And why do all the vans, trucks and other work vehicles seem to have their tailgates or rear doors open when driving around? I haven't even hit them... yet.

Preemptive awareness?

That's definitely irregular though. What platform?

I'm curious as to wether they have got the handling correct for pad users.
From what I've read the wheel support is not good.

So how is the pad guys?

The wheel support isn't too terrible.I had to mess with my settings a bit to get it feel right. The default settings are very bad as it makes the car way too twitchy.

I see it a lot too, mostly in Ibiza. I'm playing on PS3.

I've seen a lot of cars turn a corner and their boot has flown open (I'm on 360).

Hell, sometimes my own doors start flappin about likes it's their birthday, just sayin'.

How are you all experiencing this? I mean, once I was driving my Scooby all out and a black car divined out of thin air and I crashed into it....but other than that, that's the only irregularity I've experienced.

Yeah, those traffic cars are kinda weird like that. They can appear out of no where, and they can disappear. What would really be cheap is if one appeared in front of you and you crashed and then you watched it slowly disappear.

I decided to set my game aside until they release a patch or a couple patches. Once I hear some positive feedback from the community, then I will start playing TDU2 again. Until then, TDU2 is a dust collector. Just way too many issues with this game.

Mine is off to the side, partly due to school, partly due to work and partly due to a bit of GT5 on the side.

I will definitely pick it up after patch however I think this patch isn't doing alot gameplay wise, just connection stuff.

Ran into a massive bug last night with this game but found a work around to fix it!!!!

I put the game in and it kept getting stuck at a black loading screen. This is what you have to do to fix the problem.

360 version

1. Sign out of xboxlive

2. Start the game and then it will ask you to sign in

3. Sign in and then pick your hard drive

4. This worked for me but for some reason all my paint jobs are gone.

WTF is with the Charger hiding spots? The Lancia's are pretty much out in the open, very little searching. But, it's like Eden found the master hider in the office and let him hide the Chargers. But that actually kinda makes them more fun. BTW, adding convoy challenges to unlock the wreck pieces for the Exploration Pack is rather ingenious.

EDIT: I don't understand the winter outfits. Was it supposed to be a "Christmas" thing? But, you're in the tropics. How about a winter themed bikini or something. But thick coats? Wool hats? Really? NO ONE in Hawaii or Ibizia is going to wear those things.

I haven't looked at the outfits yet - but now you've piqued my curiosity - so I'll have to yank GT5 out of the console later and slip TDU2 in again. The new Convoy challenges are super fun because of the awesome new cars in the Pack. The Viper blows, the Corvette is mind-numbingly addictive. (I'm talking manual, of course; it's flipping through the gears on those Missions that's half the fun for me.)

As for the guy hiding the wrecks . . . I better not meet him. ;)

Yeah, the Viper ACR...seems a little under powered for the fastest American production car around Nurburgring. You'd think it'd be either a great A1 car or an overpowered A2, but nope. Personally, I think the car is fine, but the AI in TDU2 are cheaters. The top speed on my Viper is 233mph. So, it's pretty fast.

And I've still not completed all the Ibizia new Convoys. I'm stuck on the stupid Veyron SS one. I got really close once but wasn't expecting the round about and failed.

EDIT: too bad there weren't any new convoys for the bikes.

You know even with all the flaws, I was still able to find immense enjoyment out of it. Forza Horizon seems to have covered the many issues I had with TDU2. However, lately I've been thinking about this game and I have to admit I sort of miss it.

I find TDU2 so enjoyable because of the driving freedom. The only substitute for my RL free-roam addiction.
As for using a video game to boost my ego - there are all kinds of challenges to meet and beat - but my real passion comes from endlessly driving all over the islands.
I hope that this is not the end of the series; if it is - I'm hoping that another major dev would take it over and work on it - better graphics, more realistic handling, real world tracks that we could drive to and enter races, more instant challenges, etc, etc.

I agree I really love this game. Yes it sucked really bad at launch with an insane amount of problems. But now its a very stable game and very enjoyable.

I still play this game every single week. Its impossible to comprehend how much is in this game. Eariler this week I spent 2 hours just putting furniture into my houses, changing floor material, and wall material. Did you know they actually have "gaming" chairs and tables? One of them is a fooseball table! One of the chairs is a crazy carbon fiber gaming chair.

