Well that seems to be a sign of evolution right there, next thing you know they will enslave us all! Like that [Homer]Plllllaaanet of the Apes[/Homer].

This Gorilla in the UK has learned to walk from watching his keepers do it, I hope no one punches someone in front of him...

Robin.

Pfftt, as long as he doesn't learn to aim and pull a trigger better than me, I can easily take out that damn dirty ape.

99% same genome. I'm not surprised. But truly his upright walking looks more effortless than my attempt to jump between branches!

It's just Richard keys, seeing that he is unemployed now, probably just going out for a walk.

Could we interbreed? They must be great to spoon afterwards.

mmm... monkey fun... :boggled:

That's at Port Lympne in Kent.

Which meant he was already more advanced than the locals even when he was licking his own genitals and throwing poo.

Hey, I'm from Kent and take great offense at that... whoa, I've just noticed the fruit bowl is full, must rush... :dopey:

Big whoop. We humans have been doing that for 4 million years. Still, Viva la Evolution.

Come on guys, think about it. Taking our girls, our jobs, jeezuz, our beers! I say nuke 'em before it's too late!!!

bloody monkeys!

They can have our Katie Prices, Snookis, cans of Stella Artois/Dutch Gold and burger-flipping jobs in McDonalds/Burger King. But if they try to take [insert sexy model here], I'm getting my shotgun.

Yeah. If I had a shotgun I'd get mine too! I've got a Grand Voyager - that can do serious damage!

Let's storm the zoo and stop this NOW!!!

[Of course if there are any 'incidents' at the zoo in the next few days, especially regarding monkeys or apes of any description, I can take no responsibility and the past few comments should only be taken in the spirit in which they were meant!] phew! :scared:

It's ok guys

Being similar to humans, they will also pick up our vices. Soon enough they will all die from ODs, emphysema and drunk driving.

...drive byes...

I would suspect that an Ape standing and walking around like a human for a period time will do no favors to its spine.

Be careful that he won't flame you when he becomes a member of GTP in a few years and reads your post about him. :p

95%

No, he was right. Though it depends on what you're talking about. Whole genome? 99%+. Actual sequence? 97%. 95% genome similarity would be the difference between a man and his dog...

But there's more to genetics than just a genome - or a sequence.

The video clip said 95% and that's what I was saying nothing more, nothing less ;)

In this video clip, taking from the alien thread, the narrator (this is probably the wrong word in this contex but you know what I mean) talks about the genoom of a gorilla which is according him 95% the same as human genome. Fast forward 8 min. and 7 sec.
