Another update, race laps now 6 plus 1 for the warm up/formation lap.

And, 1 pit stop is compulsory.

I would say I want to join next time but I'm allset with using racing tires on a road car, no offense. I like to be realistic, gt5's only a sim if you treat it like one. Brilliant idea though, great car/track combo

Yes, I agree with you. But with the nature of this car, and adding power to it and it being so light, it still can swing out quickly on softs and without having the LSD. I would run it on sports tyres, but most races have to be user friendly to get drivers involved...and the 7 is not a normal road car...

Have you driven the car?

jkt008 has had to pull out of this race as he has a pre organized race to attend that starts too close to the end of this race.

So there is a spot open for one driver!

Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question, but I don't watch F1 (surprisingly, as a car guy, I watch MotoGP), but if I'm on the last lap, can I pit then? I'm not sure if there's a time advantage in doing this, paying for it in a strategic way by not having fresh tires, more fuel, ect But if you're good enough it'd be a cheap way to 'half' get out of the pit stop. Of course, if you've got someone close behind you anyway, you're doomed, but still, just curious, I won't be doing that myself even if it is legal, I know I'll need the tires.

Yea, we can pit whenever. There's no pit window.

The horsepower is 207hp? I didn't notice that at first. I have driven it, I actually have 8 of them. I don't think I asked but what does racing compounds mean? Does that mean all racing compounds?

Tom, yes, racing compounds basically means no restriction on tyres, and as a pit stop is compulsory it looks like using the softs is a no brainer.... unless it rains ....

Thanks for confirming that Jim. By the way, I like the Japanese Kanji character on your avatar.

Again, can I ask everyone kindly to confirm if they are in or out for the race.
Please send me an FR when you can, don't want any last minute messin' 'round.

Thanks.

Guys, just note that the weather settings will be reset before the warm up lap (this is to keep the realism of Quaky being on a different day to the race) doing this will most likely mix up the fastest times/grid positions so remember your Q position and take to it on the warm up lap.

Thanks.

Seido, it's actually the Chinese character for water which Greenpeace are using for World Water day....which was yesterday.

Will drop in if I'm about at 4am Livewire.

I know it means water, (mizu: みず in Japanese)the same character is used in Japanese, a lot of Chinese characters based the Japanese language but now Japan has 3 kinds of writing haha... Kanji, Hiragana and Katakana... むずかしいい!

So you're now MizuJim! lol

Qualifying, the time allowed will only permit 2 laps so basically one timed lap for your grid position.
So when the Q session starts, everyone should be in the pit lane and going by that order each driver will take to the track with 15 second intervals.
This way we won't get in each others way and ruin Q laps.

Thanks.

Yes that is what I feared. In almost all situations, it's best to use racing softs, so if I were to join the race, I'd be at a big disadvantage because I don't use racing soft tires, I feel they're unrealistic, so I stick to racing hard and below. I guess I could join anyways and see how I do with the hards but I just lack excitement for a race I have no chance of winning, even with such an awesome track/ car combo. I hope they add a caterham r500 as DLC, the caterham is one of my favorite cars. In my opinion all racing games should have a caterham, radical, and an ariel atom, in addition to all the supercars and GT's. It's such a great contrast, it makes any game more enjoyable

Right you are Seido, I am honoured to accept my new name.... perhaps it will help if it rains? : )

With someone only 15 secs behind me I will try not to mess up their quali lap!

Tom, if you can manage a 9:20 on RH tyres, which I suspect is possible, you'll be ahead of me....

I know I'm not fast, I just love driving cars...

Thanks for showing up everyone.

After the warm up lap, and not even before the North loop section I was disconnected... couldn't believe....bummed, got a good turn out and I practiced a fair bit and was looking forward to some good racing... my best prac lap was 9:11.XXX and that lap had a 2 small mistakes in it too...

I think another should be had.... how was it for everyone else?

That sucks Seido, I say next time we restart if someone gets disconnected that soon.

