Still no sequential gearbox in that Mustang. It is a race car, no??

Read in there it does have a 6-speed sequential tranny.

I'm a Ford man. Love the Falcon, FPV Falcons, Mustangs (mainly new ones - 1999-to now), Ford GT40 and GT and more.

Although i'd probably only like to own one or two Fords, the 2000 Mustang Cobra R and the FPV F6 Typhoon perhaps (seen three of them in person so far).

I guess you can count me in. I love the current mustangs (and the previous model, thinking about it...), and the fiesta and the ka were the first cars I actually drove :D. My sister and her family have always had Fords (although they have an Astra now...pfft), so I've been in a few pretty often.

Sweet ride, Kikke! 👍

This is a club I could love.

I have reasons for entering-

1. Boss 429

2. Boss 351

3. Boss 302

4. GT500KR

5. 1965 Mustang "Hi-Po" Convertible

6. Mustang "Cobra Jet"

AAAAGH!!!! WHO DID THAT AND HOW CAN I KILL HIM.

That better be a re-skinned new mustang.

Oh please, this is a Ford fan club thread, not Holden

Oh joy, a place where I can put crap on Holden YAY!!!!:):)

Fords all the way! 👍

Hmmm, lets see, Holden have had to use Skyline engines in their Commode-doors, and also have released the Vauxhall/Opel Tigra, Vectra and Astra under the Holden badge. Have Ford done that? Nooooo way.
Holden are owned by GM, Ford owns Aston Martin, Mercury, Jaguar, the list goes on.

And, in the V8 Supercar Championship, Holden has won 4 rounds, and Ford has won 6 :).

There we go. No hard feelings Holden fans, just stating the truth..... :sly:
Duh There is also the Vauxhaul Astra's etc

Apart from Aston Martin Ford owns more pants companies

And who has claimed bathurst for 7 years running??? Not only that but who set the fastest ever lap in a V8supercar??? Driving what??? The only reason you won this year is because you had two good drivers at the healm

I love Fords and have done since I was a kid, i'm more into the Uk Fords such as the cossies, especially the Sierra's and the Escorts. Although I do like the older Fords (Capris, 'scorts, Cortinas).
Sadly all I can afford at the moment is an Escort Gti ( I know its considered a ricer car but its ok) I'd love a Sierra Saph Cossie one day but i'd settle for most older Blue Ovals. I'm not too keen on the newer Fords as I feel that the company have lost heart and are only in for the money, wheres the sense of fun nowadays? Saying that though the Fiesta ST is a good car.

One Question:

Why does Ford have the ugliest grill ever? And what's really stupid, is they obviously know it's ugly as their best selling cars: the F-Series trucks, The Mustang and the GT, don't have it. And the rest would greatly improve their looks if they changed the grill. Seriously, if someone came to me with that design for a grill, I'd fired them on the spot.

The F150 & Mustang, as far as I know, are US products while the rest of Ford's lineup are or will be 'global' products.

It's a brand image thing. It's so people can identify the car on a street. The kidney grills on a BMW are a dead give a way, likewise the snout of an Audi. Look around and you'll see many cars sharing the same/similar front ends throughout their lineup.

It's a branding thing. I'll be the 1st to admit I'm a car bore, but from certain angles I can't tell one car from another. A lot of cars today look similar, so OEMs stick the same nose on their products.

Mustangs, on the other hand, only need a set of ears to know what it is.

You need to stop with the gravedigging...

And the Ford GT is not one of their best selling cars.

Not no more, 'cause it's been discontinued, but it sold better than some of Ford's cars. And I'm not gravedigging, I'm just saying that they're grill is ugly and makes a lot of their line up ugly.

I love Ford (and whole company ) as my favorite US car maker. My father owns a 1999 F150 and it still works today! We use it as work truck but at the same time we do take care of it. Only issue it ever had is that few years ago the door lock failed, so we just had to replace that at the dealer. Other than that it works great.

