Thanks, Mr.P

I'm surprized, that Wedssport is an FF chassis? It must handle pretty good regardless. I haven't tried that one yet, but I certainly would not expect to get that sort of time out of it anyway.

News from the "King of Genova's" royal garage:

It's apparent the King remains unwilling to surrender his crown without a fight. He is at this very moment preparing a counter attack.....mechanics and advisors are busily selecting and preparing cars.

The King is calm, jovial and supremely focused on the royal mission ahead.

This is apparent because he has ordered all animal shelters to free their four-legged prisoners, all public whippings are postponed until after dinner hour, citizens are able to watch his race replays on big screen TV's all day at the park, free of the normal charge. He's obviously a ruler who plans to keep his crown.:sly:

First thoughts were: No Way..but after some laps and times falling down very rapidly and some tunning,Yes.

The Xanavi is a dream of handeling, with only 517 bhp,it is a truly amazing car.

1'15.120

The 1'14 is getting closer, even for me:)

Great time stidriver.👍

Great times guys 👍 I'll have to try again tonight I suppose ;)

Thanks, sjaak68 and you to Gt3Emperor (just look at you older post)

I know that more time can be dropped using the Xanavi. I to like the way this car drivers.

I haven't got one of those yet.....but if I can't get this car I'm in now to break the barrier...I'll sure be buying one.👍

I'm .055 seconds off right now.

Breaking News:

Ok, I found it...new time in my previous post.

So, the King of Genova lives to reign another Day! ...."Unless somebody wants to do something about it!" "What!....What!"...."I didn't think so".:grumpy: :sly:

T1 15.294
T2 34.205
T3 1'00.419
Final 1'18.970

I'm sure this can be driven faster with a bit more practice.

P.S Sti...your one insane crazy driver:) ...In a good way of course!

i just got 1.19'626 in a bmw m3 gtr race car. i dont know how to put a screen up of it, if someone couod tell me i would appreciate it.
i will post again when i better this time.

just got 1'17.190 with the mazda rx7 LM race car. what is the best time so far? is the leader boeard current?

hi - sorry I just had the time to update the board !

Incredible times sti and Gt3Emp   please be careful not to take the whole city back in the middle ages while traveling back through time :sly:
this is spactacular fighting aournd the 1.15 the 1.14 mark :)

welcome D0wNForc3 - great lap with the RX7 :) this car is a lillte my favourite but I think I'll have an hard time trying to catch you!

....a tarnished 'crown' rest on the ground beside the damaged town fountain....it seems the former 'King of Genova' has abdicated the throne and left town quietly during the night.

A note left near the crown says, "Stidriver can have the crown....just promise not to hurt us"!:nervous: A slight breeze, blows through the trees of the park where the former King made his last stand....old McDonald's food wrappers, beer cans, and stripped out old race cars litter the landscape. All is quiet.

Nisan Xanavi Nismo '03 - 1'15.120 :)

And to many laps in the Motul : 1'14.835
Yeah,I made it in the 1'14 ,beer is on me!

Also the handeling of this car is excelent, full throttle to the last bend of the first tunnel, only a lift there.
Also the last part to the finish, full throttle :scared:

This is my set up:

Nissan Motul Pitwork Z :509 bhp

brake:3-4
suspension:
14.9-13.7
72-72
6-6
6-6
2.5-2.0
0-0
5-5
Gear:
auto settings -1
final -4395
1-2889
2-2069
3-1567
4-1239
5-1023
6-0853
LSD-default
downforce-50-70
aids-0/0/0

I could find probably another 3 tenths with this set up but to go in the 1'13 ..........hmmmm,not me.👍

For now I leave this arena, walking through the leftovers of a great race combat, shouting to Emp "let's go to the pub"

Cheers.

Ran some laps in the Nissan Motul Pitwork Z and cant seem to break into the 1'13's with it after a good 90 mins :ouch: I have 3 saves all high 1'14.0's  anyway this is my best so far ..

Nissan Motul Pitwork Z :509 bhp ( showing at 478hp on the replay screen ) ..14.137 / 31.984 / 56.747 = 1'14.072

I dont think I'm any good at set ups combo's tbh so this will be my final time also 👍 .. back to arcade cars for me ;)
Sweet laps from STIdriver who is absolutely blazing here in whatever car he drives 👍

replays saved for whoever wants them
Laters
Ron.

Thanks All! This challenge has bin fun.

Mr P for me it's arcade cars. I just miss on them, but I keep tring.

I also have the replays save.

:) Great battle guys.....I enjoyed it. I never thought this would lead all the way down to the 1:13's.....I guess those drivers in Genova won't be inviting us out to play anymore.:guilty:

Good contest gz.....👍 We're sorry if we've torn up your town.

I'm going to make a few more passes before I quit.....I think I can pull a few tenths out of the hat. I've got to keep the other mortal, sjaak68 busy.....I think the aliens are done here.:sly: :)

Hail racers form around the world !

It seems the battle is ending as the 1'13 mark starts to outline the physical limits of this circuit with the chosen car limits  ...

Right now, Il Re Delle Fate and me are sitting on the highest tower of the "Forte Sperone" fortress. We know Genova has grown as small land slide choked between sea and mountains, and people here are used to shelter in the heights when visitors become turbulent.

As our sight embraces the whole city from above, we can now acknowledge our illustrious guests have settled their arguments on the field of battle :)

We've been proud to invite them, they've been generous in showing us how limits can be pushed back, and times cut down : thx to all of you 👍

stidriver, sjaak68, Gt3Emp, Mr.P , these under the 1'15 mark are enlightning laps :dopey:
Please come back whenever you want and let the locals offer you a beer !

