Thanks. I am going to take my tripod next time so that I can get clear night shots. The shutter has to remain open for a second to get visible night shots and I'm not steady enough to make that work clearly. I didn't think about that ahead of time and the few clear night shots I did get were some of the best looking pictures. With a tripod I could have gotten some really great shots with great effects.Great shots!

I am sure they could fire back the same way about football, but teh tide may be changing. But that is for the other threads.FoolKiller did have some pretty nice snapshots. Good job, mate. Oh, and don't worry about getting negative looks. If you do encounter any Georgia fans, this is simple to say: "at least our Men's basketball team can actually WIN games unlike your (Georgia) men's basketball team!" You can never get away from college sports!
Thanks, I just wish I could have done some better. I had 275 on the memory card but there were too many with motion blur or bad focus because they were going too fast for the auto focus to lock on. I know I didn't have time to manually focus. But nice pictures.
OK, I am sitting at work watching the video from the race as I type this and from being able to see every accident there is it truly does appear to be sloppy.I'll just want to briefly talk about the caution deals. I think the Petit Le Mans ended up with about five cautions. One of the things Speed analyst, Dorsey S. talked about was about "sharing the track." In my view, there is greater disparity in speeds in the ALMS than in Rolex Sports Cars. You have only two classes in the Rolex ranks while you have four classes in the ALMS. If you want to learn track discipline and making smart decisions on track, just look at the ALMS. The GT machines have to try to get out of the way of the prototypes. The prototype drivers have to make smart passes to make sure that their car doesn't become part of a track's scenery. But all kinds of tough luck and hard hits fueled a lot of cautions.
With the five or so Safety Car (or Pace Car) periods, do you think the race was sloppy, a little slow, or just right?
