I had no clue that beast was real  edit .. well going to be real
after I watched the whole video
Whats your thoughts on the video?

Its in Gran Turismo TV fyi

Until I see it take to the track, I could still care less about it tbh.

Is this about the video where they build the model of the X1 for that show?

Because I don't think Polyphony Digital or Red Bull Racing have the money (to waste, in RBR's case) to build an actual X1. And if they did... why bother? No-one could drive it, it's not up to safety standards, and they wouldn't be able to earn any of their money back by entering it in competitions.

That's alot of work for the workers for a damn generic car.

Until its a real car(not a model) than its pretty irrelevant,
Its all fine and well saying its the best there is or ever can be but thats ALL theory,
The engine could blow on the first corner(in real life) for all we know,

Reminds me of Da Vinci's helicopter design,

Amazing in theory, completely unpractical and possibly unusuable in real life.

If a car geek that saw the x1 in the game ends up becoming a billionaire then they could make this car in real life :p (highly unlikely though)

It's a complete flight of fantasy, I doubt it will ever be more than that.

I'd love to see it made, but I have more chance of winning the lottery than seeing that happen.

Red Bull have the money and the knowhow don't worry about that. If they were to build it it would be built for PR, not for earning money in races.

It was just a model. It doesn't work. :P

As for it ever becoming a reality, well.. it could happen. As for a driver capable of driving it and setting a hot lap in it.. not gonna happen. 8.75G is just too much.

Well, they may have the money, but why waste it on a car that will never race when they could spend a fraction of as much cash to just send Vettel, Webber, Newey or someone else on tour?

Actually, I thought the video was a complete waste of time. Told me nothing that I didn't already know about the car. In fact, the original "reveal" trailer had more actual information in it.

And the one that Red Bull built.. it's not real. It's just a life-sized mockup. It's highly doubtful they'll ever build it as a functional car. And even if they did, no one would be able to drive it.

They built the GT by Citroen for real, you never know

Well nothing really would compare to saying look at our new car it is the fastest thing ever created, just sending their stars on tour would not have anywhere near as big an impact as actually seeing the car.

Thats all from me on this topic as I don't really want to get into another arguement about the X1.

Yer its just a 1:1 scale model of what it would look like that they made for the museum i think.

I think teh guy who designed it made a comment that if they tried to actually build teh car it would be in the 100million figure.
Personally i think F1 is most boring form of motor racing atm, all the drivers know courses liek back of their hand, they know when to overtake ect. I think they should bring in an Extreme Championship with cars based on the X1/2010. It'd make it a helluva lot more interesting sure over the years that too would become stale but for the first 5-10 years while people get used to the new cars and speeds round courses it'd be interesting and i believe it would advance motorsports in a better way

I disagree. Red Bull may have the money to physically BUILD the car, but the amount of R and D that would also have to go into designing the car would be WAY more expensive than the actual build. Seeing as how the car would be completely useless (unraceable, unsellable) I dont see why Red Bull would throw away tens if not hundreds of millions of dollars for a car that has no profitability.

If Red Bull were smart they should spend that RD money developing a car than can run on Red Bull.... they would make billions considering its still much cheaper than gasoline!

I wasted 250mb of my internet:banghead:

Although it wass very nice to see the model under construction, I would've expected more from Kaz and Newey on the dynamics and physics of the car:irked:

It is fair to say that Red Bull must be an awful lot cheaper to produce.

But in the UK at least they'd have to reduce the retail price by a huge amount to make it cheaper than petrol. In the UK the retail price of RB at least £4 per litre compared to petrol at about £1.30.

Their profit margin per litre must be genuinely extraordinary compared to oil companies. More even than those figures first suggest. Remember that much of the £1.30pl for fuel is made up of fuel tax so a lot less of it goes to the fuel producers/suppliers than you might first think. The fizzy drinks people get a much larger share of the £4pl+ they're charging for their shiny tins.

No wonder they can afford to run 2 F1 teams and all the rest of the branding stuff they do. They do all that to create a dominant brand and make it more difficult for new companies to enter their incredibly lucrative market. But now I'm really digressing into OT economic tedium...

I'd like to see someone drive in reverse at 190 kph

Well seeing that you think im a kid must means your a grown man ... a grown man that tryING to start crap on the internet .. GOOD JOB

I guess me editing didnt hint to some that the preview made it seem as if the car was real UNTIL I watched the video after I made this thread.. but eh what ever
