The Formula 1 calendar development threadFormula 1

Dude, you're in there, just buy the tickets, How expensive could a full weekend gp ticket cost for the GP? not more than 2500 pesos, if you're looking for the cheapest

Who knows AJ, tix could cost just about anything

I think we should start considering a meeting, I know it's mooore than a year away, but it would be so awesome if we Mexican GTP members could meet in an even like this :)

Maybe we can all get a discount if the group it's big enough! :D

Lol, it's already closed and the pits building is being dismantled already. It's seriouss this time, it seems! They're going to have to recreate the entire thing because the circuit is a piece of crap right now.

Agreed. For today's F1, a State of the Art facility is required. They'll have to rebuild it almost from scratch...

I'm already looking forward to this! :gtpflag:

Hey I will go too but The price of The tickes can be The problem :S

Pretty much my only concern, too.

My advice: Start filling your cochinitos with some money!

On phone, is the layout basically as it was with champcar, with a slightly altered stadium section?
Can you see this?

It's not bad, but I think I would have preferred if they'd kept the last turn as it was. Two fast sections catapulting down the front straight.

And if the drivers get it wrong, it will be two fast sections catapulting drivers over the upper edger of the final corner and into the middle of a major arterial road on the other side.

Everyone loves the Peraltada, but it's simpky too dangerous.

Ah ok. That could be an issue.... I didn't know what was after that corner. So yeah, let's not catapult drivers into a main road full of cars and lorries.

Just saw an interesting story on the BBC that could spell death for the British, Spanish, Italian and Belgian Grands Prix.

But fear not - the races could survive; they would just be under different names. If Scotland achieves independence later this year, what happens to the British Grand Prix? Does it stay British, or does it become the English Grand Prix? Likewise Spain - if Catalonia becomes independent, then does the Spanish Grand Prix become the Catalonian Grand Prix?

Similarly, though less likely, there are independence movements in Italy's Padania region (a confederation of northern states), which includes Monza; and Belgium's Flemish-speaking region, which would leave Spa in Wallonia.

What are they gonna do with the track when F1 isn't in Mexico?, the very few categories that exist don't have enough popularity to justify the cost of such a venue, without more international and FIA regulated categories coming to Mexico, this thing is going to flop badly, I'm actually surprised that it managed to survive for so long.

There are soccer and baseball fields inside the track, it'd be reasonable to ask for 5-10 pesos to access any of the fields, promove sports, creating tournaments with an inscription fee.

If the government/owner of the track do what they have to do, it'll be a win-win situation for both entities

I think they already charge you if you are organizing a soccer game with amateur teams or Tae Kwon Do tourneys but they're free for the general public. Also, I don't know if the "Foro Sol" and the big concerts contribute as well.

Anyway here's a clip from probably the last ever race with the old layout, it was less than 2 weeks ago.

Edit:

OMG find:

Use it as a test facility for Porsche South Africa, since that is the branch that bought it.
Red Bull did the same thing with the Red Bull Ring. Formula 1 didn't happen straight away, but I see no reason why Porsche cannot develop Kyalami to a higher standard.

The current circuit layout for the Baku World Challenge isn't exactly interesting, or would be anything particularly good for F1.
