It does look good, but it looks very rough for a next-gen game. Where's the AA on the shadows, flag wind effects look canned, and just a look of being artificial. I think because it's a relatively unknown (and possibly small) team that makes it impressive, but still..... I'm a bit ambivalent.

Yeah, heard about this game a while back, think the beta has been going for nearly a year.

Not really got into golf games since the early to mid 90s and not really seeing anything on this one

I saw a video look at this a few months back. It's really cool that you can build courses with a crazy amount of customisation. Apart from the terraforming you can place a huge array of virtual items everywhere... even birds!

Best looking golf game to date for sure but I'm not too interested in golf... pity its not Sim Safari

For some reason golf hasn't grabbed me like it did with World Class Leaderboard on C64 and PGA on Megadrive.

Can't see why golf isn't a perfect match for Oculus Rift. Oculus plus a Move type peripheral really would be "the best way to ruin a good walk".

It's pretty good. I really prefer golf games on PC over consoles so I've enjoyed what I've played of this. Controllers just make golf games way to easy. Playing with a mouse on PC and trying to shape shots makes it much more believable to me. Hopefully this gets support for the rift. It might make trying to read a green allot more like real life.

I haven't tried it for awhile but I started making one of my home courses when the editor was really basic. I actually got into the course design more than playing it. I might have to boot this up tonight and see how far the editor has came.

I think the course editor is what could really help this game. Playing some of the less well known public courses would be great. I would love to be able to play longaberger on stonelick hills from Ohio on it.

For me golf games lost their way when they started introducing analogue controls. True it's more "realistic" but also a little vague and imprecise as a control method. I preferred the old days of a power and snap meter - Leaderboard does spring to mind as well as the excellent Everybody's Golf series. Hoping for the option of "traditional" controls for this one.

Well it is not technically "next gen". More of an indie game that is now arcade game IMO. It wont even be full price. Estimated around $20.00-$30.00.

Almost every game I have played has that option available in the "options" menu. Even the Tiger Woods games have that. ;)

I love golf and games based on it. So I was happy when this was announced for PS4.

I've been following it for some time. I was hoping for Clap Handz to make another Everybody's Golf but this will fit the bill until that happens.

Has anyone been playing this game yet?

Played a round last night with my dad and a friend. It plays better than it looks and is geared more towards the sim gamer.

I've published my first course this morning.

Lupset Golf Course

It's based on a local course. It's not exact but the yardage per hole and basic layout is the same.

This is certainly an excellent golf game, best played with friends I feel but great fun nonetheless. Takes some getting used to but it is really satisfying.

Have you made any courses yet?

I have yes. I don't recall what I called it but my steam name is mildashers09 if that helps.

@MildAshers

Cool I'll have a look and see if I can find it. I've now got another up called Horbury Country Club.

It's a circular course and a par 70! It crosses over water a few times and plays around a lake and river.

Sorry for a thread from the dead but is anyone still playing this excellent game?

After some recent updates there is some real fun to be had.

Search for a new competition online called

"Green Leaf C.C. Open" I created it so it runs for the next week and consists of 3 rounds of my newly published course of the same name.

I play daily and compete in TGC Tours, not really any good, in the CC-C tour. I will try to play your tour in the next day or so. Today is tournament day for me, play my 4 rounds for TGC Tours. From what I hear its going to be a grind, high winds on the 1'st 3 rounds, then 7 mph for the last

Got this game on sale recently for about $10... of course I then had to spring for the "Collector's Edition" upgrade which added another $10 to the price.

It's pretty good, though I'm beginning to wish I'd bought it on PC instead of PS4... the screen tearing and stutters are rather annoying. It's quite a bit harder than Tiger Woods... you have to be extra careful when swinging, you can't just flip that stick around all willy-nilly, which makes a well-played round of golf just that much more satisfying. I'm happy when I can finish 18 holes under par, whereas that's usually no sweat in the PGA Tour games.
