The first game I ever played was some Pong clone on the Spectrum 48k (ZX+) in the mid Eighties, I think what the first system you dropped your own coin on is a different question. That said there probably isn't as much of a difference these days with consoles being more prolific, but for kids growing up in the Eighties, you probably knew someone with a system long before you got one of your own, which was probably not one you bought yourself.You may also want to look at this thread as you may have just duplicated what’s already been done.
Thread title is pretty well self-explanatory. The first game I played was Sonic The Hedgehog for the Sega Genesis. I was 3 when I played it. Meaning I first played videogames in 1998. I wasn't good at them until I was 7 though.
