I think the reason for this is that your DLC cars are linked to your PS3 .. not your account. So you can simply make a new PSN name on your current PS3 and it'll give that new account your DLC car.

So that's very easy to abuse - just make a new PSN name and give it to a friend. Delete the new PSN's saved data then boot GT5 again and it'll give you the DLC car once again .. you gift it to another friend .. rinse and repeat.
