Given the fact that many of us find the seasonal events too easy:

The 90% Club

Simply limit yourself to 90% of the allowable PP for any seasonal event.

650 = 585
600 = 540
500 = 450
400 = 360

Use no SRF.

For the 650PP races race soft tires will probably be needed. For lower PP races use tires the same as the AI.

This should produce some good challenges.

Great idea. I also like doing it in the same car - used the Shelby Supercharged for both in the new ones - easy.

YES!!! Most of the time I can get by with 80% less on the 400 and 500 pp races. The 650pp races are much more difficult to win with less. This is a good challenge, though! 👍

Great stuff guys! I often go comfort tyres which is tricky and once won the Real World at the Nurb in a CTR 96 - great fun!!

I just use PP a little above backmarkers' on the same tires. If that doesn't work I'll upgrade from there. Depending on the track of course. Usually mid-pack PP works good, at the Ring or Cape Ring I use the backmarkers PP, at Tokyo R246 I often need to be as high as the rabbit, and if it's a long custom track I'll just get out and jog.

Unless the field is all similar, like Super GTs, in which case I'll use worse tires.

I do that kind of thing all the time. Sick of hearing people complain about seasonals being too easy, when they use all the aids, racing soft tyres and a powerlimited car. Of course it's easy if you do all that fools! Try using the same cars as the AI, same tyres and no aids. If its still too easy use inferior tyres/cars, simple. I won the dream car race at Spa, the one where the fastest AI car is a Jaguar XJR-9, get this....in a non RM Lotus Elise 111R, lightly tuned to around 530pp. That's 120pp lower than you are permitted to use. I think that says more about how slow the AI is than how quick I am. I'm about averagely quick, there are far quicker drivers than me in the game. Give yourself a challenge and see what the crappiest car is that you can still win with. It makes the seasonals much more entertaining.

I do this all the time. I'm a big fan of competing with the lowest PP I can. I also always match tyres to the competition 👍

My favourite race for this is the real circuit tours lap of the Ring. My upper limit is 675 for this 750pp event. Had some intense racing in a 670pp Zonda R last night

In this race, the seasonal 650pp on Grand Valley, the F1 does their first lap in just under 1:36. This is due to the time starting when YOU cross the line. It laps the final 4 in just over 1:50.

Using the Takata Dome NSX, RH tires, no aids, 599 pp... *sigh* I could only manage laps of 1:52 to 1:54 on my 5th attempt. Ford Mark... 1:58's, same with RX-7 race car. I gave up, so I put the big turbo on the Takata Dome, pp 605, my beloved RS tires, and *gasp* SRF, in order to beat it by 4 seconds. That's what it took for me to beat it with that car. Better drivers could do it without SRF. You have to average 1:45, maybe 1:46 laps to get it done.

If anyone can do it, I wouldn't be worthy to post in the same thread as you and would follow you around bowing and praising you for at least 30 minutes... "I'm not worthy!!" Hahaha!

I'm going to try more cars over the weekend, but at my level of driving, I'm pretty sure this one is WAY out of my league. A lot of fun trying, though! 👍

i agree. the races are as easy or hard as you want them to be. if it is too easy use a lesser car , harder tires , power limiter etc. of course it is easy with maximum pp and racing soft tires.

Well I'll admit that I did do it (600PP, race hard) in the Washing Machine (which is against my rules) and I also did it in the Mobil 1 NSX with race medium tires (also against my rules). But no SRF.

Staying within my rules the best I could do was about 1 second a lap too slow. I know that 1 second is there, but I haven't been able to find it.

Start the race. Wait a few seconds. Stop the race. Watch the replay. Now you know what tires the AI are running.

I am a fool and so's my wife! not offended. The game is much more fun with no aids whether using wheel or ds3. I do use abs=1 mostly. I started off using all of them and my times have improved as I have taken them off and learned to drive better. I start off in the seasonals with something that is well underpowered and agree it is much more of a challenge and fun. The us one i managed to gold in a focus st and shall move onto the more muscular cars after this weekend.

Just went back to the 400PP High Speed Ring event with a Fiat 500 '08.

I decided to limit myself to 100hp, and of course the same tires as the AI (sport hard).

This turned out to be harder than I thought. After 6 tries I wound up doing all non-power upgrades. I added back ballast to bring the PP down to 340.

Still couldn't catch the rabbit (Prelude or SSII) so I shuffled the lineup until I got the Silvia on pole.

I finally won it with alot of help from drafting. Margin 1.7 seconds.

Also had a go at High Speed Ring with a 100% stock TF160. Surprisingly good race. The TF160 on Comfort Soft tires against the Prelude. The race came down to a last corner pass.

Try some of the settings from this car, as the name suggests, it's a collaborative build. 500 1.2 8V "Open Source" SS '08

That's a pain. I shouldn't have to do that.

You should be able to tell from the front screen what tyres are being used, where it tells you what the likely competition is going to be, etc. If not, you'll have to do as suggested and view a replay...

I think the main issue is the braking distance and having to take the corners slower to avoid the oversteer going out of the corner. If I try to push it at all, I lose more time because of the oversteer. After trying a multitude of cars, I've come to one conclusion. I can drive 4WD and FF cars without SRF and on any tires fairly decently, but MR, RR, and FR not so good, unless the MR's have good downforce, ie: the NSX racecars. I'm going to practice more with the FR's, since I do enjoy driving with SRF off. Just wish I could control them better. I don't have much left in the game, so may as well try to get better at the things I'm not so good at.

My first suggestion would be to raise the level of ABS (default at level 1), the higher the level of ABS, the more grip you get for the braking (as said in the explanation), so get some grip and thus corner speed by raising the ABS level.

Tried the 90% "Challenge" on the new seasionals.

Autumn Ring mini, Swimmwagen, max tuned, RS tyres.

Nürburgring GP/D, BMW 135, stock, SH tyres

SSR5, Amuse Nismo 380RS SuperLeggera, tuned, RS tyres. Overtook the lead Ford GT at the last corner on the 3rd try.
