**** you
I really would like to bring back the test course it is a awesome idea to actually find out the max speed of cars, there is more to racing than going through corners.

Like Special Stage Route X we got for GT5 to replace the test course? I'm sure it wouldn't be a track, or feature that would dare be left out of a GT game. :) (Yes, even though it wasn't originally in GT5)

And top speed isn't it. There aren't any races where the most important thing is if you can get your car up to 260 MPH. If you can't reach your top speed on the available tracks, you're working towards speeds you won't ever see in an actual race.

I used it some in GT4 not so much for top speed but used to use it to tune for 1km acceleration and speed.

Only if you are drag racing.

Real racing requires going around corners. Top speed of the car is not as important as the top speed attainable on the track in question, how long it takes to get that speed and the speed at which you can take and exit the corners. In the end it is all about lap time not top speed.

I would love have a HUGE test track, where we could drive all the sections we could imagine, as: hill climbs, fast circuits, slow circuits, soil parts... A "ALL IN ONE" circuit ;)

Complex strings anyone?

In response to the OP, isn't special stage route X from gt5 what you're asking for?

I'm pretty sure Route X is the replacement for the test course in previous games, there's absolutely no need for the return of GT4's Test Course for example as Route X basically offers the same, is even longer with better scenery and day/night (and offers the same general state of boredom), unless I'm missing something here.

Exactly. I did like the GT1/GT2 Test Course however. With the GT2 Test Course along with Daytona, Indianapolis and Twin Ring Super Speedway, GT would only need the addition of a short track like Bristol to have a diverse line-up of ovals.

Other than for nostalgia, like to see GT1/GT2 version, reminded me of the Volkswagen test course with all the trees, though next to no chance of it returning with SSR X in.

I actually really like a lot of GT1/GT2 versions of circuits because of the forested look they had in comparison to latter games.

Also it's much shorter and that would make it suitable for Nascar races.

I used to use it in GT3 because I loved to watch the A.i line up their cars perfectly and draft the whole race.

They should bring back Complex String but they won't