Then on top of that the casino is amazing. Yesterday I was messing around getting in cop chases with real people. If you make the cops mad, REAL people have the opportunity to start chasing you down. Or you can join in with the cops to chase other people down. All real time. Its just incredible the amount of detail and content in this game. All along with dynamic night day cycle and weather. I spent about 40 minutes taking pictures of lightning last night with my friend in the backround. Then you have photo locations, car wrecks and much more.

Also you are able to ride in other players cars or they can ride in yours at any time. They can also come into your house and you can join theirs. I could list a massive page of features in TDU2. I even messed with some online community challenges last night. After that created my own races with the track editor and put them into the community challenge. If you do this 15 times you complete one of the game challenges. I think I am currently level 57. Working toward 60. There is just sooo much to do in this game.

So I've been thinking more and more about starting a new game, not soon, maybe around spring. Last time I played was a year ago and I remember stopping at level 42. Since then the thing that kept lingering at the back of my mind is that I never got close to fulfilling my goals for the game like buying every car and owning a yacht.

If I were to start over, I'd want to have a different experience; different avatar and a whole different car selection (even if it means using slower vehicles). I also haven't bought any of the DLC so that's something I'm seriously considering as well.

Another thing, and this may sound weird for some considering TDU2 is MMO, I haven't spent much time playing online. So I might venture a little on that side, but it's not a priority.

However, 2 things put me off from restarting:

  • Time Attack events - I recall some being a huge pain. Eventually I got better and I'm sure I won't have trouble the second time around, but still.
  • Discovering all roads - I remember being stuck at 99% discovered roads for a few days in Ibiza and it drove me crazy.

At the moment I'm not so sure if I'll go through with it. First time took me 4 months on and off to get to level 42.

I hate the license tests in the game but I'm finding it enjoyable by just cruising around in my Bugatti Veyron GrandSport. I want to upgrade the performance but it's so damn expensive to do so. I'm still level 26 though. ;)

Online is where this game truly shines especially if you have friends to play with. Feels so immersive hearing and seeing other real life cars driving around since its an MMO. Cruising around the island taking pics together and unlocking roads is still a blast to this day. Plus the interaction with the cops if your friends are near you is also a blast. On top of that if you have the casino its one of the best parts in the game. And thats coming from someone that never liked cards and didnt even know how to play Poker until this game. I explained most of this a couple posts up. So if you are interrested in getting this game, its a perfect time to do it.

I also found out something interresting that has helped the handling. Usually I am stubborn and will only race with driving aids off. Well this game has some strange physics and I found that if you turn some of the assists ON it makes a huge improvement in the handling. Hope it helps and hopefully you try the game again. Oh also, you can change the look of your in game avatar at any time. The face, hair, facial features, clothes everything. I dont see any reason to start over but thats up to you. I would just continue where you left off and just modify your avatar so it feels like a new experience. The Casino is a must IMO.

Completely forgot about license tests. Probably a good sign which means I didn't have trouble at all with them.

After playing other racing games, I always have this feeling especially if someone's coming up fast from behind that they're going to ram me. I was cruising in a D-Type and some guy in a One-77 kept pacing me, then spun me around and sped off. Not my idea of having a good time, but I guess everyone's experience online is different.

I hear the casino is a good way of getting money. Money was an issue with me in my current game, so I'll likely get this.

But you can't switch to another male or female avatar, right? Like there's 2 (or 3 can't remember) male avatars. You can only modify the avatar you chose from the start.

Yep. TDU2's always been a bit of a rammer's paradise. Plenty of roads to prowl, and a wide range of cars (including FIVE Bugatti Veyrons) so any prospective rammer can just cruise around until they find someone to punt halfway to Saturn. Thankfully, there are ways to avoid the rammers.

The Casino's pretty good for making money. There's no denying there's real money to be made from Poker or Roulette, but of course there's the risk that it could bleed you dry in terms of money. What I find is that by going on the High Life Slot Machines, I can constantly cycle the slots and earn money with the only effort being pressing the button to roll again, or going to see how much money I've earned. The Casino's also good for exclusive prizes. If you're good at Poker, the Tournament can get you great prizes, with everything from a smart suit/dress and a sticker sheet, to a furniture set and even a shiny Spyker C8 Aileron Spyder! Be prepared to get spammed with Poker invites if you're found anywhere near the Casino though...

Okay so I'm checking the PSN store and I want to confirm which DLC I should go for. If I buy the 15 car bundle plus the ZR1, SRT10 ACR, 599XX, 250 GTO, F40, SL65 AMG, and the 3 bikes separately, I would have all the DLC vehicles currently available. Am I correct?

Ye and no. You will have the separate cars but you need the Casino Online to get the last 2 DLC cars
