HAHHAHAHA ... no, no, I want to leave the cars as untouched as possible ... I'm happy that they can *mostly* run similar times when in the right hands and that a lot comes down to part selection and driver ability.

I am going to change the rules regarding changing your car:

** You can now change your car ONCE during the season. You must PM me the new car choice and please make it known when posting splits in any race thread. **

** The Shelby now has a modified HP$ and non-HP$ allotment, hopefully a little conservative, but it will make it a viable option **

RULE CHANGES:
1) You may switch your car **ONCE** during the racing season. You must abide by the rules as given in this thread at the time of the switch regarding your new car and permitted upgrade dollars. Please PM me your new shopping list and make it clear in any new splits that you may post.

2) The bottom third of any racing lineup will be allowed to change their parts, free of charge, after any race week. This will help even the field, correct mistakes, and encourage one to learn about these great cars and how to get the most from them. It will also help avoid penalizing a poor choice.

3) Some cars have had a slight adjustment on upgrade figures.

Cars affected:
Shelby Mustang has increased HP/Non-HP credits.

Increased non-HP:
-----------------------
Z28
Dodge Charger 440
Charger Superbee hemi
Mercury Cougar
C2 Corvette
Chevelle SS 454

If you have been discussing changing your car, please PM me details. Review the first post in this thread, because some cars have had a small increase in alloted credits. I have remained cautious with the Shelby, but you should find that it is now more competitive.

I reserve the right to modify these figures again, if necessary, and with the 'bottom third' rule, it will enable you to switch parts if you find that you can't run competitively.

I assume that this applies if you want to keep your current car but you would like to change your current parts?

Bottom third may change their parts after every race if they wish, but otherwise if you're running well (top two thirds) and want to change them, yes, you can 'change' the whole car as you have indicated (which, personally, I'm seriously thinking about doing, because I think I can run faster without the suspension and opting for a LSD 1.5 instead ... maybe less HP, too).

👍 👍

In my testing I've found that I run about a second faster in my Chevelle after adding sports suspension

Wow :D . Thanks 👍 ... Looks like I've got a bit of testing to do to figure out the best combination. Dammit...I won't be home, eat and able to race for 5 hours or so....I'm starting to feel a little sick  maybe I'll have to go home early.

Are you doing any tuning on this, or just adding the suspension and finding that you get faster results?

Yes, I adjusted the suspension, no fine tuning just basic setup.

Ride Height 135 / 140

Shock Absorbers 6 / 7

Camber 2.8 / 1.0

The Camaro might do ok with these settings, but I haven't tested it so I don't know. If you try let me know how it works. (ride height probably wont be the same, so move the front all to the left then two or three back to the right, for the rear, add 5 to the number you get for the front)

So since the Non-HP money for my SuperBee was upgraded by 2000$. Can I just add 2000$ of Non-HP parts (plus what ever I had left over last time) to what I have now?

As long as you don't change the parts you have, yes.

Remember that ride height is increased in millimeters. 25.4 millimeters is an inch. I usually have a half inch, or about 13mm difference front to rear. Now, reality says that an inch of rake (higher in back, lower in front) is good for a slight amount of aerodynamic downforce. I would bet though that P.D. only took the weight bias factor into the ride height.

Weight transfers in a diagonal direction. The VW Rabbit is a great example. If you've ever seen a picture of a Rabbit (some Honda's also do this) driving hard around an autocross or road course, you'll see one corner of the nose diving, while the opposite rear wheel/tire are off the ground. I've made my Rabbit stiff enough, even as a daily driver, I can lift the inside rear wheel off the ground while on my way to school :D Sure gets a tailgater's attention.

Lifting and lowering corners is how you "cross-weight" or "corner-weight" a vehicle. Ideally you make LF+RR = RF+LR. Raising a corner makes it weigh more, lowering it makes it weigh less. I wish I could X-weight my cars in Gran Turismo. Just by doing that, a car will feel more nimble and will corner more predictably.

Leaderboard has been updated.

With bhawk now in his stride, watch his charge up the rankings; if he can steal enough podiums, perhaps he'll have enough time to threaten Jetboys and Jump_Ace for top honors. Also worth watching - as kenny enters retirement - is the inevitable fight for the 3rd to 5th ranking; will Kolyana beat goixoye and Casio enough in future weeks to threaten them, or will they flex their obvious superiority behind the wheel and keep her where she belongs ... middle of the pack :p And will we see the return of the two fast brothers 92CorradoSLC and 63AvantiR3 ... any racing by them is sure to upset the apple cart!

Thanks Nat.

I missed last week due to the return of school into my schedule (journalism and health are gonna be a bidigitch this quarter.) I also had a friend's wedding on Saturday that I had to prepare for and attend. You could say that my week was consumed by other more important things.

I think my brother missed last week due to classes and work. He was home only to sleep at night; and even then, not every night.

