The dominant car in GT5

I hope there isn't one, and that it all comes down too just pure skill and proper tuning.

Having different numbers and colors makes them different cars there not identical.
Vettel and Webber don't drive the same red bull F1 car.

We're arguing semantics here, of course, but just to point out a fact about F1, there are many differences between Vettel and Webber's cars aside from the liveries. Not in just terms of setups but many teams put different bits on each drivers car depending on their driving style.

I actually read a review of someone that drove it around London once. Apparently it was really quite an unimpressive motor, very heavy clutch and quite 'mechanical' rather than what you'd expect considering it's visual appearance.

That and it's pure ****. There is a reason the only real claim to fame it has is in the Gran Turismo community. That and it was clouted as a "Electric motored supercar of the future." Technically... no, as we can see they pretty much crapcanned the electric motor and the Tesla stole all it's thunder in the car community.

I understand the idea behind making a "cutting edge" car in conjunction with a cutting edge video game and marketing them both together but the car really fell flat on its face.

Don't know about the ingame price of the Audi R8, but in GT5P it was easy to drive, packed a good punch, handled like a charm :)
Considering it has no turbo or compression on it from the factory, that thing could become really wild with some tuning slapped on it, or ?
Personally I would like to put that motor in a VW Golf Mk4, but that's just me :)

Yes but putting an independent rear suspension on it is a must do to turn it into a truly dominant road racer. So throw at least another 6,000 onto that price tag. Still, not a bad buy at all.

Before i got an STi I had a 2007 Mustang GT with a Roush suspension and a Fays 2 engineering watts link. The thing could handle and corner with the best of them a watts link is really what the car needs to get the handling up to par and keep weight AND costs down.

V8 is nice but somehow to keep in line with the French heritage a nicely done up PRV V6 Twin Turbo engine like one lifted off the old Venturi Atalantique GT1 car should have gone in there.

With GT4 I was looking forward to driving some of the supercars, like the VW and the Zonda, but it turned out they handled like stuck pigs. The surprise for me was the BMW M3 GTR Race version, which when set up properly, was one of the best, if not the best handling car in game. Since driving that in GT, I got a chance to drive an M3 real life, and have become an M3 fan now...

Off topic but I personally thought the A4 DTM was the best handling car and it is good to see it return!(correct me if it was not in the apex book).

I don't know if there will really be a dominant car that can beat all other cars everywhere (based on entry restrictions to the races). Because of how advanced the physics are now, different cars will perform better for some people, based on their driving style. Someone could be fast in the Audi R8 where someone could suck in it because of the way they drive.

Yes in GT5p I make better time with GT-R R35 and ZO6 or 599 GTB on Suzuka than in Ford GT. I have big problem to drive Ford agresive as other car in game :sly:

The Ford GT has terrible brakes for the way I drive, but, it can still be quick. I'm a late braker, and like to trail brake, and it seems like the GT just doesn't do it well. If I adapt my driving to braking early, and get on the gas sooner, I can get better times out of it.

Having tasted the new physics engine in GT5, with a pad mind you, you can forget about most high powered, mid engined rear wheel drive cars being dominant. They take a lot of skill to drive now in GT5.

I expect the R35 GT-R to be pretty dominant all round, it's just so much easier to drive on the limit. Just like in real life.

On the other hand the Ferrari 458 felt pretty stable, despite being an MR car. It wasn't prone to braking and engine braking oversteer like most MR cars, and it had good throttle on grip out of corners

sls my ass , like 570hp ans 1600 kg ... theres better things out there ...

maybe the redbull x1 will be the dominant car ? dunno

Performance wise, of course it will be, everyone knows that. In terms of a dominant car that can be raced in a wide variety of different races, who knows. It depends on the entry restrictions.

In terms of performance I think on the road (in the dry at least) then the X1 will be by far the standout performer. In terms of general public choice, that's hard t say. In GT5:P the choice changed as the online events did, I think some people might have their favorite cars and stick with those more often than not, but I think that the general public will latch onto whichever car/s the best for any class/event and use those.

For me, probably a Viper or the TVR Speed 12. I find them both relatively easy to drive if you respect them and treat them right.

The TVR 12 speed needs more than right treatment :) it needs love in the corners and little hate (or fear of crashing) at the end of a strait piece of track.
man i loved that car in gt2 :o

as of the online most used car ? i dunno some gt1 le mans car ?
my? i dont know , ill be constantly try for new cars (duh) so many there and so little time...
cant w8 to try the zr1 corvette , saw an discovery review of it ore something , it was good :) the pure muscle power combinded whit european like handling (as far as it can be for american muscle car) sould feel nice , as it fails to impress me then ill go for souped up Japanese gt :)

Because of the many different racing classes their will be more than one car per class I think. For the not tuned road going supercars I think the LFA and GTR will be there because of the smooth handling on the limit, and cars like Enzo, Murcielago SV and Zonda will be there because of the brute power.

haha. Ya. But if you can really appreciate the Speed 12 for what it is, it'll be one of the most enjoyable and exhilirating cars to drive. I do wish they had had both the old TVR Speed 12 from GT2 and the newer Speed 12 from GT3 and GT4.

In terms of dominant, I would have to say the skyline gtr r35. It's realy easy to drive and makes no mess at all. 👍
