Finally got to Icon 675 today, which means I now have all the Icon Perks fully upgraded and can throw all future Perks into Bucks (pity its 3 levels for 1 perk now though).

Have realised the Stories are fun but don't get you any credits or followers, so I've parked those until I have a more complete car collection.

Still have the "regular" Street races events and the 30 min hypercar event to do. Have been leaving the post release events to do once I finish those.

Also, after 6 months with no voices even in cutscenes, last week I loaded up the game and was asked to set my brightness setting and suddenly I have voices everywhere  Must be a "bug" that sorted itself out.

Just going to mention in here, there's a boosted Alpha GP Nitro Chemist set up for grabs in the TC2 summit this week. It's really not that often that something good like this turns up, last time there was something similar was a Hypercar boosted NC set over 2 months ago.

Unfortunately, this week features one of the two events that I just cannot do with my non-existent flying skill set - the Vegas one in between the tall buildings. Or in my case whacking straight into them

I really struggled with the Jetsprint one, but just had a few more goes and my total is now at 1256k, which is probably enough.

It took me some time to get good at the air race stuff when I first played TC2, and even now it was a bit of a shock just how much faster it is than TCM.

(A couple of days later) I decided to have a go at the summit on a brand new account. The account has the season pass which helps a lot with a starting lineup of vehicles. It was a bit of a grind to get star status to access the summit and there was little option but to just grind street races over and over again to do that. I think it took several hours as I had to stop between each race to put the new parts on. I couldn't afford to spend any money on any other types of vehicle as I needed all my money to eventually buy the summit vehicle bundle. Eventually got star status, but had to grind a bit more to afford the vehicle bundle. It's a tough summit for new players as you need parts for so many different types of vehicle. Big Land is a score killer till you have good hypercar parts, and I'm still not at 320 yet. The Huayra event on a track isn't that bad without good parts. I did okay at the air race without good parts, and the drag race gets you almost full summit points with a stock Corvette. I could do with more boat parts for the escape, and obviously could really use plane parts for the aerobatic skill. I don't want to grind Alpha GP parts as that will be a waste of time if I can get platinum and get the boosted set. And there's jetsprint as well, so many different sets needed..... After 8 hours of playing time I'm 23k short of platinum.

Okay, after 11 hours of play time on the new account, I'm 60k over the current platinum threshold, which is probably safe. Could probably add 20-40k to that with another hour or two of working on parts for plane and dragster.

PS: I doubt I'll get to 9999 anytime soon

Nice, well done! In case you don't know, though, you go up levels massively slower after 1000, so it doesn't take 10x as long to get to 9999, it's virtually impossible to get to 9999 with any sane amount of play.

On my main account, Steam says I have 581 hours, and I'm at 2014. Just collected my 150k follower summit reward and did the 2 summit events to get another 400k followers. Got me to 2027.

On an account I only recently started playing on, I did the same. Started at icon 124, got to 175, so that's 51 levels vs 13, so it's around 1/4 of the rate of gaining levels after 1000. I'm not 100% certain how it works, but I think it might just be a straight switch in rate of gaining levels, i.e. one rate up to 1000, then the lower rate after 1000.

The boosted rally raid set for gold this week is worth getting, as Bayou Break with that set is the best money earner in the game, assuming you don't have the same boosted set for hypercar.

Edit: Correction - Bayou Break is Rally Cross not Rally Raid, so the boosted set isn't super useful. I'm still going to get it on my accounts that have barely played Crew 2, as it still gets a full performance number Rally Raid set for not much effort.

I'm icon 2500 with 640h. Before summits reward getting xp was a pain. Not to mention icon 1000, even getting to 500 was a huge grind. Some YouTuber grind 4000 races to get LaFerrari at icon 500. Now it's much easier but still. By the time you reach icon 5000 you will probably have enough money to buy every vehicle.

This weeks Summit is pretty interesting with all the races using mixed vehicle categories.
Though I managed to get lost in the plane on the first attempt

Also, the slow ass Demo Derby race against Street Racers took a few goes - limping round the 2nd lap with a damaged car drifting left didn't work

Next week's Summit... not so much - 3 MAD skills events!!! :(

Did you get the Score Breaker set for Rally Cross a few weeks ago? That would help for the first two. Anyway if you want platinum just have 600-700k Bucks saved for the bundle, do all the events and you will get the car.

This week Summit is really fun.

Next week's TC2 summit car is available via main stage legacy in Motorfest, so you don't need to do the TC2 summit if the only reason for doing it would be to get that car in Motorfest. There is a small benefit to getting it in TC2 if you haven't yet done the Motorfest main stage legacy, as if you get it in TC2 first, then do the main stage legacy to get it in Motorfest, you'll get credits in Motorfest for already having the car.

I think I've probably got platinum in this week's TC2 Summit using loan cars on the alt accounts, it doesn't look like it will be a very high platinum cutoff score.

I'll certainly be doing the TC2 summits in 2 and 3 weeks, for the boosted rally cross nitro chemist set, and the Z4 Agent Edition car that is still TC2 exclusive in Motorfest.

