Welcome to the GTP Cadillac CTS-VR Gentleman's Cup Presented by Derek Speare Designs

Hello and welcome to the GTP Cadillac CTS-VR Gentlemen's Cup Presented by Derek Speare Designs, a 6 week championship using only the basic content open to all GTPlanet having an iRacing membership. There's no minimum license or iRating requirement, only requirement is to use your best judegement and on track conduct. The full sporting code will be on effect. Race distance will be anywhere between 30 and 45 minutes depending on track.
The chmpionship schedule is still to be determined and will be no longer than 6 races.

-Every racer will be allowed 2 fast tows per race.
-All driving aids will be banned with the exeption of autoclutch.
-All racers must be on track on time for qualifying at 20:00GMT.
-Qualifying format will be 15 minute of "free qualifying".
-The race will start imediately after qualifying.
-The sporting code is in full effect and no black flags will be cleared.
-There will be no full course cautions, only enforced local yellows.
-Text chat is not to be used during qualifying and voice chat will be kept to a minimum during the race.

Thanks to Jav for taking the lead of this promising series. Let's just say that using the basic content is a good idea and that you can count on me (and others, please ) to transfer money or open race sessions so that you don't end up ruining yourself with hosted sessions!

Sign me up, I hope I can keep up and be respectable in time. I love iRacing for the most part with clean drivers. I agree with sandbox Watkins Glen, Mid Ohio, Mosport would be great. I am sure you might be thinking Slime Rock as well.

I am in for any tracks you guys want. Just curious would there be any type of handicap for the lower split guys? I'm thinking if some of you "A" class guys will be much faster then us lower licensed guys. What do you think?

Sounds good to me. My current subscription only lasts a few more months.. so hopefully they come out with a renew special soon.

I only have basic content right now, but was planning on adding a few tracks once I get the subscription thing taken care of.

As far as the handicap system that was mentioned.. yeah there are a few drivers here that are quite the aliens. I am thinking, though, we will all have at least a few people to race with.

Maybe we can get some of the aliens to give us a 1 lap head start.💡

I renew mine on your guy's (USA) Black Friday, iRacing puts a 1 year renewal for $49 so if you time it right you can get a annual deal which is half price. Remember you can top up your renewal any time as well.

If I recall correctly, when we had the GTP Jetta TDi series every session had practice, qualifying and then the race. I'm pretty sure Jav will follow the same format.

I sucked in that series by the way, so don't worry about my skills in this one!

That Jetta is hard to drive, sounds like a vacuum cleaner and not much power until it gets going. I find all those small cars very difficult to drive.

It's a weird one alright. I just couldn't get any decent results with the bloody thing! The series was fun though...
