England's VerdictOnCars.com website has posted an excellent 2-minute video (seemingly official from Lexus) of the upcoming IS350 carving up a mountain road. Also prominently featured in the video is a good view of the interior, including the heretofore unseen inside of the front center armrest compartment and its two accessory connectors (mini-plug and conventional 12-volt).

I think they nailed the shapes (headlights, tails, grill), but the lines really suck. it looks like nothing on the outside of the car fits together. they need a redesign...something to help the shapes flow with each other.
 
Yeah, the first pics I saw of the car, I wasn't really all that impressed. But now, it's kinda grown on me and after seeing this video, I'm really starting to like it.

However, I don't see myself trading in my current IS300 for the next generation. Yet. ;)
 
I think that car is perfect. There isn't one thing I would change on it. You give me one of those in black, with the manual 6-speed, and I'm completely satisfied. Even if you can only get the AWD on the 2.5, and not the 3.5, I'd take the 3.5 manual. Great looking car. The first IS was a stellar machine. This one is a complete knockout. Awesome car.

there are just little subtleties that stick out to me. if they changed the grille and perhaps lowered the tails and contoured the rear facia to them a bit more, it'd be just great.
 
I love the new GS. It has so much class. I find that their design style features too much meat above the car's shoulders though. And that superhuge SUV of theirs? Style? Hellooo? Where are you?

Downloading the new IS vid now. I didn't see what was so amazing about the previous generation, so maybe this will enlighten me.

The previous gen IS was great because it was one of the first cars to REALLY put a fight to the 3-series in the luxury/performance sedan market. The way it combined decent speed, good handling, and great looks with high levels of luxury without breaking the bank was great. The G35 came along and took it a little higher, and even above the 3-series in some peoples eye. Those 2 cars really made BMW step up the game. This new IS looks to be taking the thing to a whole NEW level now.

Far away it looks like an Acura but then once it starts going through the turns and you see the rear end oops Lexus definitely Lexus. Looks nice.
 
I really like the both the new GS and the new IS... beautiful cars.... 👍
