So i just bought this car to see what the hype is all about. My first impression. This car is bloody hard to control. It's just mad around the corners. How did this car do so good at the ring with the 140 corners?

As said its pretty easy to drive and there are nearer to 78 corners on the Nordshliefe not 140.

Just so everyone knows nurburgring times don't mean much because each manufacture does it their own way. There is no standard to go by. For example the ACR had an entire team of dodge engineers there for quite a while adjusting everything to get it just right, while chevy for the 2011 z06 carbon(don't know about the zr1) just used factory settings and tires.

Well, there's really no difference since the ZR1 isn't adjustable. The Viper was set up, but still 100% stock. Also the ACR only did a few laps. But agreed, Nring times aren't very important.

And GT5's accuracy makes real life Ring times even less important for in game cars.

Driver mod. Never, under any circumstances, underestimate the power of the driver mod.

It used slicks. :)

*prepares flame shield for Corvette lovers*
Now now buddy, all the top cars use the Michelin "slicks" anymore, because one used them, now they all have to in order to be competitive.

Corvette is the best handling car in the game IMO. If you can't get them around a corner, perhaps you should do some lisence tests, not to be rude or anything...

After playing around with the car, i have come to a conclusion. The madness around the corners actually makes it fun for some reason! Not a bad car to powerslide in.

But it's not the best handling car in the game

I think you may have it backwards. Chevy were there for probably most part of a year tweaking and tuning the ZR1 to be dominant on the Nurburgring. Similar to the GTR in that respect. They probably logged 50-100 laps in the ZR1 on the Ring over that time period fine tuning the car. The ZR1 was developed on the Ring.

The Viper ACR was not tuned for the Ring like the ZR1 was from the factory. Hence the factory engineers tuning the suspension in just an hour or two mind you and only putting in a few laps to do the 7:22. Two days to set up and run the ACR vs ZR1's infinitely more time on the Ring during its gestation. BTW it wasn't a real factory effort either. Yet you make it sound like the ACR has some advantage with a few hours of tweaking. The ACR left a lot on the table with that 7:22 run. Wish they would re run the 2010 ACR which was optimized for the Ring from what little they learned on the previous outing.

Both great cars but one definitely has the upper hand in terms of being factory ready for the Ring. The fact the ACR beat the ZR1 intial time with such little laps and comparatively sparse fine tuning says a lot about the ACR package as a whole. Would love to see the 2012 ZR1 vs the 2010 ACR heads up battle.

You can RM it, but it is still overrated then, it is a good car for when your below Lv15. After that, you get the hyper-cars with 225+ top speeds.
I believe that if you adjust the transmission, you can reach well over 225 with the RM. And top speed really doesn't matter that much in most races anyway. The Veyron still has one of the highest top speeds in the game, but it's terrible.

Its a very easy car to drive with some throttle control.

And if you think the ZR1 is hard to keep in a straight line try the Mclaren F1 on sports hard tyres......

The Corvette ZR1 is one of the few good American cars.

Maybe you best move along now...... (Shotgun click)

In all seriousness though, I used this car for half of the game (Rm granted) and it is pretty good once you use it a lot. Easily the best RM in the game, at least.

Also, because I'm American, I provide you with this off-topic video about America (Warning: Really Explicit)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3BN1jSpiyIM
