You're not sure that there are humans that could sustain those types of Gs that it would produce? How many Gs are we talking about? Seems that fighter pilots can hold up to 9 Gs of vertical force using pressure suits and muscle techniques...I doubt a race car driver experiences even .5 Gs. Our friends over at Wikipedia informed me that the human body is more tolerant to horizontal Gs (which a race car driver would encounter)...between 12-17Gs. I highly doubt the X2010 is exceeding 4 or 5 Gs...

Ok, consistently, corner after corner, lap after lap.

Well really, the whole human thing doesn't matter.

People have built things that humans wouldn't be able to use.

"Lap after lap" isn't a factor either. If the X1 was built and did 1 lap, it would be pretty real.

The argument is whether or not the car can be constructed, not whether or not it can be driven by a human.

If you look at the facts, you don't need engineering qualifications to see that the car is not possible today. It's unfortunate some people are so blinded by reputation that they refuse to enter into reasoned debate. Even when it's obvious.

Do you realize how many rules and regulations there are holding F1 back? It certainly isn't technology holding it back.

Point is, it's not unrealistic to think that F1 engineers could build a car capable of being 10-15 seconds faster around a track than an F1 car.

See my post before, Newey's stated it's possible with today's technology. Redefine "today" to: Technology that doesn't exist today but still needs millions of dollars of R&D to actually work.
Go figure.

Of course it would cost millions to develop a real-life X1. F1 teams are spending millions this off-season just to develop adjustable rear wings.

How you twisted that into us not having the technology is beyond me...

And your post is a Tad flagged for AUP Violation.

Oh no, please don't tell on me!!! what will I do now? :'(

That's right, run to the mods when your argument falls apart at the seams.

My argument didn't fall apart, your ability to follow the rules of the forum did, unfortunately.

PM me or get back on topic.

Yes but realism and something being realistic also includes it being able to do what it's intended purpose was i.e race, not just being built and staying unused or in the case of the X2010, do one lap. It's designed as a racing car.

What? What race was it designed for?

Why not have a 1 lap race then?

What if it was a one lap race? What if the car was designed for the purposes of remote robotics? Or as a feat of engineering? And also yes, what race was it designed for?

Once again, these are semantics. The whole basis for this four page debate is whether or not the car can be BUILT with todays technology.

Not driven. Not raced. Not Tires that can hold 8gs. But built with today's technology.

There's no concrete support against, but theres alot of supporting evidence for.

I was on topic, surely Adrian Newey became a part of the topic when you started using him as an example for why everyone else was wrong in your opinion.

And please stop acting as if you're a moderator. We have plenty on this forum perfectly capable of doing their job.

Obviously not, your still off topic, inciting a flame war, being generally noncontributing towards the subject, and already clearly violated the AUP once and ignored me asking you to PM me.

Thread time-out.

I didn't close this thread when it first opened (*groan* not another complaint thread), because it wasn't a duplicate and it seemed harmless.

But the infighting is. No, I don't see any AUP violation on either side (not outright), but the fighting is unhealthy. Thread takes a 24 hour break, and when you're willing to talk like gentlemen, it'll be re-opened.
