It's just such a huge bummer that the car list is significantly worse than TDU1. Biggest omission is obviously Lamborghini and Maserati. I mean this game is all about style and luxury, and Lambo isn't in it. Where's BMW? Corvettes? How about some more classics? How about some Asian cars? Honda S2000 and Lexus LFA fits right into this game.

I know every game can't be Gran Turismo with it's car list, but TDU2 has five Zondas and Veyrons each. That's some Gran Turismo Skyline level of adding pointless models of the same car. OK in a game with 1000 cars. But for 100, that's pushing it.

Can anybody give me a good reason to buy this game?

i don't have any options to setup my Steer Wheel, (DFGT)
I was reading the TDU2 Forum and it seems as though someone had the option to select a steering wheel, but nobody else has this option.

I'm Raging right now.

I'm

Which version are you playing? PS3, 360, PC?

If this game doesn't have DFGT wheel support on PS3, I'm not going to buy it before they provide a fix for that... :(

Check out "TRC_Hunk's Top Speed Run" in the Community Racing Center. Maintain 249mph for 5 seconds to unlock a trophy!

I also made a quarter mile drag strip if anyone is interested. My GT-R does 11.9s just like in real life. =)

ADDED: Logitech DFP and DFGT both work perfectly. Make sure your controller is not on. The wheel must be the only active input device.

I will try this fix. Thank you.

It worked. Thank you.

Agree completely.

For once, it's a game absolutely crying out for DLC rather than it being a nice bonus.

Cool, regained my interest :)

So how does the wheel feel on this game?

Meh... You have to dork around with the settings a bit. I've just finished the first license test, and the Mustang they have you using is squirrely. The ass end slides all over the place. My best advice is to allow the Driving Line to turn fully green before trying to take a turn in that car. Try not to stomp a mudhole thru your tv, because it will have you close to doing that in anger.

Its only 200 degree steering so it takes getting used to after playing GT5 with 900 degrees.

My settings...

vibration - 1
ffb - med
sensitivity - 0
speed factor - 0
damping - 0
deadzone - 1
clutch - default (middle)
throttle - default
brake - default

Using speed factor and damping makes the steering feel artificial...if that makes any sense. The settings I'm using give me a more responsive feel.

So my EB didn't have it in yesterday. I have it payed off in pre order but after reading on the TDU2 forums yesterday I was left feeling like I should get my money back and skip it due to crappy car handeling and things like the police do nothing unless you bump in to them lke 3 times. I really liked the police in TDU1 but seems like most people thought they were too hard.

I had logged enough hours on the first one at my friends house to effectivley master a few tracks and cars and had a blast online. I didn't buy it because I don't own an X-BOX. I'd be using the G27 and am wondering If I should pick up my copy. I'll likley get my copy regardless of what anybody says though this time around I am fully prepared to return the game if I don't like it.

My hopes are not high right now but I would like to hear all the good and the bad. More over how the cars feel with a wheels FFB vs gran turismo.

So my thoughts are that cop chases are out, The car list is ****, and to quote a thread topic from the TDU2 site the cars feel like tanks/trucks.

Sell me the game or save me my money please.

Just save your money. All you do is drive and play dress up. I got spoiled playing GT5. That's why my opinion is so low. I'm trying real hard to like this game, but damn it's hard. Between the wonky handling and the irritating citizen's of the city, this game is slowly making me want to stab myself in the face with a hot curling iron.

I really should have waited on the reviews. Even people that LOVED TDU1 are trashing this game.
Only people that seem to be enjoying it are the ones that are easily satisfied(which really isn't a problem)...

Any truth in that the weather effects only work whilst online.
Apparently it stays sunny if you play offline.

Anyone know this.

I've only ran into time change and weather change during the License Test. But then again, i put about 4 hours in so far.

It's been mentioned a lot on the forum about no weather when playing offline.

Just add that to the high number of disappointments and nonsensical design decisions.

Does anyone plays with a G27/25 ?
If so, I saw on forums that FFB is horrible can you confirm ? And is there more than 200 degrees of rotation ?

Still no reviews up on IGN and gamespot...

Where did you hear that?

They aren't anything spectacular but they are in the game.

I was hoping they'd nab you for running red lights and speeding. The video I saw is that you have to pretty much hit a cop car 3 times for them to do anything and when they do come after you its with multiple cars and helicopters.

I was one who really enjoyed TDU1 but my excitement for getting my copy died yesterday morning. I'll still pick it up and play it a week or so then post what I have to say.

And Yes, apparently there is no FFB at all. It's a driving game with basically no wheel support, thats an epic fail in my books.

Lets say I want to hit my PS button to msg a friend while playing with my G27. can I turn on the controller send the message then turn it off and the wheel will keep working normally?

I ran into a cop doing 130, slammed right into the thing. Absolutely nothing, but a lil bar that pop's up talking about a wanted level.