This week's TC2 summit escape is... interesting. If anyone hasn't checked out a video, there's a reset near the start that you can do to teleport some distance. I generally don't end up in the same spot that Akor does, but I've worked out how to do it from where I most commonly teleport to.

I think I've managed to get platinum this week on all my accounts, but I had to buy the summit car bundle, they're so slow as loan vehicles that I couldn't get platinum with those 3 as loaners.

One tip I've worked out recently when levelling up a new vehicle category - if parts are in the mailbox, they don't increase the performance number of future parts you get, but if parts are in the stock, they do. There is a small window of time after you've finished an event where you can drive into the reward parts, and the button to hold to retry is still available. If you drive over the parts and then immediately retry, the parts will be in the stock, and the next parts you get will be a higher number. This is a massively faster way to level up a vehicle than collecting the parts, going into the menu to put them on the vehicle, then navigating the menu to travel to the event again. For most events it's fairly easy to drive into the parts after finishing, but for some, e.g. Uber Dam, they spawn in specific spots and you really need to get used to where a suitable spot is and make sure you get your boat close to that spot, pointing towards it, or you won't be able to drive into the parts and retry fast enough.

Also, the recent Marble Edition summit car is actually seriously quick, I got top 100 for the hypercar event in the current summit with it:

Now that I've finished working through all the events on Normal (apart from the last 2 acrobatic ones which I hate and the Mad ones that I can't do anyway), my next task when time allows will be to work through them all on the next level up, which should keep me busy for another 6 months

When doing that, I'm going to stack the outstanding Racer Hobbies that require specific cars, as I'm still 100 stars away from that car.

The remaining Explorer Hobbies are mainly "Drive from A to B in less than 5 minutes", so I'm in no hurry to do those.

the Mad ones that I can't do anyway
I bet you can, if you have a different mindset. I've been doing a lot of them to get the Mazda rally cross car that seems to be meta. It's quite a bit of work, but I do believe that most people should be able to obtain it if they work at it.

The first thing is to have the mindset that many of the mad skills need learning like a new track. You can't expect to just do them first time like many of the normal skills.

Secondly, parts matter, and even just a bit of extra skilled from affixes makes a big difference. I've been able to do quite a lot of them without a score breaker set, but recalibrating individual gold parts to get 20-30% skilled total.

I have 23 of the 27 needed to get the Mazda now, I have 4 motorcross ones that I haven't done, so I've been levelling up the motorcross bike in normal events, the aim being to get a bit of skilled, and hopefully complete those 4 skills and that will get me the Mazda. I couldn't quite do the first one when I tried with a completely stock bike, there's a jump I couldn't quite make after 10 attempts, so I resigned myself to having to level it up.

On another subject, does anything else feel the Crew games have more "edge" than Forza Horizon? In the motorcross event I was doing to level up the bike, the voice acted character called Tuck "cluck cluck Tuck", and I don't think there's anything like that in FH, it seems much more focused on avoiding offending anyone ever.

Edit: Okay, my Crew life is now complete, I have the totally OP rally cross car (but only on one of my 4 accounts, it took hours!):

I tried it for the Jackson summit event and took FIVE SECONDS off my previous best, with just one attempt.

The Marble Lucky One is a great ride, way better than the base model.

Hoping I've got enough points for platinum this week as I need the R/C nitro set.

Next week is a cheap entry summit, so it might be harder to get platinum. Its another April Fools mash up but I'm hoping the hovercraft event isn't as bloody awful as the other April Fools one was!

This week isn't all that easy for me to get platinum on the alt accounts. I used loan vehicles for the Corvette and Saleen, I don't have great plane parts for that skill, I can't get the boat reset/teleport to work for the boat escape, and the off-road escape is pretty tough to get a good score on. So I'm only just over 1100k on the alt accounts. Cutoff is around 874k at the moment, very hard to predict if 1100k will be enough. I've been getting the Mazda RX car from the MAD skills, got it on 3 accounts now, as that feels like a good long term time investment, whereas grinding for the credits to buy the cars would just clutter my garage up with useless cars. Using that rather than a lesser car for the two summit RX events gained me about 30k.

He is on XBox where the cutoff is 680k right now. I think 900+ will be enough for Platinum. But yeah having a score breaker on plane is a huge boost.

I was thinking, that might be why Trigger was saying the TC2 summit was competitive, and Sid said it's crazy uncompetitive, I know Trigger is on PC, maybe Sid is on console and it's less competitive.

Yes, Sid is on PS5 and it's definitely easier than PC. XBox is much easier than both. You still need all the cars to be sure.

Nothing OP about the Mazda

Got it on all 4 accounts now. Just to show how much better you get at the MAD skills with a bit of practice, it took me 75 mins on the 4th account to get the Mazda, and I reckon 20 mins of that was spent buying and levelling up a motocross bike, as I didn't have one at all on that account, and it's very hard to complete the motocross MAD skills below about 30 performance level.
