I've just had a great game on the Anaglyph deck with Green stake. It's a deck I hadn't done much with so far, concentrating more on earlier decks. But it's great when you get a run going with plenty of double vouchers and then negative jokers or spectral packs come up when you skip a blind.

I was aceing the game with Flush Fives with Jack's of Spades, but then the round it came crashing down on, I would have aced it with anything but the worst luck possible, but it gave me the worst luck possible. I was regularly scoring between 11m and 25m and I need 14.4m. I got a single Flush Five come up and it didn't include any of the high hitting mult and x1.5 cards.

Great stuff Dave - can't help but notice that spare Justice card..., were you holding out for a second Flush Five hand?

Yes, most rounds I was clearing with one or two Flush Fives. I had about 50-60% of my deck was Jack's of Spades. This blind they just weren't being dealt out. I could have made better choices in the blind, but I expected to get more than the one Flush Five and the one I did get was the weakest it could be, not a single enhanced card.

I've had a couple more successful rounds with that deck, and if you get something good a few Antes in it becomes quite easy. Had another run last night where I ended up with 15 negative Jokers. I've still never hit that legendary Naneinf score without a seeded run.

Personally I never continue after winning ante 8 since I'm a bit obsessive and want to "beat" the game asap, ie winning all decks on gold stake and ultimately some day get completionist++ by getting a gold sticker on every joker.

I totally see the allure however. One of my non game beating goals is to get to naninf one day. And even if I never manage that I still want to get a red steel kings build with Mime and Baron online one day (however long it is going to carry me). Like this:

Err... I've just had 3 Wheel of Fortune hits in a row... one Holo, one Foil, and one Polychrome

I beat Magic Deck on Purple Stakes tonight - my 101st ranking win (19 more to go...)

I had a strong Joker deck - Abstract (Polychrome), The Duo, Blueprint, Blackboard and Cavendish (1.5X, 2X, 3X, 3X, 3X = 81X!)

I was playing Pairs and got them up to L21, so it was very easy - I practically didn't need more than one hand until Round 23...

Yeh, that and Plasma Deck are my least favourite. Every $ counts at the start, but you have to be a bit lucky and get decent Jokers quickly.
Anaglyph deck is exclusively the only deck I use now for causal runs. Can get some fun Joker combinations when you've built up a bunch of double tags and come across a Negative Joker voucher.
I love Anaglyph Deck, but the number of double tags I've wasted is not funny.

My rule on that deck now is 'use it or lose it' - I don't hoard them unless I completely don't need them, but getting a tonne of negative Jokers is great fun.

I didn't play Balatro much during our recent 'heatwave'.

The main reason being that I play on my PS5, connected to my old Sony Bravia, in a small (but perfect!) spare room.

During my last game, the heat from the TV raised the temperature of the room by 3.0°C - which when it is already too warm, it makes playing anything on the PS5 problematic!

I had an epic game tonight  - Black Deck / Purple Stakes

I beat Round 26 (Ante 12) with a score of 1.76 billion, thanks to moving Blueprint...

I had Hologram up to 9X, and Blueprint copying gave me 81X - normally you'd never touch Blueprint here, but I had just bought Photograph (having avoided face cards until that point), and I ended up with a pair of Jacks - with a Justice card in my pocket. I turned the Jack into a Glass Card, and played it first - moving Blueprint to copy Hanging Chad (now PhotoChad) instead...

This gave me 2^10 (1,024X) - with all the other mults to come - which was enough for 1.76 billion :D

This is the first time in ages that I've had all 4 'Mult scaling' Jokers - Supernova, Constellation, Throwback and Hologram.

And, like last night, I got 2 Wheel of Fortune hits in a row...

JHSD29AE (8/19; 11/27) - Black/Purple - Two Pairs (L9/14); A8BB: Crimson Heart

JD: Fibonacci*; Blueprint** (foil); Hanging Chad (♾️), Const. (-ve, 3X); Throwback (3.25X); Hologram** (holo, 4X/9X); Supernova (+26 Mult); 2x WOF again; 4X scaling jokers!! Used Blueprint on Hanging Chad with Glass Cards; on Fibo earlier; on Hologram

EM: Incant - for 4->5X; 11/25 aced (65M!); 12/26: Glass card Jack blueprint on Hanging Chad = 1.76B!! (retriggered Steel card!)

It is one of the hardest decks for sure. The problem is the money. Sometimes one more hand would be needed to make it through the round. But every single round we get a dollar less then with the other decks. This accumulates quickly and will make getting through the first few antes super hard.

Another win tonight - Nebula Deck/Purple Stake

My jokers were really good, but I also got plenty of luck - I got a 3X level up right before the Ante 8 Boss Blind; the A8BB was Amber Acorn (the easiest IMO) and I also got Cavendish on Ante 8, which I then turned Holographic due to a sixth Wheel of Fortune success in a row... that must be some kind of record (0.0244% chance of happening!!)

-

Once again, Blueprint turned out to be the star of the show, and moving it around was producing good results.

I had Ancient (1.5X per card of a specific suit played), and Cavendish (3X flat). I also had Hanging Chad (retrigger first card twice).

Instead of copying Cavendish, I accidentally left Blueprint in front of Ancient and triggered it an extra 3 times - which equates to 3.375X.

And, on the occasion I had a Glass card, I could put Blueprint in front of Hanging Chad to trigger the 2X bonus 5 times instead of 3X, yielding a 4X overall gain.

-

For once, however, Amber Acorn was a little bit tricky. Firstly, I had Misprint, which normally reveals the identity of the next card to be dealt, but not when it is face down during AA. I also had Ancient, but failed to check which suit it needed to trigger before the start of AA, so I had to get a bit lucky and see what suit triggered it first - handy tip for the future is to make a note of what the cards say before starting the Ante 8 Boss Blind, so you don't get blindsided when the Jokers go face down!