My idea was to ask for a couple of car setups used to reach the 1'15, and I see sjaak68 has alreay offered us his setting for the Nissan Motul Pitwork Z 👍
If anyone else agrees on posting his setup for a Xanavi Nismo GT-R, the Woodone Supra or the Celica Wedsports, I'd like to put it in the first post as a nice conclusion to this challenge.

I'll also add some "old" laps with fancy cars in the next days ( nothing faster than 1'18 ) and any new time submitted of course !

Once again, congrats on the laps and thx to all the partecipants 👍 :)

PS : don't worry, there will be more Genova Challenges, and you guys will definitly be invited :sly: :)

PPS : thx to all who kept replays - I trust and won't ask for them - imho if someone wants to publish a 1'14 or 1'15 on youtube, I'd say it would be an incredible conclusion for the challenge and something really helpful for italian snails like me :)

Thanks All! This challenge has bin fun.

Mr P for me it's arcade cars. I just miss on them, but I keep tring.

I also have the replays save.

Congrats on the mind blowing 1'13 lap !!! :dopey:

Hope you don't mind that I added a tag on your submissions as - if I understand correctly - you run in Arcade Mode and not in GT Mode as asked in the first post
It's the same principle as the Wedsports Celica at 592hp which had slightly too much power .

( As sometimes my English gets sloppy, please warn me if I misunderstood anything - I'll remove wrong tags immediatly )

--------------- UPDATE --------------

:ouch:
Ok now I understand :dunce: :guilty:
Thx GT3Emp for helping me out :) ( read post below )

it's effectivly strange-sounding to me for Stidriver be faster in Arcade than in GT-Mode :ouch: -> Tags removed as fast as possible ...

Sorry all for the confusion
Stidriver, please accept my apologies for the misunderstanding and again my sincere congrats for the 1'13 lap !

Sorry if I'm out of place gz....but what I believe Stidriver is saying is that he is running in Gt Mode for this challenge, and is better at 'setting up' cars than he is at running Arcade cars.

Mr. P is also running Gt Mode for this challenge, but is saying he prefers 'Arcade cars' and is not that good with the setting up process.

Stidriver is obviously excellent with set-up and I've witnesses this before in other challenges with him.

If I'm wrong in this interpetation, please forgive me for speaking out of turn.👍
****************************************************

I'll post my set-ups later today....
I'm still not done here, I still must make one more flying, Hail Mary dash for my honor, even if I can't catch anybody at the top.:)

I did all of the time in GT mode. I was just saying that I have some trouble in arcade mode. I found the physics in arcade mode odd to me and different to GT mode. I will figure arcade mode out someday.
I'm looking for the Pitworks Z, but below are the setting used for the Wedssport Celica. The car still needs some tuning to get the last chicane down. You still be able to ge a little more out time out with them.

sorry stidriver :dunce: :guilty: I removed the tags as soon as possible ... and I agree the Arcade physics are definitly odd when you are used to GT - mode

thx for giving your setup 👍
I'll post the information so that it can be useful for all the young racers from Genova :)
they will know of this challenge and remember racers who ran it !!!

Using the old style Driving Force wheel

Are set-ups are similar Sjaak68--Is that why we're stymied in the 1:14.8 range?

Well, this sounded good when I used it, but I'm always willing to go radically different in the pursuit of speed.....so I'm about to go radical now. 👍

New Time

Nissan Motul Pitwork Z RM Tires/509hp @1080kg
14.204
32.303
57.011
1:14.260

More on the way, still at it...👍

Well, maybe not.

got a 1'15.847 with the nissan motul pitwork z today. made a few mistakes and its a bit uncontrolable. i think with a bit better tuning and better lap i could get close to that 1'13. is evryone using the dfp?

I use the older style 'Driving Force' wheel....Stidriver uses the hand controller and I think Mr. P uses that also. I think Sjaak68 is DFP.

I hope you can get into the 1:13's but, be aware...the air is real thin there and it gets really hard to breathe, not to mention the awful headaches and nose bleeds. And at those speeds, when you come out of that tunnel.....the suction can suck the doors right off your car! Be careful out there. :sly: :)

after about half an hour more of lapping im thinking that 1.13 is looking very far away. i will endevour to beat it though.
hell, i even tuned the spyker thinking maybe the less weight would help. it was a disasterouse excercise.
once this is done cant wait for someone to put up a new challenge, i have a hankering to try beat some lap times. and take part from when the leader board started. instead of coming in with some insane laps to try beat.
anywho, happy racing

how do these people get such quick times with the controller, i always thought the dfp or any wheel for that matter would be quikcer.
stidriver and mr p truly have some super senses.

got a 1'15.732 with the z today. damn u lot are quick.
does everyone go flat from the last turn through the last chicane to the first tunnel?? i find that if i do this the car isnt able to be in the right position for the left hander just before the tunnel, but if i dont, i seem to be going to slowly. where do u all find your speed???

great times Gt3Emperor and D0wNForc3 !!

I struggled down to 16'5 with the xanavi nismo Z and sjaak68 setup ... even though I improved my best lap by a whole second, even 1.14.000 never seemed so far ! :ouch:

After that I tried a couple of times with the Chaparral 2D '67 and the Nissan R390 Road Car, just to get a different feel on the track and couple of different names in the board :)
As a result, the first one was a charming little white lightning, achieving 1'19 even if it's underpowered @447hp and proudly sports three gears and 40 years :dopey:

The R390 was really dissapointing ( it was my favourite car in GT2 :( ) and needs a lot of tuning ... this may take some time

stidriver and mr p truly have some super senses
I agree, I'm also using a DS2 and their laptimes do seems untouchable

btw, Gt3Emp - thx for you setup :) I just had a little trouble understanding if it's the Xanavi Skyline or the Pitwork Z :dunce:
