I can't say what the best is, but my favorite would be 2 Stroud's pan fried Chicken breasts with homemade mashed potatoes & Gravy and their Cinnamon rolls. Talk about being full for two days... Mmm Mmm!!!

The best meal i have ever had is the grilled cheese sandwiches at school.....HAHA Just Kidding.
My best type of food is mexican and chinese. I am a big chicken freak and love spicy chicken wings. I can eat those ANY day. But that is not a meal.
For my mexican dish i usualy ask for my Tampiquenia Steak. This comes w/ a big steak w/ mexican rice and beans, an enchilada, salad, guacamole and the steak is covered w/ melted masserala cheese mix w/ stips of chili's, onions and sliced tomatos. It is my favorite plate of all and to me it ownz the Mexican dishes. IT OWNZ!!!! 👍

Chinese i like just about every thing but my favorite would be there seseme chicken and the baby back ribs or w/e. Good Stuff.
Ima also a cottage cheese fan, i love cottage cheese and could eat it w/ just about anything. :odd:

Scratch what I said earlier – I just had the best meal of my life.

Lobster taquitos. I kid you not.

At the intersection of Highway 395 and 120, near Mono Lake, there's a Mobil gas station. But this gas station is like no other. Attached to it is a huge "convenience store", which just so happens to be a full-fledged gourmet restaurant, with the most interesting menu I've ever seen – the aforementioned lobster taquitos, steak caesar salad, buffalo meatloaf, and a few other weird things I can't remember off the top of my head.

Oh my goodness, that was the best (and weirdest) meal I've ever had. Bright red corn shells stuffed with taquito-meat-style lobster on a bed of black beans and what I think was cranberry juice, topped with fresh guacamole, and a salad (not iceburg) topped with mango and peach salsa.

It was the strangest-looking meal I've ever had, but it was so unbelievably good (I ate so fast my tummy hurt).

Stop there if you're ever in the area. And yes, it's a gas station.

I have decided with careful consideration that the meal I had in Port Meiron was not the best ever.

The best one ever was probably either at the Manoir (sp?) or at the "Oriental" in the Dorchester Hotel.

I remember the both being excellent but I have poor long term memory so therfore cannot remember what I had...

... but you do eat well!

I think that The Fat Duck is going a whole different way with its food. The chef is a really interesting guy. I'm not likely to go to the restaurant though.

The "best meal of your life" is rarely served by the best restaurant you go to, because it will normally just hit you in the back of the head when you're not expecting it.

For me, the best meal I've had in a long time was a long brunch at a place called The Living Room in Edinburgh. Duck Spring Rolls, followed by Eggs Florentine and Belgian Chocolate Waffles. Everything was exactly what I wanted and cooked to perfection.

Other honourable mentions go to the 20oz T-Bone steak I had at Sammy's in New Jersey; a full 4hr Chinese extravaganza at the (now closed) House of Mr Chan in Birmingham; and French fine dining at an establishment whose name I can't remember in Beaune (Burgundy).

I've found though that it's becoming increasingly difficult - in this country at least - to go to a restaurant and not come away disappointed, unsatisfied, or with a feeling that you've been ripped off.

When I finished school in 1997, I decided to go on a solitary hike in a remote region of Australia. During my adventure, I managed to injure an ankle, and I was unable to make it out of a gorge. I was found by a group hikers after six horrid and hungry days.
On the return car journey, we stopped in for some Mc Crap. You guessed it…the taste of stale Big Mac was overwhelmingly tasty. Best meal ever.
That's a scary story. I'm not an huge fan of McDonalds, but I can't believe how much people hate them. Big Mac is my favorite there.

That's a crazy story. I thought someone might have a story like this - where they had gone for so long without food that the very next meal was the best ever.

The only thing that I can relate is when I wake up at 3am seriously dehydrated and I go for water - good God water can taste good!

Holy cr*p, six days with no food, Mickey D's would seem like manna from heaven

Makes my story look pretty lame-arsed... but here goes anyway :D

At high school (2nd year, 1987), we did a sponsored fast... couldn't eat anything for 24 hours... so I went to bed at 10pm after a big supper, and then the next day, it was no food for me...

Come 9.30pm that night, my Mum was getting ready to make me some food to end the fast... she started cooking beef burgers and melted cheese over the top of them... I was standing in the kitchen and salivating like a rabid dog   On the stroke of 10pm (burger already in hand), I finally got to sink my face into it... :dopey: That was the best meal I ever had... (and I raised about £23 or something :sly: )

Rather than go out to eat a fancy meal, I can get my absolute favourite fantasy meal right at home.

I'd start with a bowl of my girlfriend's homemade French Onion Soup. Say what you will about the French and their cuisine, but there simply is no better soup money can buy.

Next I'd have a bowl of my own Caesar salad, with authentic homemade dressing made from anchovies, lemon juice, mustard, etc.

And now for the main course. A 12 oz. filet mignon wrapped in a strip of bacon, cooked medium rare, with Bullseye Grilled Onion & Garlic Showdown BBQ sauce for dipping (that's right, I dip my steak in sauce, got a problem with that?), with sweet corn Niblets and minced garlic & horseradish mashed potatoes on the side.

To drink I'd have a couple of pints of either Heineken or Hoegaarden from the tap.

For dessert, again, my girlfriend's homemade apple pie with French Vanilla ice cream.

2 places stick out in my mind, and both are in San Francisco:
Top of the Mark Restaurant @ the Mark Hopkins hotel.
the food was awesome, and it was also a buffet! while eating you also get a view of the city, since it is at the top of the hotel itself.

& last but not least, the best meal/best food i have ever tasted is at the Thanh Long restaurant, also in SF. http://www.anfamily.com/portalpage.asp
1 crab is now at $40.
and man the food there is to die for, everytime after we eat there my bro always says "man i could die now and ill still be happy". the crab sauce is so devine you can almost drink the oil its that good. 👍 👍
my family spent about $1000 for the family to eat there when my bro turned 21.

if you ever goto SF, and love Crab, or seafood in general, i suggest u visit that website and goto 1 of the restaurant locations. Eddie Murphy help them build a restaurant in L.A.

Maccy D's or KFC
Only one choice in the city
;)

I don’t hate MacDonalds. I don’t however fancy their pre made burgers that sit around for hours. Freshly made Krusty burgers are fine once in a while.

I had small bag of rice and a few oranges as backup food. The problem was that I burnt out my tiny pot, and it was difficult to get water and to make fire with a busted ankle. Love the fasting tale. My end of fast meal was minted roast lamb… the torture of the cooking aroma has never left me. :nervous:

Not the best, but still very good, is a meal exclusive to where I live(I don't know why it isn't in other countrys)it's called Poutine. It's made of fries, molten cheese with sausage.