Good race, but I sucked. Should have used my softer tune, but I didn't expect it to rain the whole race. Oh well, maybe next time.

I hope we can do it again, especially since Seido didn't get to race.

Disconnected before qualy, tried to join, but got disconnected on all 4 occasions.
Pretty sure it wasn't my connection...

....GT5 servers, what a let down!

I'm up for a repeat again!

Anyway, who was the top 3? prizes are still standing!

Ok, so there will be another enduro on Saturday 30/3
Let me know if your in please and state what time you prefer.

At the moment it's 3:00pm AEDT

Livewire, I agree, I'd've been happy to restart.

Saffy, is your PS3 connected directly to your router with an ethernet cable?....and clearing your cache from the options menu in GT5, prior to each race, may help, it's supposed to reduce lag anyway.

6 laps in the rain was exhausting Seido!! It was a proper challenge. A third lap on the Rain tyres was very tricky, just possibly, if I'd pitted before the final lap MrTopCat wouldn't have come first!? I came second (blimey, the rain prac did pay off : ), I can't remember 3rd, sorry, and Livewire, you were 4th I think?

3:00pm AEDT is 4am GMT .... too late for me.
The 30th March is a Friday?

Thanks again for setting this up Seido, and really hard luck for getting booted.

Mizujim,

Yea, let's keep in mind to restart if even 1 driver gets booted on the first lap.

Yea man, it is much more a challenge in the rain. I did a enduro at Spa which rained the whole race, that was 286kms. I was 1st on the last lap and got booted!

30th is a Saturday. That time isn't set yet it may be later... keep checking :)

*Good to see another driver that likes the challenge of wet weather racing...and no ABS, respect.

Hi, I'm sorry I had the days confused, and the last couple of days were so busy I was about to post 'sorry I won't be able to race tomorrow morning' just too tired. I went out ot a mates place Saturday night, which quickly became Sunday morning (what I realise now is, the race was also on Sunday morning my time as well, where as I thought it was Sunday 'evening' US time) and by the time I got home it was a bit after 6am, so I might've missed it at that point?

But it gets better, because I had the day confused for this, but also the week confused for an engagement party of another friend, which was due to start in 5 hours after I got home, so instead of a 3 hour nap, I forced myself to stay up - and I made it, and got through it without falling over! Got home at 5:30pmish and woke up minutes ago, to remember 'oh no tomorrow morning I have that Caterham race!' and now it turns out I missed it.

So sorry about that, didn't intend to bail, was planning on giving it my best shot... til I realised I missed it, and before that that I'm simply too tired, having stayed up for 30 odd hours atleast, but I'm the victim of my own poor planning of the past days events, and this was the one that was effected in the end.

EDIT:

After the warm up lap, and not even before the North loop section I was disconnected... couldn't believe....bummed

I think another should be had.... how was it for everyone else?

Woah! Damn, well, just as well that I missed it I guess. 30th at 3pm AEDT, I think I can manage that - if another tornado hits me preventing me from racing again, I'll let you know, but all things being equal I think I'll remember it this time. What a shame eh? Gee, well, I'm sure you're not the first host, nor by a long shot the last, for the GT5 servers to disrupt, is a bit surprising since I'd imagine you'd have to be extremely close to them physically, but these things happen.

The 30th March is a Friday in Blighty !!!!!
These timezones are starting to weird me out : )
...and it's probably a Wednesday for Conza !!!

Another thing, the start was missed when we were ending the formation lap. I had to send a msg saying "go!"

The pole position driver starts the race when he crosses the split time at the END of the BACK straight.

I really enjoyed that rolling start... it gave me a chance to shake out the nerves but they all came back when we rolled around to the back straight lol
Would be sweet as if we could get another to driver to be the pace car in the Skyline GT-R Pace Car, smooth out the warm up lap...

Hope we can get the driver numbers up for this weekend! Start putting your name in!
