THE SERIES PAGE IS NOW UP ON GT5RACECENTRAL.COM! HEAD OVER THERE FOR ALL INFORMATION AND SIGN UPS!
The second series I'm working on for this spring/summer is the BR-Z/GT86 Cup (working title). This will be an 18 round, untuned racing series over 10 weeks. 8 nights will run a 2 race format, with each race running about 20 - 30 minutes each. The other two rounds will be endurance races, just to mix it up (more details below.) This will act as a sort of support series for the Formula Gran Turismo World Championship, as the schedules are very similar.
Cars Allowed
- Subaru BR - Z
- Scion FR - S
- Toyota GT86
I understand that there are several versions of what became the Toyota GT86 in the game. At this time, I haven't done my research on the performance figures of these cars, so this list may grow to include them. You will be asked to run the same car throughout the whole series. For instance, if your first race is in a Subaru BR - Z, you must run the entire series in a Subaru BR - Z. You can have more then one car of your choice, as long as you run with the same brand. You can also change the appearance of your car(s), including paint, rims, and body kits, if you so choose. And of course, you can change your car's oil when needed.
Race Format
For nights with two races:
- 30 minute practice/qualifying session
- Race #1, 20 - 30 minutes in length, grid order set by qualifying session
- 10 minute practice session
- Race # 2, distance of race #1 +1 lap, grid order will be the reverse finishing order from the first race
- No pit stop required for either race
For nights with 1 race:
- 30 minute practice/qualifying session
- 45 - 55 minute race, 1 mandatory pit stop that can be taken anytime before the last lap
Schedule
1. Tokyo R246
2. Suzuka Curcuit East
3. Laguna Seca
4. Rome
5. Circuit de la Sarthe** (endurance race 1)
6. Spa
7. Monza
8. Trial Mountain
9. Nurburgring 24h** (endurance race 2)
10. Indianapolis Road Course
*Tie - breaker round at the Nurburgring Nordshelife.
**Both endurance races happen to be on circuits with day to night transitions. We will use that for both of these rounds! No weather changes, though.
Number of laps will be determined in the near future.
Points
A win will be 10 points, second will be 9 points, third will be 8 points, and so on down to 1 point for positions 10 - 16.
Other Room Settings
Drver Aids: ABS Only (this may change)
Penalties: Will vary depending on location
Boost: Off
Grip Reduction: Real
Slipstream: Weak
Tires: RH (?) or harder
Tire Wear/Fuel Rate: Probably normal, but haven't decided yet
This series is also being promoted on gt5racecentral.com, and is also up in that site's forums as well. My PSN ID is flip157, feel free to add me. Comment below if you're interested; feedback is always welcome and will be considered. It's looking like this will run on Monday nights, times and dates will be coming soon. The series will also start in late May.
