I don't get why they make a video geared towards the ADD teen with most of the video being screencap of a video game with motion blur and green tints applied, hardly show the wheel, and what they do show is cgi and some spinning text.

The wheel is clearly geared towards the hardcore sim user, yet they show nothing that would interest them. Show me the forcefeedback strength, how fast the wheel spins, show me the wheel setup, pedal adjustments, what features are in the wheel software? Can I adjust the steering degrees and in what steps? does it have deadzone settings?, center spring?, linearity setting? can I store setups in the wheel?

Watching that, I still know nothing about this wheel that would make me drop that kind of cash and there's fat all chance of some shop anywhere near me having it in stock to test at that price.

yep, and the first impression I'm having from this thread is that some people overestimate themselves and their opinion quite a lot :D
Scratch that. It's the first (and lasting) impression I got from a large chunk of the people posting around here.

+1 Dude and an Icecream cone !!
Having said that, I still feel that 'Thrustmaster' sounds like something you would normally find in a Sexshop:)

What I don't like is the brand name like many here. Would never buy a steering wheel that is called thrustmaster, it sounds too old like the 60s or something(the master thing sounds old fashion) and this brand is nowhere near as cool as logitech when making reliable products for the mass. This particular wheel here may be top notch quality, but is it worth the price instead of a LOgitech G25, or more so a Driving Force GT that you can get for $100?

Thrustmaster smelled some money and decided to release wheel. LOL but they did a ****** work. This wheel is no math for G27 which is currently the best wheel on the market. This must being said! No doubt that. Only competitive thing in thrustmaster wheel is it's prize $$ this suppose to be high end wheel? Well it's being made badly, looks like cheap DFP. 👎

Re: Thrustmaster name comments

The company's been around for quite a while, so I'm surprised by the wave of shocked gasps and hoots regarding its name. My first gaming wheel was a desk-mount Thrustmaster with hand pedals (no floor set). My parents got it for my tenth birthday so I could use it to play The Need for Speed.

I also had a TM NASCAR Pro Digital 2 that worked for years; I even dug it out of the basement and used it again after my Driving Force Pro crapped out (worst, most cheaply-made Logitech product I've ever used). The shifter snapped some piece on the inside, but it still worked if you held it right. That's a one-up on my G25's shifter, which went haywire for seemingly no reason and had to be replaced under warranty.

So I wouldn't worry too much about quality with the T500RS. Though the price remains ridiculous -- they should have had Kazuo Hirai announce it.

Marketing geniuses too, not just video editors extraordinaires. I see, I see... :D

So they're the marketing genius video editor extraordinaires, and you're the expert psychologist. Not to mention we're all professional videogame reviewers with insider knowledge of console-game programming and hardware accessory engineering. You could take that shtick in many more directions, you know.

It's the internet. It's a forum. It's banter.

The Animalities in Mortal Kombat Annihilation were better then the graphics in that video...

The real Thrustmaster...

Good thing I'm lazy and have better things to do, I almost feel like keeping a list of all the people who prematurely criticised the new TM wheel to keep track of how many buy it. Apparently Darin Ganji's initial comments on this wheel were something to the effect of it is comparable to ECCI and Frex and makes the G27 look like a toy. $600 for a wheel that is apparently in ECCI territory, something tells me that this is probably going to be the wheel a lot of people lust after and a few people are going to have to choose between doing a backflip on their comments or be stubborn and miss out.

If the TM T500RS is an amazing wheel, I will eat my words and will get the wheel. I have previously said that I will not support this partnership between PD and TM. If the wheel is a very high quality wheel, I will snatch one up when the gated shifter comes.

I have nothing against the wheel...where does it say that in the OP?

The last line says you have an issue with Thrustmasters ability to make a good wheel and the logical progression is that this wheel is bad (because it is made by a "bad wheel company"). However my comment was more of a general response to the general bashing that is going on in regards to the T500RS, I'm pretty amazed by the negativity towards a wheel no one here has tried.

If it makes my G27 look like a toy, then I will gladly buy one. :)
I need something to make me want to get rid of my G27. The brake pedal is annoying the crap outta me.

I think the trailer was ok, I don't remember ever seeing a trailer for g25/27 or fanatec wheels, so they must have been worse. The thrustmaster trailer is actually better than you realise, because you're the ones on a website making threads about it increasing awareness of it.

to be fair it's on GT-TV so it's already widespread...

only "issue" i can see is the price 5/6oo$ is WAYY too much for a controler im a avid GT fan played every version so far but damn realy? 600 bucks is far too pricey for the average consumer and even some race fanatics

now if they threw in a racing style chair too maybe that would be worth it but just for a wheel and some slightly above average durability pedals no thanks
