Nintendo Forum! This is nice. Thanks, Jordan. :) 👍

What is the best and the worst games you've played on GameCube? I think this might help the GameCube users with which games to look into, and which games to avoid.

My favorite is Mario Kart: Double Dash. Probably because my GC was mostly used at game nights with friends a lot. Gotta have those 4 controller ports. Game play is just unblievable in this game. You can do four players against one another, or 2-on-2(a driver & a gunner). I heard that there are a lot of unlockables in that game I didn't know about, so I'm gonna have to try the 1-player more.

My worst is probably the F-Zero. Another racing game. I loved the F-Zero for the Super NES, but this game, I just couldn't get into. I don't think it was so much with the quality of the game, but I just didn't like the futuristic settings of this game. I couldn't get used to the physics either, and I didn't really give it much chance. Good thing I paid just 10 bucks. :p

Edit:
I just read in another thread that it was actually Duke, who created the Nintendo Forum. Thanks again, Duke. 👍

Favorite games? Well, Animal Crossing and Super Smash Bros Melee sure were real good. Same thing with SW Rogue Leader.

The worst? I didn't really buy a lot of Gamecube games (nor will I in the future, since I just sold my 'Cube), but Super Mario Sunshine was overrated and not fun.

Resident Evil 4 was absolutely delectable. I purchased the PS2 version for the sake of the extras, though the graphical superiority (particularly the textures) of the Cube version had me coming back on a regular basis. I certainly agree with Duck about Sunshine, in that poor character design (island people in grass skirts are a particular annoyance) and the lack of Mushroom Kingdom fun add up to an under-whelming experience...pretty disappointing for a flagship title. Here’s hoping that Galaxy brings back some of the enjoyment that was so readily available in Mario 64. :dopey:

Favorite Games:

Resident Evil 4
Super Smash Bros. Melee
The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker (never finished it though)

Least Favorite Games:

Sonic Heroes :yuck:
Any Tony Hawk game (not enough buttons on the controller)
Crazy Taxi

Games that are OK, but not great:

Viewtiful Joe
Tales of Symphonia
Star Fox Adventures (don't expect a Star Fox game)

Games I want to try:

Eternal Darkness
Metroid Prime 1&2
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door
Baten Kaitos

Games that I am embarassed to like:

Sonic Adventure 2 Battle

The Best:

Super Smash Bros. Melee is the only Gamecube game I even really play on my GCN anymore...definitely one of the best games, if not the best, and I'm really looking forward to Brawl (even though Brawl has a really dumb themesong...Uematsu just can't come up with anything good anymore).

Metroid Prime was an excellent game, probably my vote for "Best GCN Game," but it didn't offer much in the way of replayability, so I don't play it anymore. Metroid Prime: Echoes has some really dumb backtracking in it (as a Metroid veteran, I know backtracking is to be expected, but seriously...) and the multiplayer mode is pretty worthless. I actually haven't finished Echoes, and I don't think I can summon the effort to do so.

Super Mario Sunshine was just Super Mario 64 with new stuff to do and new levels to explore. Not a bad thing, in my opinion.

The Worst:

The Need for Speed series is to be avoided if you have a Gamecube. I played the PC version of Hot Pursuit 2, which is identical to the GCN version except for a boost in graphics, and the PC version was bad enough on its own (the PS2 version of HP2 is actually a great game). I made the mistake of buying Need for Speed Underground 2 for the GCN. The video image is squished, the framerate is awful, and it looks like the game is being run in only 256 colors.

The game I thought I will never like, but changed my mind as soon as I played was Pikmin. I never got to beat it, but that game, I don't mind going back to.

Has Anybody played Resident Evil 0? I wonder if it's any good.......

Zero feels very much like the RE1 remake for GC. Beautiful presentation and pre-rendered backgrounds that are let down by awkward controls and camera work. It was great fun back in the day (changing between Billy and Rebecca in real time is cool, and the crazed monkeys are a laugh:crazy: ) though once you’ve sampled RE4; it becomes very difficult to go back to the clunky old gameplay.

That, I don't miss. :D Maybe I'll be better off just waiting for the next Resident Evil game.

Aside from the pretty grass and the ability to wack friendly dinosaurs with a stick:nervous: , I found that the game left me cold. I guess that’s a result of adaptation from the Dino Planet title that Rare was originally working on. I’m a big fan of Starfox on SNES/64, and hence, I’m looking for some first-hand impressions of the recent Namco Starfox Assault game. I’m aware that there are a few lame fps levels, though I’m keen to know if the space combat is good enough to warrant the purchase. Thoughts...

This has absolutely nothing to do with game cubes but I didn't know where else to make this post, so i chose this thread! Has anyone played Zelda: Majoras Mask on N64?

You could make a new thread about it...

Bent that game over my knee and spanked it...lol ;) Good game not as good as OoT but FAR better than The Wind Waker..."Hi I'm a 6 year old baby who is gonna save the cartoon world!....rriiight....that game was the worst EVER imo

Here's my lil' list:
Fav games in no order:
Metroid I and II
Soul Caliber II (yeah all because of Link, haven't tried III yet tho)
All Star Wars Games were well done, very smooth gameplay :D
Super Mario Tennis
Super Mario Strikers (Soccer)
Super Mario Kart
N64 Zelda Game Disc (Zelda I, II OoT and MM!!)

