Last night i went to an advance screening of the new film "The Island" and partway through (about 2/3rds) the main character is driving, you guessed it, the Cien! The owner of the car in the film said it was a $500,000 v-12, 800+ horsepower car. I had known that it was a concept car that Caddilac had put on the show circuit but this was the first time i had seen it driving and such. Very cool if they ever make a production car out of it.

Yeah I saw the commercial too and this car really looked like the cien. But even if it becomes a production car it will be overpriced

That, and you could make popcorn in the time it takes for this car to shift. /sarcasm

who cares? they could just make it a limited edition of 100 and they could sell it for a million...oil sheichs and car collectors buy everything that is expensive and exclusive.

When the car was initially created, it was said to have 1001 HP, I believe.
:odd: Uh, no. The concept car was claimed to have 750hp. I'd be mildly surprised if it actually had a working engine though.
There is the faint glimmer of hope for me that this movie generates so much hype for the car that they end up producing it. It would be a great capstone for the image of the new Cadillac. Mostly I just think it's the coolest thing GM has ever done.

The engine actually ran at the car's intro; it is essentially just two small block chevys. I recall that it did burn some oil even in the few minutes it ran at the press intro.

However, I'd bet the car in the movie is all CGI.

They used two of the 3.8 V6 versions of the smallblock then? I guess that's easier then putting two 'shortstars' together, which is what the engine was supposed to be (essentially).

CGI or not, I'm seeing this movie.

Why was this thread moved from the GT4 boards, I put it there because it was most relevant, being the cien is in the GT4 and shows up in a current film...?

Have you seen the new GM ads they run in Canada talking about how they have the top 3 plants in initial quality, or something, the Cadillac exec appears to be standing in front of the Cien when talking.

As does the Sixteen and another concept.
