Ford haters often make sentences using the letters f-o-r-d. One such one was "****ed on Race Day," or something like that. But that's another story for another time.

Someone talked about an expensive car at an auction. What about that American car that sold for a whopping $400,000 at this year's Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale?

Hiya! :D :O

Oh...my..Goddess.. John, you just reminded me of how crazy those auctions can go at the Barret Jackson auction show on the Speed Channel. It's very amazing to me how such an old /antique car can be sooooooo much demanding to serious people who probably wanted a certain car back then when they were just a kid. The show taught me that performance is NOT EVERYTHING that will make the car worth so much, it can also be how old or antique it is! :O

But usually, the car that I think of that would be good for over 75,000 bux will extremly LIKELY be very worth it in my opinion! :O I also would Luv to have a Skyline R34 or a Corvette with a Lingenfilter upgrade(Lingelfilter CORVETTE!)

Oh, McLaren. It gets better. I think a GT-40 sold for $424,000 once. Whether you see the GT-40 as American muscle or European muscle, Barrett-Jackson is crazy. Expect more of the same next year weeks after my 22nd birthday.

And in case you give a damn, my b-day is January 15th, so I'm a Capricorn. Anyhow, more cars over $75,000, please!

Yeah those autions are amazing I think 2 years ago A Jag E type sold for $925,000 USD!!

You got to be kidding me? Shoot, with that sort of money, you can pretty much buy out a privateer team running at Le Mans or something! Probably won't knock off Alex Job or Racer's Group, but that's insane pricing there!

In reading an old Road & Track magazine, this company called Ameritech (McLaren fans, keep reading) made its own McLaren F1. I think this was the only time I've seen a McLaren F1 with only one seat. The person in the center drives it, as you well know. Asking price for one of those was in the neighborhood of $780,000, and optioned out, at least $1,000,000. So what did Dr. Evil say once in an Austin Powers movie? That's right: "One million dollars!" But with the Ameritech McLaren, it had these two bars under the headlights to better project the lights. It looked ugly, so you're better off seeing one in Europe. And even if you can't buy out Scuderia Ferrari (like THAT's going to happen within the next 5 years), you can probably still own one. Maybe if McLaren plans on making a new variant of the famed F1, who knows what that will be priced at? Or imagine like if the Murcielago has the Gallardo, what would a baby F1 be like?

More cars over $75,000, please. Meanwhile, I'll play some "Le Mans 24 Hours." Trying to wrap up this long overdue championship.

I believe the Ferrari 250 GTO holds the record for used car auction value at $7 million. Only the Bugatti Royale (6 in existence and one replica) is valued higher, but none have actually been auctioned.

Yeah that is crazy pricing but anyways which system are you playing "Le Mans 24 Hours." For?

Takumi Fujiwara
The Maserati MC12 GT. Essentially a racing version of the Ferrari Enzo.

Bastard, you beat me to it, that was going to be my choice, only 25 made. WEll it would be a Viper GTS but you can get one used under 75k so i'll have to think about it

Allow me to come up with an expensive enough car to fit this topic, and I'm going to do it with a car company I don't really mention. And that is Lotus. That Motorsport Elise does cost quite a lot of money, even though I think it's primarily for the track only (hence MOTORSPORT Elise). If that doesn't work, someone in the Motorsports/Rally threads replied to my "Successful Rally Cars" thread, and featured a sort of Lancia that looked pretty nice (not the Delta). What is this car and how much would it sell for? Looks like a $75K+ car...

I'm glad someone took heed of my "look for that Lancia in my 'Sucessful Rally Cars' thread." As am update, the car in question is the Lancia 037. It wasn't very successful in rally, but to me, it's the most decent-looking Lancia I've ever seen. I don't know if it would sell for top dollar at auctions or for club racing or whatever.

If I coud buy any car, over $75, 000, it would Be a 4 door HSV GTS, I love the that car, looks good, sounds good, is good.:)

The 037 is just marvellous and it sure does price more than 75k.

For me I'd choose the Maclaren F1, if it's going to be expensive than let us have the best.

Since a regular Elise doesn't pull in at 75,000, I'd have to say a Esthi Elise, then import it, it aughta' top out 75K$ (and 200mph).