Worst Games:
Super Mario Sunshine
Wind Waker (Pure Insult and a slap in the face to any Zelda fan imo)
Any Pokemon

I can’t agree with you there, Jerome.:sly: Wind Waker was the first Zelda to truly hold my interest since the days of the SNES. Let’s not forget that the visual style of LttP was deliberately cartoony, and I fail to see how two N64 titles should mandate a “realistic” look for future titles. I found Wind Waker graphics and animation to be a breath of fresh air, and to be so much more immersive and expressive than the bland textures of the two previous titles. I'm certain that you’ll be delighted with the forthcoming instalment, but I’m sad to say that it just looks like another (albeit well made) 3D action game to my oldskool self.:)

The best GameCube game I have ever got was Resident Evil 4. It was the best to me because it was one of those games that gives the GC some muscles to compete with PS2's and Xbox's mature rated games. Although I still have both PS2 and GC version of RE4, I still find myself playing the GC version still. :)

My god...DO NOT PLAY OR TRY:

Godzilla: Destroy All Monster Melee.:grumpy:

I think the worst game I played on the Gamecube was the original console "Baldur's Gate" game. There was nothing actually wrong with the gameplay. I had issues with the rather noticeable slowdown in framerate.

Best? There are so many good games that have that great "Nintendo-ness" about them.

PS2 version is harder to beat... I've played them both. I have both systems. And i can tell. Still a kik ass game though.

I didn't even know that there was a third Zelda game! Was it the very first one of the series? Have you clocked all 3?

Speaking of the Ocarina of Time, did you find all Skultullas and Heart Containers?

Have you played James Bond, Golden Eye? That game rules too! Although I have only clocked it on Agent :) The Train stage is my best stage and the silenced pp7 is my favorite gun :)

My favourite game on the Gamecube is Metroid Prime.

Other great games are Eternal Darkness, Burnout 2 and Metroid Prime 2.

The worst? I don't know, maybe Red card, a strange soccer game:lol:

I still like the PS2 version better than the GC version since it have the extra features. I love to play as Ada Wong. :sly:

Can you count that as a Gamecube game? Both the Dreamcast and X-Box also got it, and the only current gen. system to not get it was the PS2. And that was becuase of the system limitations and incombatability when compared to the Dreamcast rather than exclusitivity.
Best:
Sonic Adventure 2: Battle
Super Smash Brothers: Malee
Animal Crossing
Wind Waker
Metroid Prime 2
Resident Evil 4
Viewtiful Joe
Worst:
Shadow the Hedgehog
Kirby's Air Ride
Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 (I hated it so much I actually e-mailed Gamespot to see why they rated it so high. Then they told me to "get a PS2 you whiney kid" and buy the PS2 version).

F-zero gx was a brilliant game, but i found the story mode way to difficult-althought the graphics were stunning

I've only actully really had the chance to play Mario Kart, and I've only played it drunk, but it was still damn fun. Even though how terribly bad I was at it, I enjoyed it heaps.

Best Game: Resident Evil 4
Bought a game cube for that alone. :dopey:

The worst gaming experiences I've had with the gamecube were on MGS:TwinSnakes and Metroid Prime.
Both suffered from the GC's controller limitations and a lack of button config options to solve the problem. Metroid ran a single primary joystick in a FPS. :yuck: I need the modern standard of 2 joysticks.

With that aside, games like "Call Of Duty" were awesome on the game cube. A simple well designed shooter from a multi-platform developer is As Good or Better than any of the other systems (Excluding Xbox specific games ;) ).

Games I would like to play on the GC:
Not really sure about this but Rogue Squadron seems like a fun game that I'm sure is visually impressive.

Three words describe the best GameCube game: "Resident Evil Four". Mario Kart Double Dash is great...but the Resident Evil remakes were just fan-freaking-tastic. Star Wars Rebel Stirke III is also a great game...VERY frustrating but great nonetheless. Infact almost all Star Wars games are a pain in the ass. I also own Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles but never played it.

THREAD RESURRECTION!!! :scared:

The best of the Gamecube's 1337nes is definately the Resident Evil series. (even the older ones are still good fun! 👍)

REmake was just pure brilliant horror, (and still is) it looks as good as a next-gen game, awesome replay value, well-designed areas and enemies, it's what made the Gamecube rise above it's kiddie image.

RE0 was just as technically brilliant as REmake. And I quite enjoy the team-based gameplay and the return to the lab area in RE2. :)

And RE4.... Oh what a masterpiece it is! Not as horror-ridden as a true RE game, (I'm still a little irked on that one. :ouch:) but still a very, VERY well-made game. Just good old blasting fun with a RE twist, not my favorite RE game, but VERY close to it. BTW, what keeps it from being my favorite is those damn button seqences!!!

Oh, and the worst of the Gamecube is any movie game, (but that goes without saying) and any racing game. (except Double Dash, of course)

How about this? Best or worst?

Sonic adventure 2 battle rocked!!!

metroid prime was awesome. truly.

NFS totally sucked for gc. And Most wanted SUCKS for PSP.

Actually, NFS Underground 1 was pretty good for GC