You can speed pass them doing A Buck Fifty and they won't even blink.
This game is friggin Re Re...

They put so much emphasis on making yourself look like a Metrosexual Douche Nozzle, that they forgot to work on the Driving Aspect, and it shows. The radio stations and songs are garbage dumpster juice too.
I'd rather main line Crystal Meth into my pee hole then play this.

This game is so bad that I'd actually purchase the latest Alien vs. Predator game, before ever thinking about putting this back into my PS3.

SO....WHY....ARE....YOU...STILL...PLAYING...IT!!!!!

Really, I have to wonder why people 🤬 so much about something yet proceed to play it.

He asked for opinions on a message board, I gave it. I'm not playing it anymore, in fact, I'm going to trade it in for The Darkness, and Hot Pursuit...

You like it that's fine, but don't come at me for disliking it and voicing my opinion on it. I am not directing my aggression towards anyone, therefore you don't need to be directing your aggression towards me.

Voice your opinion all you want, that's fine. The above bit was totally uncalled for which is why I took that attitude.

You just want something to be upset about. There is absolutely nothing wrong with what I said. It was not inflammatory in any way. I mean come on. I put in parenthesis that it wasn't a problem, you are taking exception to what i said, because it's obvious you enjoy the game, and want to harp on people who don't. give me a break guy, untwist your undies and keep it moving.

Words about a game on a message board should not be affecting you that much.

Anyone have a setting that works for G25/27? I've played around with the settings but it always feels like I'm driving with no power steering. Way over dampered.

Ya I'm not easily satisfied with games in the slightest and I'm starting to come around to TDU2. Its not as bad as people are making it out to be, it's by no means perfect but it is fun.

Here's a link to the forum's steering wheel rant thread.

Seems like there is a bit of good info in it that everyone could benefit from. PS3/XBOX360/PC issues are all listed in that

The controller can be on but it has to be set to Controller 2 so it doesnt interfere with the wheel. I was too lazy to explain this before. =(

So yah, you can send messages with your pad and the wheel will still work. No need to turn your controller off.

I was really dubious about TDU2 for one reason....TDU1, Why? well firstly I loved the first game, absaloutly played it to death on the 360, but the physics were shocking! The comunbity aspects of just going out there and cruising made up for the many shortfalls....So why would that make me dubious about TDU 2? Well since then there's been alot of driving games where the physics put TDU to shame so going back to it now would really show it's flaws.

But then I watched a few of the Team VVV videos (see below) and it looks like they have improved things alot.......no I don't mean to GT5 or R Racing levels but to a level that is beyong the digital on off steering of TDU1, watch the video to see what I mean.

Anyway, looking foreward to the release again, whole new island, plus the original (unlocks at level 10) plenty of new events and secret areas plus the whole club thing is back! Couple of awnsers to questions that seem to be unawnsered,,,,review, only seen one, eurogamer 7/10. Wheel suport....yes lots of sliders for various options, and YES FFB is in!

Just one thing to remember about TDU, it's an online open ended racing sandbox....the comunity is what makes it so great, give it some time to find it's feet and it'll shine. Love the 4X4 idea and when the bikes hit via promised DLC then the fun starts! As for ANYTHING posted in the official TDU forum right now I'd take with a pinch of salt as the usual non constructive hate idiocy reighns supreeme as it did on GTPlanet at release and every other official game forum on there releases......Troll magnets at full power while those internet dwellers who love an argument decend in there hordes LOL Not got the game yet myself but from what I've seen and the experiences with TDU 2 I'm prety confident it'll be another stonker, just remember it aint GT5 it's WoW for petrtol heads LOL

Well, things got a bit rough here and I see that wheel users (like me) may get frustrated. However, the Team VVV videos are from the PS3 version and apparently a G25 is working fine there, so I keep my expectations/hopes in this one.

I must say I LOVED Test Drive Unlimited for the PS2 (even if that was the most "limited" version, pun intended) and I'm very interested in cruising freely around these islands.

About all the shortcomings (wheel support, physics, unresponsive cops) ... well, I hope they patch them.

Even PD released GT5 clearly without the finishing touches/polish the series demanded so I guess we'll have to forgive Eden Studios if a few patches are needed.

PS - And Thanks Jordan for allowing a TDU subforum! 👍

To save you grinding through over 3 hours of VVV TDU2 videos From what I've seen and heard the wheel gives a far more responsive liniar feel than the pad which is very twitchy. One complaint about the wheel was an inability to catch slides though on later videos this dosn't seem to be an issue, also the FFB is too harsh and needs to be toned down in the menu, other than that turning down the brake pedal seems to help with over braking issues. For pad users turning down the responciveness seems to improve things. TDU was never the greatest handeling car game but it dose look to be vastly improved over the original if still a little "quirky"

What's everyone going for or gone for (US) in regards there starting car? Lotus, Mustang or Lancia?....Lotus for me I think ;)
