For those of us who are capable of taming such a beast, feel free to post your experiences with this car. Post your tune- ups specifications too. I race online and find that very few people drive this car, and the ones that do usually win races. The car is very Hard to drive at times, and requires a different approach to get the most out of the Ford GT but I was shocked to find that the GT was actually faster than the McLaren F1 on several tracks including Fuji Speedway, Suzuka Circuit and the High Speed Ring to name a few.

With both cars set to 624 PP, the Ford GT was a few tenths quicker than the McLaren F1 @ Suzuka. Both cars on Racing Softs, I posted up a 1:55.4 with the Ford GT, and a 1:55. 8 with the McLaren. I ran about 6 laps with each car.

On a side note, my Ford beat a F430 Scuderia at Indy. Both cars were set to around 575HP, but the Ford was heavier by more than 100kg. And so it seems this car can handle the long sweeping turns and tight ones just as well. Here's a video of the race and a photo of the photo finish! Enjoy.

The GT is hands down one of the best cars in the game. Its near perfect in every way, but not to the point where its dull to drive.
That and its got one of the top 2-3 sounds in the game.
The fancy Gt test 2 is so good its near unfair.

Driving that without any assists is so hard to do, I always wipeout with that car when I drive it raw.

Yea, I drive it without aids. If you want some tips, add some front + toe and stiffen the rear springs. Tune the LSD above 25 in Accel. and Brake. sensitivity. It will be easier to drive. This is the fastest car in it's class.

You already had 2 threads on this. You don't need 3, so they've all been merged together.

Well, the GT is ofcourse better then a F430.

But better then a 430 Scud (Im not even talking about the 458 italia, which is certainly better then a GT)?
Don`t know, the 430 beat the Ford GT at Top Gear testtrack and (eventhough it doesn`t say much) Nordschleife.

Don`t get me wrong, even as a Tifosi I love the old GT40 and the Ford GT is definetly my favourite american sports car.

Ford GT + Gulf Livery = Win

The problem with the Ford GT is that it was designed to beat the F430, yet they stopped making it and haven't tried to make another "Ferrari Slayer". It's an accomplishment, I'll give it that. But without more examples of "Ferrari Slaying"...

They stopped making it because they probably dont have the resources on hand so often. Ford makes economy boxes, for soccer moms and the daily commuter. Outside of racing, Ford doesn't build super cars, it's not known for doing so. How many econo car companies build supercars? Not many...name some if you know of any. Perhaps Nissan just did only recently with the GT-R, but not sure if it's an exotic super car.

But read up on the thread some more. I stated how It not only beat the Ferrari, but I beat the McLaren F1 on a few tracks.

Ok, back after testing it against the 458 Italia. Both cars set @ 1250kg, and 680HP, the Ford GT completely shattered times at the Indianapolis speedway road course. I ran a 1:26.4 with the Ford GT, and a 1:28.1 with the Italia. Unbelievable performance by a 10 year old car.

Is that the stock settings?

Lexus with the LFA. Mercedes with the SLS and SLR (2 supercars in a group of luxury cars), Alfa with the 8c. There is a few out there.

No, not stock. If both cars were tuned to be even, then I would imagine that the Ford GT would still out perform it's competition with stock settings.

I don't agree that Alfa Romeo has a super car. The 8C is not in the same class as the Ford GT's , the Italia, and the Murcielagos. If you're going to talk about the Mercedes SLS AMG than I could have included Dodge's Viper, Chevrolet's Corvette, or or the Nissan GTR. The Ford GT would eat all those cars alive. The only non super car company that created a super car other than Ford, would be Citroen. They create every day cars for every day people, and also have the great Citroen GT.

I have to admit, the Ford GT is the greatest car in the world, it's cheap, and it will blow anything away. And it's an old car!

Yes, considering the Corvette C6 ZR1, Nissan GTR, Dodge Viper ACR, Mercedes SLS and SLR, Lexus LFA and the 458 italia have beaten the poor GT round the nurburgring. What say you about that? And even if it is the Cheapest, its the most useless*.

* Try parking it in a carpark, and coming back to find cars parked on either side of you. Try and get back in now aye.

Oh, big whoop, its 6 years old. Hate to break it to ya, so is the SLR.

EDIT: Seeing as you seem largly incapable of staging a legitimate, fair test, I decided to instead. Ferrari 458 and Ford GT, Both Stock. No Oil Change, Sports hard tyres (Stock) 5 laps of Deep forest straight outta the dealership.
Here are the Lap times:
Ford GT:
Lap 1) 1:25.053
Lap 2) 1:24.073
Lap 3) 1:24.769
Lap 4) 1:23.644
Lap 5) 1:30.448 (Hit wall)

Vehicle Best lap: Lap 4) 1:23.664

Ferrari 458:
Lap 1) 1:24.023
Lap 2) 1:23.600
Lap 3) 1:23.990
Lap 4) 1:27.055 (Hit wall)
Lap 5) 1:22.921

Vehicle Best lap: Lap 5) 1:22.921

Over All best: Ferrari 458: Lap 5) 1:22.921

Both runs were done with no aids, ABS 1, real track edge grip.

The doors won't open in a parking lot I learned that from Jeremy.

I will definitely try the factory setup and test them. However, you only did it on one track. I think the Ford GT would beat the 458 @ Suzuka, or Fuji, or the Indy Road course. I will try this stock setup test soon and post my results. I think you should test the GT against the F430 Scuderia. Ferrari made that car because the F430 was completely unmatched against the Ford GT. The 458 Italia is brand new technology, so it's not an even match on the tracks that don't allow the GT to use the street shredding torque.

If you want a fair test, don't under-power/weight cars.

You made me want to test these two cars, i'll test them on my favorite track, the nürburgring nordschleife. But just saying, I never saw a GT win on this track online…
