Back around November or December 2000 i created my own forums at www.ezboard.com, after registering and posting at the granturismo.com forums which were also my very first forums.
I called them Playstation and Playstation2 forums and they are still in existance:
http://pub43.ezboard.com/bplaystationandplaystation2forums
These forums were populated mainly by people at the GTF such as crb, spanky and awhitney.
But after a while i wanted to change the name of them but couldn't, so i registered a new EzBoard forum with the name of Mustang-man's Forum.
It no longer exists, but i eventually got sick of all the pop-up ads, so went searching for a new board.
I found UltraBoard next (think it was that anyway) and they were a lot better and you could customise way more things. But yet again the pop-up ad's proved to be too annoying, so i went out searching for more.
It was about that time that i found these forums and registered here (when these were IkonBoard forums) and after seeing how good these ones were, i went and got an IkonBoard (v3.0) forum.
Being only in the BETA stage, they were not error free and i had a few problems with them. But then my host (www.f2s.com) stopped their free hosting service so i had to look for another host. Netfirms.com was the answer.
After a while i noticed more and more bugs in the forums, some due to the software, but most of them caused by the host. Many things got deleted or lost and that eventually put me off IkonBoard and Netfirms. (Netfirms aren't even good enough to host my websites now as i regulary exceed my daily bandwidth quota which puts my website offline for 24 hours - http://gtsc.netfirms.com). After a search on Google this year i found phpBB forums and really liked the look of them.
And i found a really awesome host in Lycos.tripod.co.uk. It just seemed way too good to be true. And it was...
First of all i had some error messages (which have never stopped coming) although they were not bad enough to disrupt your forum session. But on about the end of June or July the big one came. Lycos disabled ALL access to it's tripod.co.uk servers to everyone in the Asia-Pacific area due to hackers gaining access to the servers. (or something similar). Which meant i could not see nor gain access to my forums or anywhere else on their servers.
This lasted until about August or September, which is also the same time i left GTP and the GTF.
Finally i could see the forums again and started catching up on all the posts and requests which were given to me.
Fate struck again though and in early November an error took over the forums, which made you refresh the page more than once usually, just to look in a forum or topic etc.
The error read: phpBB : Critical Error
Could not connect to the database
That scared away quite a few people and even after it stopped appearing early this month, those people never came back.
Just like something out of a horror movie, that error has returned, more powerfull than before. No amount of refreshing can open up the forum now.

I have tried everything i can think of, and without a decent paying job and with a $14,000+ student loan to pay off, it doesn't look like i'll be getting my own servers, Vbulletin forums, Photoshop, my own domain name and proper FTP programme any time too soon.
With all this bad luck you would think that something good would have happened by now, but at the moment that looks unlikely.
I have a pretty fair deal of bad luck off the internet as well, so maybe it's just me.
So i am announcing the end of Mustang-man's Forums forever, to those who care (there are caring people out there too), and to those who don't, then i am sorry for your time being spent reading this post.
I had a reputation as having one of the most friendliest forums on the internet too. There was no swearing, no fighting/arguing, welcoming new members was actively encouraged (some members even sent a welcome PM to all new registered members) and overall the general atmosphere made it a really, really nice place to be.
If i ever make new forums again, i will be 'upping' the friendliness factor, but will not be bringing back the 'Mustang-man's Forums' name.
Thank you so much to everyone who has registered and posted in any one of my forums, and thanks especially to crb and spanky who have been with me from the very start. I can't say how much it means to me to have such loyal members such as you two.
My current forums (if they survive that long) will be closed for good on: 31st January 2003.
