I have the Union Jack tire and is basically the same as Asphalt Stretch tire that is available default. And I got the Whitebands common tire that is identical to Golden Stripes and Roffo Red tire. So that are 3 meta tires that are the same.

Right, that is why I always like to check these things for myself. I also got the Whitebands from the TC2 vanity shop after someone in Akor's discord said they're the same as Roffo Red Line. But they aren't! The front tyre positions the same as Roffo Red Line and Golden Stripes, but the rear is slightly narrower than those two. It may make no practical difference, but visually, the rear wheel doesn't move when you switch between Golden Stripes and Roffo Red Line, but does move inwards when you switch to Whitebands. This is all talking about the tyres in Motorfest, as far as I'm aware in TC2 nothing is better than the standard free smooth stretched asphalt tyre.

I had no idea. I've also checked the front tires and thought that's it. Now I'm not sure about the Union Jack either. Because I didn't check the rear.

I must confess that I did like 30k points the first time. Than I had to re learn the handling of this particular hovercraft. And only after a good hour managed 125k. It's actually the best handling hover in the game, but it's not easy. You definitely need all the points in Drifty and than you need to manage drifting and nitro. It's still the most difficult event this Summit. Actually one of the hardest events ever.

Bloody awful it is then... I may need some time alone after that hovercraft race 😭 😭 😭 . I gave up after a few tries, I hate that Vegas event in its normal guise due to the tiny gaps under the bridges, I've got no chance of getting it done well with a hovercraft.

However, as with the other April Fools summit, a lot of the other events were good fun. The Monster truck in the rally raid event took a few tries to get a clean run (kept driving into checkpoint poles and trees :lol: ) but is fun when you nail it and the Agent Edition car has a great sound and is worth winning for that alone plus its a close run thing against the Alpha GP cars.

I got 124k on my 2nd try, can probably improve some more, but only had time for those 2 attempts. The pro settings can make quite a difference, too, so I might try adjusting them. I already had a nitro chemist set with mainly pure and drifty, so that will have helped.
 
I shall miss the Ferrari summit next week, as I'll be away watching some cars (including 2 Ferraris) go vroom, but shall return in time for the following one.

I did get that Rally Cross nitro set from last week's summit [easy peasy xbox squeezy] so I'm going to run some nitro events on the Hard level when I get some time to do so, over the summer. Need to get some cash coming in as I still seem to have very few hypercars and alphas, rally cross and rally raid vehicles in TC2.
 
I had some more goes at the hovercraft event, but could only match strela's 125k. I think it's actually a pretty decent score, I was 128th at the time on PC with that score. I got that score by going pretty cautiously and avoiding hitting walls. If I try to go faster, I'm faster in most places, but you lose so much time from just a single wall hit that it seems better at my skill level to go slower.

These are my pro settings, the oversteering setting is really crucial, I'm much worse with it even one click either side of this.

Wow, interest in these summits has really plummeted, hasn't it. I just bumbled my way through each event, doing some pretty poor performances, and I'm top 300.

You maybe just noticed on the PC but here on XBox it's a thing for a year or more. You would easily get into top 20 or even top 10 on XB. And while only the top 2100 players get the platinum, there are only 1400 entries on the hovercraft event with a cut off sitting at 450k right now. And it's hilarious that the rarest BMW as a prize didn't do much to attract more players.

Frustrating how low the participation is, but I'd get nowhere in Summits otherwise (I barely get silver in Motorfest).
I'm kinda hoping it takes them a long time to get offline working as I feel like the Summits in TC2 will be switched off as soon as its ready, due to the low player numbers.

It's a lot more active than that on PC. 825k platinum cutoff right now, and nearly 5k people have done the hovercraft event with top 4k the platinum cutoff.

Don't worry. As long as the guys on PC keeps those numbers up we won't have the servers shut down on XBox. And the same goes for the Summit. Even when there will be only 100 players ranked. 😄🤞
I mean they literally kept the servers on TC1 alive for a year when there were only 100 players (daily) on Steam.
 
I'm a sucker for bargains, so even though I already had the Xbox version and had played it plenty, I bought TC2 on sale a few months ago for all the consoles I own.

Then, I started playing TC2 from the beginning on my sub console(PS4) a few days ago, and it was a fresher and more fun experience than I expected. I think I'm going to be hooked on the charm of this game again.

What was particularly surprising was that I no longer had any hatred for the hovercraft, which I had previously hated, and instead found myself playing TC2 just to ride this vehicle.
I never thought that this category would be so much fun if I chose a meta hovercraft, set the appropriate pro settings, and above all, cornered with an understanding of the characteristics of this vehicle!

I'm sure that jet sprints and hovercrafts will be added to TCM like helicopters someday, but until that day comes, I'll continue to make regular trips back and forth between Hawaii and the US mainland for this "new" favorite category!

I was using the hovercraft the other day and admiring how convincing the physics is. The way it squashes down on the cushion of air e.g. if you go from level ground up a ramp so the inertia is pushing the hovercraft into the ramp. The way it bounces off things you hit. Calling the game an arcade game really doesn't do justice to how much effort has gone into the physics.

I saw a video that compared Motorfest and FH5 for some physics scenarios, and I think it was a vehicle driving up some steps where Motorfest looked to clearly be a much more accurate simulation with the individual wheels approximately correctly interacting with each individual step.

I wonder if starting a new game will be possible starting from when the game will be playable offline.

I mean, Google AI says yes but never trust a machine IMO.

I would think it would work if you deleted your local save as it would reset you to the start.

As @WanganDream said, starting from fresh is enjoyable, (i went from PS4 to Series S) although I think the whole endlessgrinding for cars and parts shtick could get irritating more quickly second time around.

I am mainly wondering whether the Summit only cars will become available in the shop ultimately, as I am working on the assumption that Summits won't continue when the game goes offline. The alternative might be making them available via prestige tickets a la TCM, but i think that would probably be too much work for TC2 at EOL. I don't want these to be unobtainable when the game goes offline.

I was happy to get the Peppermint TVR this week.
