The game is simple. I will start off by asking a general knowledge type question. Whomever answers it correctly, asks another and so on and so forth. No automotive questions are permitted.

Question: What is the worst [peace-time or war-time] maritime disaster, in terms of human life lost? Give name of ship and death toll.

I believe it was the Halifax Explosion of 1917. It was the largest explosion ever before the Atomic bomb was invented.

1951 identified victims, hundres couldnt be identified.
Ships involves are named Mont-Blanc & IMO

Um, did I get it? Thats my guess.

Yes i have read about that. A ship carrying explosives collided with another and Kablam.

Unhappily, that is not the correct answer. :)

It's not the Titanic, only (!) 1513 lives were loss.

HMS Lancastria? More than 3000 perished (couldn't find the exact number, mind you)

Wilhelm Gustav is the correct answer - over 7000 German Troops perished when it was torpedoed.

Your turn.

EDIT: Aint heard of the Lancastria. When was that sunk PunkRock?

Continuing with the maritime theme, name the Titanic's two sister ships and say in which manner each of them ended their days. :D

crap.

On October 11, 1935, the Olympic left Southampton for Inverkeithing in Scotland for demolition by Thomas Ward Company.

The Britannic was sunk off the Greek island of Kea in the Aegean Sea on Tuesday, November 21, 1916 with the loss of 22 lives.

Lake Baikal - Russia? Its 5022 feet deep in its deepest spot, so ol' Jimmy James could have company from Waldo.
