The Games-To-Films Thread

As there are so many different games that are/will be films, i thought i'd start a thread were thats all was spoken about. I will start with my own Mini-reviews of current game-films. In order of favs:

Resident Evil - I love this film, Milla is lovely, Michelle kicks ass & thats about it, but theres something about it i love! (it might be Milla's legs?)

Resident Evil: Apoc - Ok, by no means is this a good film, in fact its utter tosh, but again for the same reason i liked number one (i dont really kow), i really like this.

Doom - Pretty cack for about 45mins, then it launches into some great action & acting (lol, joke!). The FPS bit is great.

Mortal Kombat 2 - I know i know, this films is horendus. But it has quite a few really good fights in it.

Tomb Raider - This has got worse everytime i watch it, i dont like Angelina, so that dosent help. Good opening gun-fight though.

Mortal Kombat & Street Fighter - I loved both of these as a child, now.... I dont!! Kylie's nice though ent she.

House of the Dead - Bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad, but because its so bad, i actually found it laughably entertaining.

Alone in the dark - The worst film i have ever seen??? possibly, i cant remember it that well, but aparently i gave it "3" when i 1st saw it.

I havent included Mario in there because i cant remember it at all. Also should AVP be in there?? it was a game.

Metal Gear Solid, often regarded the best game ever. Please dont make this into a film, make it into a 24 style TV series. It would work great, you cant condense what happens in MGS in to a few hours. Also get either Kurt Russel or Keifer Sutherland to play Snake, the voices are perfect.

Tekken movie?? I've read in a few places that Jackie Chan is playing Lei Wulong, but i've also read that Jet Li is going to be in it.......??

Is anyone else going to admit to actually liking games-movies??? They dont have to be good for you to like them

Do you reckon anyone actually actually liked Alone in the Dark???
Apart from Ewwwwww Boll of course.

I'd give AvP 6/10 for the film, but 8/10 for the action. Its like Freddy Vs Jason, I just find it so damn entertaining watching them 2 fighting!! it kicks serious bottom.

I wouldn't classify AVP as a true game-to-film conversion. It was a comic book before it was ever a game, and that helps the story. There was more to work with for producers of the AVP movie than for the producers of, say, the Alone In The Dark debacle.
