Hey guys,
I just discovered a beautifully put-together video in HD (from Digital Foundry), showcasing the graphical evolution of the Gran Turismo Series on all the platforms, it has been so far.
There is of course much nostalgia going on but it is also intersting to see how the various versions of the games compare to each other and how big the difference actually is between the ps1 and the ps3 days.
It's just a nice "look-back" and realization of the evolution of the GT series and I thought it is definatly share-worthy.

I hope you enjoy:

(I think it is better to watch it directly on Youtube, enlarged, in order to really see the difference)

Wow it really shows how far the series(and technology overall) has come.

Brilliant video! :) 👍

On a side note, I've noticed something. Where is the Subaru Impreza? The last two featured cars is the Nissan Skyline and Mitsubishi Evo... where is the Scooby???

Is it me or does the PSP renders look worse than the actual PSP ingame?

I don't think so, I believe it looks worse because the display is bigger now (monitor), bigger than the actual psp display, so you will see more flaws.

Yes, in fact all the games in the vid looks worse than they are.

GT1 was meant to be played in a CRT tv so the jaggies at the time were more subtle, like an old arcade cabinet.

GTPSP use an interpolate technique to give more resolution in the PSP screen, in a youtube vid you see only half of the detail.

GT4 did look a lot less jagged, looks like they recorded the vid with no deinterlace option or with the 480p progressive mode of the US version(that mode has no AA).

GT5 is recorded at 720p not 1080p.

Great find & definately share worthy, things really have moved on in leaps & bounds graphically.

👍

I feel a news item on GT Planets main page coming on!

Really? They look fine/the same to me, but that's just me.
