Well, I'll have some free time on my hands over the summer, so here's what I'm planning to do. I've got a Windows ME desktop and a Fedora Core 2 Laptop. What I'm thinking of doing is converting the Windows machine into a dual-boot Windows/Smoothwall firewall Machine (Linkage...). I'm planning to network it to my FC2 laptop using a Linksys BEFW11S4 Wireless router. I've got the router, a couple ethernet cards, and a lot of cables.
Is this a good idea? Does it even make sense? Could I also create an SMB fileshare between the two machines? Can I use GRUB to dual boot it, and what partitions will I have to make? Have I gone completely insane?

Any comments etc. are welcome...

Well in theory it would be a better firewall then just a program on your computer. But I'm not one to know much about computers so I could be wrong.

It's better than a lot of firewalls, software or hardware.

But, I have to ask, why? That's really, really overkill.. Why don't you just use the hardware firewall in your router?

Eh. I don't even know if I'm going to use the router. Getting wireless set up on FC2 is a real *****. Besides, I like to be paranoid.
