The BEST thing about GT4 (music)

i think the classical music part is cool for a race game like this ;)

The classical stuff might be good for B-Spec or PhotoMode. I don't race with music on, I only hear it during replays and that's from a heavily edited GT3 playlist. Just for a laugh I turned the Snoop song back on, is it just me or is that the worst song in the history of recorded music?

hey this is a little off topic but how you change what it says below your name?
like where it says GTP Enthusiast on mine

dont you think all of the japanese people would much rather have their music sung in japanese and not english? i mean they dont understand it you know. I would hate to have some japanese music in my american game since i would have no idea what they were saying.

it doesn't matter whether you can understand what the singer is saying or not it's whether the music sounds good or not. I listen to rammstein alot do I understand german? no

yeah right, GT2 had the best music... those 5 tracks altogether... i was so fed up with taht fatboy slim after 2hrs endurance, and constantly the gamed played only one track....

now, i noticed that there is alsko Erik Satie in GT4 soundtrack. this surely isn't music for racing, so where is it played, in menus?
don't get me wrong, Satie is one of my favorite classical composers, but i wouldn't race with that playing on.

and in the end, the music list doens't matter with me beacuse i am usually listening to my mp3player while playing...although that coul change, because i wanna hear the 'realistic' engine sonuds and wind whoosh effect

What are you talking about??????
GT2 had the worst music out of all the GT games so far. Some tracks where ok but i will never forget that pathetic slow song which went "and you daddy" and all that rubish.

I personally love GT's famous elevator music that it has in the menus.

Oh yeah, queens of the stone age and Papa Roach.Love to drive with Guns 'n Roses to 👍

I think this tracklist looks pretty good. I just adore Syntax (awsome music, it's just a shame it's a remix and not an original that's in), Crystal Method are good and Summersong brings back memories from Formula One for the PS. And as there's alot of different kinds of music, you can set it for whatever music you favor.
The only song from GT3 I do like Aisha with Death in Vegas. But apart from that I dislike or hate the rest. Don't remember much from GT1 and 2 right now, but I know I had a couple of favorites, so some good songs atleast. Sweet 16 with Feeder and a few songs by Garbage is all that comes to mind.

I agree with you about Syntax (I haven't heard the remix though).
I also like 'Hell Above The Water' by Curve
Also you can never have too many versions of 'Moon Over The Castle' :)

Gt1 had pretty good music :D I especially liked the Japanese song that had a "Bonjoooour" soundbyte.
GT2 has some rather atrocious music in comparison: I mean, it's rather trashy. Especially so with Rob Zombie...

I actually havn't heard the Dave London Dub either. I've heard a little of the Dave London Remix of Pray though, and what I heard wasn't good. I hope the "dub" is better.

If you ever go to Japan... you'll be amazed of how wrong you are. There is a lot of use of the English language in advertisements everywhere because it sounds "cool" to them or somthing, but only a few can speak it...

When I was in Japan I found quite alot of Japanese people that could speak basic english. I do emphasize very basic english.

A friend of mine is just back from tokyo, and told me it was nearly impossible to make you understand in English... "it's even worse than in our country", she said (I live in Spain :D:D:D)

I've been to Japan and I didn't really come across anyone that could speak English well enough to makes much sense out of them, it's nothing like Europe for example where nearly everyone speaks very good English, as for the Music in GT4 there are some really cool songs in there and you can add them to your replay music list and make a playlist of all your nest replays of you powersiding the ring, then sit back and relax, I swear it's better than most Music videos! : ) Panama, Panama : ) had me up and dancing in front of the tv today :p embarasing but true!

I never liked the music in the GT series.
I hate rock music (my opinion, please respect it) so I always turn it of.

The only music that's good for a race game is either Techno/dance/house/.... or Rap/R&B and HipHop.

In real life there's notting better than driving around while listening to 'Lean Back' (or others).

Just my 2 cents

Its a shame we cant have custom soundtracks on GT4 like some XBox games

Ive been to Tokyo and Osaka and most understood me and spoke back in basic english (hand signals helped), I even went into a Nissan Showroom and have a basic conversation about Skylines to some Japanese Nissan lady, she ended up giving me some great books.

I like a couple of songs in GT4... especially Feeder's one and Judas Priest one. The range of classical music is nice too for replay mode but I generally turn the music off for short races as I like to hear my car's Engine sound. I havent attempt any endurance yet and I think I wil pick Classical songs for longer races

One of my favourite songs is the Faithless remix of Favorite Game by the cardigans. It was the intro music to GT2 and I have it on Vinyl :)

I kind of like having music over the races... it tends (to me at least) to became very bored after hearing the engine sound for too much time, specially when you are racing a lowpowered car in a long term race (like those ones from GT3 were you have 10 laps or so), so music creates a distraction to keep me unbored :P

But i gotta agree, the music selection could be better...

Let's just hope you can change the volume ratio in gt4. The thing I hated most about gt3 was that sometimes I wanted the music a little louder and sometimes I didn't want it quite so loud.....but there was nothing I culd do because the only options were on/off and no independent volume control.......

If any of you say that you went to Japan and everyone understood you.....and you were in Okinawa I'm gunna laugh. Okinawa is too American, in fact, in Japan there's a joke that there was a man who dreamed his whole life of living in America because he had seen some in Okinawa.......only to move there and find that America was all Japanese! The American's were all in Okinawa. lmao

This, my friend, is why God invented your stereo. ;) 👍

Also, I have 3 japanese friends which I speak with over the net on a nightly basis. Most of what they say is borderline 4 year old in comparison to normal english, but one of them has been taking english lessons since he was 5. I find it quite ROFLarious when he attempts american slang.

A little gem - if you're reading this, Tsubasa, forgive me -

"I checked the fly out with my friends at a party. She was off of hooks."

This would have been a good idea...

Polyphony release a special editon GT4 pack that contained a USB Flash drive - for downloaded pics to and also to store your own music tracks to play while racing...

Hindsight eh?

Personally I love Feeder's "Just A Day" & the Death In Vegas track from GT3. Some trancy kind of stuff similar to what you'd find in Wipeout would have been good too.

hey i found some new songs added into the game not on the first track list, just a few i found on the granturismoworld site

franz ferdinand - michael

Oh no! :yuck: Definitely be playing with 'BGM OFF'... and Yello ('Oh Yeah')? WTF... :ouch:

I dont see how anyone can moan about this selection of music, most racing games are a complete joke when it comes too selection of music, they seem too have something for everyone this time like , dance , rock , classic , pop im impressed. I did like the music in prolouge mind you any of the tracks still in gt4?