I now would love to buy and own a brand new Ford. So far I am thinking about Fiesta or new 2012 Focus, but I still have to save up a lot of money and need to pay off school first!.
And my Brothers is thinking about the new 5.0 Mustang and a SVT Raptor once he moves to Arizona.

Also I admire Ford for the new Mustang V6 3.7 300+ HP that has over 32MPG!! no one can match it! Especially in that price range.
I think the stying of ford has changed dramatically. I think almost all of the vehicles are nice looking except the cross overs, I was never a cross over fan in first place.

FORD FTW!

Not sure if I could say I LOVE Ford, but my Mondeo (08 2.2TDCi Titanium X) is a great car, and I've owned several Fords in the past (Escort 1600 sport, 2 x Orion 1.6i Ghia, Sierra 2.0 GLXi).

In a four year old "Ford Fan Club" thread. Find something more recent and on topic about the cars you say are ugly.

And they built 2027 Ford GTs. I'm pretty sure Ford has made more of almost every model. And sold them. Which makes them better-selling.

Love me some fords :) especially since they were smart enough/got lucky and refinanced at the right time not to need govt bailouts. Of I were in a position for a new car, I'd be all over ford. But sadly I'm not, just looking to keep mine going! 1991 f150 with 153k and the biggest problem is a slight bit of rust

Oh, definitely count me in this club. I bleed white and blue. :D

Lesse, I've owned 3 Focus', 1 Thunderbird and 1 Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. I'd say I'm geeked up Ford all the way. I plan on trading my SVT Focus for an '05-09 Mustang GT next year. :D

Meh...

The 4.6L makes a good noise, it just doesn't do anything else...that's what it feels like anyway.

If you have a garage, I'd suggest poking around here & there and look for a clean 94/95 Cobra. It's not as quick as the new 5.0L cars, but they have a bit of charm to them that the newer cars do not have. And with the right bits here & there, they 'feel' a lot quicker than 4.6L cars.

Hell, I don't know how well you are w/a wrench but the new 5.0L crate engine is available well below MSRP and would be killer in a SN95. Or you can go bonkers and have a 351+ Clevor built w/the Aussie 'Yates' style heads.

I had a '94 Cobra, absolutely loved it and kick myself everyday for selling it. Stupid-stupid-stupid decision on my part.

Something to think about if you don't mind having 2 cars.

Even with the old 4.6L with "only" 300bhp a manual GT will clock in at 4.9-5.1s to 60mph and still handle the road brilliantly for the money you spend. The old '94-95 Cobras aren't as fast as the 4.6L stock for stock (5.5s to 60 for the old '94-95).

Have you driven an '05-09 GT with a manual transmission? You should, they are anything but slow. Hate the modular all you want but it is a dynamite engine and can be upgraded just as easily as the old Cobras.

Plus as you said the noise, that's half the reason right there to go with the modular V8.

This:

Sounds better than this:

But all this bantering aside at least they aren't Camaro's of the same generation...yuck. I'd rather own the slower '90 RS with the 305 that I have now than any Camaro made after 1993.

Yeah but still the '11 5.0.

No matter how much you like the 05-09 GT, what are you going to do when a 5.0 rolls up next to you?

4.6s in s197s need longtubes! And Pypes makes a midmuffler kit for a more resonant sound

And, I've driven a 94 5.0 5 speed, then my dads 04 V6 auto, and can honestly say that 5.0 had very little on the 04. It also had 154k and rod knock, so it's probable there was some power loss too though

And an '01 4.6 GT Auto has nothing on a Civic Si.

So you're saying a well worn '94 GT w/a blown engine is just as fast as a V6? Umm....

FWIW; the Cobra version is quite a bit quicker as it has different H/C/I and a shorter (but not short enough) rear end gear. Try to drive one w/o a blown engine though, I'd imagine that makes a difference.
