The Corvette z06. Good?

Alright, you enthusiasts you. I need some feedback. I don't have a PS3 yet but I was curious how the Z06 is (in professional physics mode of course).

It's probably my favorite car in real life and I was curious since I will likely be driving it a lot. Can it be competitive against all the kids online that are using tuned Evos and Lotus stuff? What is the plural for Lotus anyway, Lotii? Lotuses?

With the right driver and the right tuning, you can easily beat Elise-idiots. Especially on Daytona, you have to work a bit harder on other tracks though.

Well i still have to find a good setup but i keep on losing it in fast corners, its able to beat Ford GT's though

I find it's an exciting car to drive, but not the best for handling. It's great fun on the Daytona track though because in Pro physics mode the tail end just slides out on it's own in the curves no matter what speed you're doing.

I always considered them similar cars but the Ford GT would have the edge in cornering and overall lap times. That's a bit of a shocker to me.

Also, has the sound gotten any better with the Spec II update? No videos are up on youtube for me to check.

Bah, youtube is awful for sound anyway. The best advice is for you to wait and see, don't let our opinions affect yours before you even have the game.

Oh, and my Jag beats Ford GT's every day extremely easily, I can't imagine the Corvette having much trouble either, especially the tuned version.

Regardless on if the sound isn't improved or not, I'm still getting a PS3 and this game (or at the very least, GT5). It's just a matter of my wallet being a bit light. Youtube is good to see if they're hitting the overall sound - it's quite easy to tell the difference between GTR2 and GT5 for example. GTR2 has that raw sound, straight cut gear whine, etc. and I wanted to know how much of that was in GT5P if any, that's all.

Stop it already, ok ? I'm getting the impression that all of the sudden, here on GTP, everyone driving a Elise is a moron. That's not true. Just because the Elise is the most used car doesn't mean there are no "noobs" in other cars. I myself drive the Elise and I've seen plenty clean Elise drivers..but also enough wreckers in other cars. I just like to drive the Elise, just like many other people... thank you very much for your understanding 👍

Well the Ford GT does get faster lap times than the Z06 in the right hands, to most people though the Ford GT is just too hard to keep the rear in check to get fast times. The Z06 is easier but still a challenge to get the power to the ground but less likely to snap like the GT does.

I agree. Elise drivers are not all "idiots" as mentioned in this thread. I play most of my online race with this car simply because I had a lot of fun tuning it and making it my own.

I assume you are talking about the Z06 tuned. A friend of mine loves it. And with his setup I must it's very capable.

Sorry, I never meant to suggest that all Elise drivers are bashers or anything, but then I have never really said that, I have just referred to the Elise drivers that do bash. Perhaps I should word it better next time, I have raced against good Elise drivers many a time, unfortunately, there are more people driving Elise's than any other car and the more people that use them, the more awful drivers there are, especially because it seems to have become the "instant-win" car to some people.
There are plenty of bad drivers in other cars too, it's not as noticable though because of how many Elise drivers I see in every single online loading screen, they always make up the majority of the grid.

No, they're not all idiots. But with a disproportionate amount of players picking that car, there are going to be more wankers involved. It'd be the same with any car chosen - I just wanted to make sure that the z06 is not going to be at a disadvantage given driver skill is equal.

A good racer is a good racer and I'd love the opportunity to tear some track up with them, regardless of the cars involved. I love Lotus, believe me. I just hate people that pick an automobile purely because it's the easiest to drive and/or the best in the game like so many people do. Those are the wankers.

Agree completley, plus is so sweet when you beat them with an unexpected car.
