What is that one game, that you sometimes play every now and then, that game that gives you the fizzing sensation?

To me, it would be Fallout 3, it's just a masterpiece, and not once have I felt it's a drag to play. Right now I'm playing it over again.

Simple..

COD 4

First ever FPS shooter id played and then I went online with it - Love it, the original and best ;)

From the past, I'd say Ghost Recon, best online experience for me to date.

Current, I picked up Rocksmith and being a self taught guitar player, this game is executed quite well.

Final Fantasy IX. Not the best story in the world, but the story telling was fantastic and the characters brilliant.

I will say Age of Empires II... :D

Just legendary good game! Still is the best strategy game in my opinion 👍
And im still playing it on a regular basis with friends.

Shadows of the Damned for me.

This game has it all.Strategy,Fright Factor,Blood & Guts,Adult Themed,Good Story(very funny at times i might add).It even has 2D levels in the game which made this one of those games that will always rank high on my list.

It's not Gran Turismo... It's the latest F1 2011! I know some might not like this but I am having too much fun with it :D

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was a massive "wow!" game for me, Fallout 3 also.

However, one of the biggest "wow!" games I have ever played is Uncharted 2, simply superb!

Forza 4 and Gran Turismo 4 get honourable mentions also ;)

Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Driver San Francisco.

Slightly unrelated but Team Fortress 2 when it went Free-to-play.

Crackdown 1. First full co-op sandbox game through 3 huge cities. And you can climb every single building in the game.

Saints Row 2. I cant say enough how much I love that game. Looking forward to the 3rd.\

Just Cause 1 and 2. Huge just huge and beautiful games.

Those 3 games wow me the most.

Do games that made me go "Wow!" in the past count, too, or only those that still do? If older ones count too, I'd say World of Warcraft. It had a huge wow factor, to me (no pun intended, by the way).

The vast world was very, very impressive and it was my first MMO experience and left a pretty deep impression. I also made friends with some awesome folks back then, when the game was still fresh and new... And not what it is today.

The Uncharted games alone are enough reason to own a PS3.

Also, Goldeneye on N64 was the first game that really Wowed me. Awesome, I beat that game on every level and got every achievement/cheat in it.

And Saints Row 3 will be my greatest guilty pleasure.

I wouldn't be able to say that there has been only one game that made me go wow, there have been several over the years. Some have not stood the test of time well and others are probably a bit lame, but at the time I was blown away.

I think the first game to really blow me away was Load Runner. I had played a few games prior to it, but LR really opened my eyes to what really can be done with games.

The next one (a bit lame but what the hell) was King's Quest VI. This was my first foray into point & click adventures. I certainly enjoyed the Lucastarts point & clicks more as they are significantly better games but I remember at the time playing KQ6 and thinking wow, these graphics are amazing.

Doom. I don't think I need to elaborate much on this one as it's kind of obvious. The control and first person view.... amazing.

C&C Red Alert. I'd played a bit of the original C&C (still have the original game in box at home!) but Red Alert really captured my imagination. It was fantastic.

Half Life. The subtle narrative and amazing level design. I'm actually replaying the source version right now!

There are a few others, some of newer games are brilliant, the technological advancements that have helped make these games possible are jaw dropping. GTA3, Fallout 3, Oblivion, Batman AA, COD4, BF2 and so many more that have really made me go wow, but I honestly could ramble on for ever.

Hmmm this is a hard one but there have been many games over the years to give me this feeling. Right now? I can't think of one that I 'currently' play that makes me go WOW!

I'm currently playing some really good games (Forza 4, Dead Island, Dues EX, RAGE)
And starting tonight after midnight I will be playing BF3 and TBH I think BF3 will be the WOW! game for me.

Forza 4 is awesome and IMO the best racing game on both consoles but PC gaming is where its at for me and BF3 is going to be amazing.

Then we have Uncharted 3, and Skyrim releasing soon...I'm going nuts drooling over both these titles.

Over the years though a few titles gave me such a huge WOW! that I thought nothing could top them at the time.

Golden Eye on N64
The original Tomb Raider & Resident Evil on PS1
Clive Barker's Undying on PC

These games were mind blowing to me. Huge leaps forward IMO.

Some have been mentioned before:

Just Cause 2 was and still is great fun, Deus Ex: Human Revolution is absolutely amazing, and Forza 4 is just excellent.

Uncharted 2 still has one of the best single player modes on PS3, and I loved CoD:WaW despite there being a fair few people who thought is was terrible. Why? The best thing was at the end of the single player game when you place the Russian flag on the Reich building. 👍

My favorite wow moment was from Mario teaches typing..... I kid I kid....

I have to agree that Super Mario Bros. is epic and should be considered a classic. It's one of the first games to give us continuous side scrolling platforming, not just static frame to frame movement. I'm a bit of a sucker for playing old classics and have this on my Wii (yeah I've just gone and admitted I have one :guilty:) and will occasionally play it.

However I do feel like Nintendo have over done the Mario thing. Same goes for Zelda.

The original Crysis. Even to this day, there isn't much games that look better than the first Crysis (IMHO Crysis 2 looks worse than Crysis 1).

What the hell?!? Open it up and play it yet mate!

:mischievous:

Sorry dude... It won't happen anytime soon.

Got Forza 4 to play on for a few more days, then I get to play Battlefield 3 on PC...
A game which certainly will make me go "WOW" quite many times :D

Yep... Beta made me go wow. And so has the trailer. Especially the base jump to the attack point.