'Avanti ... good to hear that it was regular life and nothing more 'dire'. It seems like school is steadily raking up numerous GT4 casualties, but I hope it goes easy on you and eventually allows both you and your brother to return from time to time :)

Hey I was just thinkin' you oughtta add an unofficial 9th (technically 11th) event after the season is over....Let us totally trick out the cars and take it to Test Course or the Motegi Ring or ??? and have a little wacked out fun with 'em.

Koly.. don't think it changes my $$ winnings, but you have me listed as 3 starts and started all 4?

Ah yeah, sorry, I do this manually (ack! sorry!) and simply missed updating that field.

With 3 weeks to go, it'll be interesting to see how the American Muscle Championship plays out. JetBoys - dominating in pretty much any vehicle he's turned his attention to - is dominating the field and looks like the firm favorite to take the series; unless his future contains a DNS or two, it looks doubtful that anyone will catch him. Perhaps someone needs to sneak into his garage one night to pour sugar into his gas tank?

On a more personal note, Goixoye and I have been jousting over the last few weeks in various events and it has developed into a nice friendly rivalry. He really took a strong lead during the first few weeks of the AMC, while my car was setup all wrong, but with 3 weeks to go I'm hoping that I can claw back the $600 point deficit and perhaps edge him out at the finishing line.

Don't discount nor forget the two season-long races: Point-to-Point at the Ring and the Las Vegas Drag Strip ... both will give points at the end of the final race, so either and both of them can make a big difference at the end of the day!

Looks like you're one step ahead of me in the points racing too....I noted the same thing in the Citta di Aria thread.

Thanks Jerome :D , but I don't think the ladder long enough to make to the top.

I don't know when the next live race will be and I'm currently runnin the 24h @ "The Ring" so it will be afew days before I complete it. After I finish that I'm up for it whenever! 👍 👍

I still need to return to the point to point and the drag strip, I haven't reran those since I swapped parts. ;)

I know Koly was interested in pictures from this past ALMS weekend and figured other people would be interested to see them as well:

Folders titled ALMS 10-14, ALMS 10-15, and ALMS 10-16 are the newest ones. If you see this post pretty early on, the pictures are still uploading. Some of the thumbnails may be uploaded, but the underlying picture may not be there yet. Be patient, I have over 1000 images uploading.

Dude! Sox are my team man! I got to go to Chicage for the first time this past March on an all expense paid trip from work... :sly: . I went there to the stadium, tried to go to the Smithsonian, but it was being worked on :( and stayed at the Mariott just of fMichigan Ave (the ONLY place that had grass in the whole town I swear). And I got to go into the Sears tower! although i was expecting it to be MUCH MUCH bigger, and despite what people say, u CAN see the top for the sidewalk below. Good times and love the pic of your Vette man!

maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan ... seriously, I'd pee myself if I were that close to those cars! They're so damned beautiful! So majestic, so awesome!!! I looked at every picture with wide eyed wonderment! How the hell you didn't just throw yourself on top of them shouting "MINE!" I don't know. Awesome, awesome, awesome. God, what I'd give to go to the actual track like that and see the actual cars ... I'm speechless.

Bbinnell I just saw your next avatar pic buddy, it suits u to a TEE!!! Browse the pics at the top, the ones at Laguna and you'll know EXACTLY which one I'm talking about man.

@Bryan, so r u running it yourself or using the B-Spec? I did all three of those damned 24 hours things in the span of I think it was 12 days back in like June or w/e. GL with that.

I'm a-specn' it, the first time I did it was all b-spec so decided to rerun it for the hell of it  using a stock Renault Clio Race Car. This is the last time I'll be doing anything like this again!

@Koly, don't know if you seen this before but its a nice Nurbugring Ring Driving Line Guide. 👍

I've got a Ring driving guide in PDF format - printed and everything for easy reference, I believe it's the one you've linked to. I'll have to look at that again to see if I can get any more joy.

Alright BHawk, enough of this lead crap that Jetboys has on us, I'll take the left knee u take the right...eerrr....I mean u take the right thumb and I"ll take the left thumb...heheh. Great comp this series guys, I wish kenny could have stayed in it, I miss beating him by a total of like .2 over the span of 3 races....heheh. Man that'd just piss me off...lol

Leaderboard has been updated.

Jetboys has the runaway victory here and it all but looks to be set in stone. With 2 races to go and the results of the 2 season long events to take into consideration, maybe the same can't be said for bHawk's charge on Jump_Ace.

On a personal note ... with my own little struggle against Goixoye ... I clawed $100 closer, but will that be enough??? With only $100 currently gained by me at the Strip after Goixoye pulled off that amazing run yesterday and his continued dominance in the Point-to-Point, it leaves me with a $400 deficit and only 2 races to go. With Goixoye sure to take the Clubman, can I possibly gain that much ground on him on the streets of Hong Kong???
