I already have a vette-Z06(CS) '00, ran it stock, got 9th. Just put soft rubber on, single plate, blue filter, ECU and fully adjustable sus. on, ready for another run. Am I gonna need to shell out for the supercharger?

I'll jump on the bandwagon of winning this with a ZR1 RM. I already had it in my garage and love driving it. So i thought, what the heck, and did it with that.

It's winable with the ZR1 with budget upgrades (under $5K + oil change) and medium sports tires... with a controller...barely by 5.xx seconds. I used the ZR1 RM on my account and it was way overkill, so I bought a new ZR1 on my daughter's account and did 1 upgrade at a time until I found the minimum to win the race. I can see how it would be frustrating (trying to find the minimum requirements) and easy as pie (using a fully loaded ZR1 RM). I already have nearly all of the premium cars on my account, but my daughter's garage is relatively bare, so that is my test zone if you will. :)

Third attempt 4th! Getting there only now i find im bashing the wall on the straight! You all mention oil change, necessary after each race?

I didn't need RM. I used racing mediums on a ZR1 with no mods except carbon hood, lightweight windows, and oil change. Looking back, I still could have won without any upgrades and just race tires and a oil change. Perhaps even less than that. Sport Softs and an oil change could win. You just have to be mistake free, and overtake quickly, don't get caught behind anyone, especially around turns.

i used fully moded (C1) did not work :sly:
then fully moded (C2) also did not work :grumpy:
then i used fully moded (C3) also did not work :ouch:
i got mad then i used the RM beast 👍 done it with flyying colors

I got second place with a tuned '54 corvette. Couldn't be arsed to play fair for first and just went for the ZO6 RM, it got the job done.

I got a corvette Z06 RM, tuned it to around 800hp, and defeated the camaro easily. I've got to warn you though, with 800+hp, the Z06 is extremely fast and at 1050kg, is very agile, so be gentle!

I wanted to save cash and not buy a new car, so put everything on the 69 vette and can only get silver...6 sec behind....I'm determined to win it with this car....to easy just to buy a beast and cruise around and win

Tuning a car from scratch can cost over 200k credits; the stock ZR1 costs less than that, and will defeat the course with ease.

I made a similar mistake with the Golf challenge, as I had a mk1 GTi and didn't want to buy a different car; it cost me more to tune my old Golf up to a point where it stood a chance than it would have to buy something newer and more powerful to begin with.

Haha I did the same but was worth it because now I have a flying brick!!!

I have my corvette 67 convertible fully tuned and messed with the settings and got better acceleration and cornering but that lead Camaro SS is a pain in the a*!
I can barely even get it in my sight.

I ended up resorting to trying to cut through as many corners as I can with ALL assists on.

I smoked all comers. Just modded the car to it's max LOL

This is 100% nit picking but to everyone that called the 2009 corvette a zr-1, you are wrong. It doesn't matter but it's a pet peev of mine and it makes me mad. There is no hypen in the new one. The 1990 vette is the zr-1; the 2009 vette is the zr1. It's like the newbs on yahoo answers that have a questiOn about a Camaro. They spell it "camero".

Yea Camero sounds so lame! Even before I saw one on tv or the net it was always camaro for me!

To clarify my previous post, I had a 69 vette, that I had already tuned quite a bit but not all the way. So, spent the money to go all the way and will win this thing tonight rather than just buying a new vette.

I just used the 90 C(4) ZR-1, and beat this event easily!

please share your tune with me, on this specific car, that you won "easily"

I won 'once', out of 100 full races with this same car, and I can't do it again...

thank you.

Hi,

I did gold with the '69 stingray, fully tuned. Wasn't that hard though I only got first place in the last curve before the last straight. Keep eating seconds away and you'll get to the SS by the last lap.

Not that hard to keep straight and a blast to drive. The only setting I did was to mod the tranny so that I could top it in the straight.

Good luck.

I race modded the corvette like most people and easily beat this challenge by about 6-10 seconds maybe. Anyways one and done.

Am i the only one who used a '96 Grand Sport fully tuned to beat this race?

I have the ZR1 RM and Z06 RM, but i love driving my chrome Grand Sport whenever i get the chance

I was surprised when I read this thread to find the event allows RM'd Vettes, where a lot of other events don't, and annoyingly it also wouldn't let me enter my 63 Vette race car, which would have been a blast.

I slowly worked my way up from the stock 63 Vette then found was going to need a pretty new one or some serious mods to catch the leader, got there eventually though with a ZR1 and a few tweaks.

My top tip is to drive hard from the start, can make all the difference, as the leader seems to stretch out the lead the longer the race goes on. If you make a few mistakes and get stuck behind one or two cars early on you are probably better off restarting.

it is like flying crop duster vs f16. this is an idiot exmaple to help you see it better and dont try compare the hp the cars are ages apart.
