Iv tuned/set up a hks Evo on the controller tonight for you mate :)

Todays slot is used so ill fire it over to you tomorrow. It should be good enough for you to win the ring event while being easy to chuck about. It has no worries being thrown over curbs etc and even if you catch a rear wheel on the grass and end up well sideways, it pulls back straight in the blink of an eye aslong as you keep on the power!

Just beware if you have the jag xj lm on the grid.. He will easily gain a couple of seconds on the main straight :O

As said, if you still have trouble, slap the anti skid thing on... It will definately help you pull a faster speed thru the apex ;)

Cheers! Dunno when Im back on the ps3, hopefully sometime this weekend. Just wish we could do online with the psp!

lol no worries pal, the hks will be waiting for you whenever you get back online :) if you struggle with it, I can hopefully tweak it to suit your driving style.

We can sort some hot laps/nurburgring training out when you have a spare hour. I'll try my best to talk you thru a clean, fast lap if you have a mic/headset?

Im online now but nothing there! My missus had a go in the Tom's Supra and took silver! Im just useless!

I'm at work mate lol. I'll send it over when I get home about 7pm :)

Good result for your wife :D

I completed the championship with 458italia with only aero upgrades was tough though..

What about the Nissan GT-R?

Very predictable handling, easy to drive and lots of grip. Should do it easily with some racing tyres.

I dont get why everyone suggests racing tyres on a road! Surely theyrr less grippy than sports softs?

No they grip alot more.

Is your problem that you just dont know your way around the nurburing? Its a long and tedious track mate. Try using the drivingline and use a overpowered car, im just guessing that your not using the drivingline. I know i dont:P

Racing tyres give a lot more grip than sports mate.

Think of the RL difference between cut slick road legal tyres and full on race slicks.

Racing tyres give much more grip then sports tyres.

Try it yourself and see.

This also was a problem for me. All i did was add a wing onto my Ferrari Califorina '08 and that did the trick. Downforce is awesome!

He probably meant it's more difficuilt when you lose control. It's easier to control a drift/powerslide with lower grip tyres, since their less twitchy.

Eww you must be joking, bloody awful handling car. Would rather walk round!

Not joking ... first off this event is not hard at all so if you can't do the event in the Audi R8 Quattro I can't possibly see what other car will do it for you ...

There are only 3 a.spec events that deserves to be called a challenge and this is not one of them ...

Yea i do use the line but down the ring it might as well not be there in a fast car! Ive done great in a Golf or Focus but not with a super car.

Ah thanks for that! I just imagined slick tyres to be like banana skins

Smart arse!

For the nurb in a high speed car like the CLK GTR, I just coast it along a lot of corners until I can smash the throttle when it straightens out.

Don't need to use all the power all the time, especially at a track like the Nurb.

For reference, the level of grip on tyres goes as follows:
Comfort < Sports < Racing,
and
Hard < Medium < Soft.

ALL Comfort tyres are worse than ALL Sports tyres, which are in turn worse than ALL Racing Tyres.

(So Sports Hard grip better than Comfort Soft,, and Racing Hard grip better than Sports Soft).

I did it with a max hp ZR-1 with no aero parts and it was easy even with al aids off except for abs (1).

After I red this topic I had to retry because I could not remember it being so hard. This time I used a stock Ferrari Italia with racing softs and I won again no problem. Even spun out a few times. Not trying to be an ass but this race should not give you this much trouble...

Not so easy with a DS3 when the throttle is either on or off! Tried using the other analog stick but cant do it, no coordination. Which is why I cant drive in real life!

Map the throttle & brake to R2/L2......Much better control with these being analog.

Better yet.....do what I did and get the HKS controller! WAY better than the DS3 (but still not quite as good as a full blown wheel set up.......but for $40 it's impossible to beat).

Nah need for speed shift uses that set up and i find it really uncomfortable. Just have to save up for a wheel (i have one for the ps2 but its not compatible)

I DID IT!
Phew! First attempt in the HKS Evo 7,, 3rd place,7'31", despite spinning off and doing two 360s!
Second go fluffed it came 7th
3rd attempt, despite grass munching I was in 3rd most of the way then off the long straight where I normally fail epicly I took first, 7'24"
Man that feels good! And that car is mint-thanks Chris!

Woohoo glad you cracked it mate :)

Good to hear you like the Evo aswell, its a great car for hot lapping the ring :D
