This movie kicks more ass than a barrel of monkeys getting kicked by a bouncer. Check out imdb if you haven't seen it. Two brothers kill mobsters in the name of God. Awesome.

And when is the sequel going to be released? I heard about it, it was supposed to be released on all saints day, but it was pushed back.

I've seen it a few times, my friends swear to me that it's the awesomest film ever, but I think that the movie is kind of overrated.

The plot is average, and the Irish accents of the two brothers are absolutely horrid.

Those things aside, I will agree that the movie is pretty cool, and there's some sweet action scenes.

I love the cat getting blasted on the kitchen table too.

I'll give it a C+

I agree with SublimeDood, the movie isn't all that great. A lot of style and no substance. I used to work at Blockbuster, and it would get rented all the time, and someone reccomended it to me. So I took it home and watched it and hated it. All I can say is Don't believe the hype. And don't EVER use IMDB as a true ratings source; it's all user ratings. I don't like reading actual critics' reviews of movies, why would I like reading a bunch of morons' reviews? Just because you have internet access doesn't make you a movie expert.

I'll take the opinion of hundreds of thousands over one any day.

Agreed 👍

We rented it a hungover sunday afternoon many many moons ago - it rocked so much we had to buy it. Since then, I've seen it many times and enjoy it just as much when we put it on !...

As always LM - You right !......

I never claimed to be a movie expert. I was simply using my employment at Blockbuster as an anecdote to illustrate my story. You can go ahead and take the opinions of thousands of internet users who use IMDB as gospel, but I sure as hell won't. And I suspect you'll take the opinions of thousands over one any day those thousand share your opinion on the subject. Tell me, if you hated Boondock Saints as much as I do, would you be as quick to take the thousands of IMDBers who've rated it as a good movie over one who said it sucks?

Well I don't think I'd take their opinion as gospel, but if they seemed to like it I'll at least give it a go. I'd rather talk to someone I know personally first.

If I read that someone liked Omega Code, no I probably would cease to value their opinion in future movie shopping. Or Fast and Furious ... etc etc ... but there are lots of other people who do like the movie who have good taste. If you're looking at a group you have to take that into concideration. Unless you yourself have bizzar taste in movies, then the masses tend to be a good judge for your movie selecting.

I agree that hearing an opinion from someone you know well who's seen the movie is worth a million critics' reviews, and about 20 billion IMDB reviews.

I saw this movie a while ago.It was very over-the-top, but for some reason I loved it. Willen Dafoe's gay FBI agent character was absolutely hilarious.

Well the first scene where connor punches a feminist was cool, after that they shoot a buncha mobsters including one played by ron jeramy, (It was very satisfying to watch his fat ass getting torn up by bullets) beer, and a gay guy who calls people fairies, sissies, and fags. Very good irish pride movie, also good if violence is your thing. The dialogue is questionable although the prayer kicks ass. But what do I know, I'm just taking 2 cinema courses and planning to major in theater.

Yeah but you're just one guy so your opinion is worthless.

(:

(that's meant as a joke, by the way)

well a friend recomended it to me and i must say it was so awesome that i bought it and have seen it at least 50 times. i love all the shootouts. they are excellent.

Thread From The Dead!

So I'm trying to figure out why everyone that attends college loves this movie so much. From what I saw it's not bad, per se - good action scenes, interesting concept. But a lot of movies have that, and do it better. Plus you've got Willam Dafoe overacting and a ton of cheesy dialogue.

What's the major appeal here?

I don't get its' "cult-favorite" status either. I rented it quite while ago. It definitely would be closer to my "worst list" than the best.

Oh, well. Whatever floats your boat.
