This Fortnight's Theme :

MASTER OF MODE 1

Last winner @at1503 set this theme, here are the details :

« Mode 1 can garner some interesting and striking results, however I (as well as others, I'm sure) find it can be quite challenging to use effectively.

So this week, it's time to showcase your skills in how you master mode 1! »

CARS :
- Any.

LIVERIES :
- No restrictions.

LOCATIONS:
- No restrictions.

SCAPES:
- Not allowed.

UNIQUE RESTRICTIONS :
- On the picture settings, Mode 1 must be used - not modes 2 or 3.


Competition Rules

  • The only way you can take part is to be a member of the GTPlanet forums. If you haven't created your account yet click here.
  • It is recommended you host your image either here on GTPlanet (via the Media section), or on Flickr.
  • Not sure how to submit your image? Here's a guide for both methods mentioned above.
  • Preview images can not exceed 640 pixels in either direction.
  • A preview image must be representative of the full-size image. Do not add effects to it.
  • Please use a clickable-preview to full-size, not a separate text link for it;
    it makes poll creation much easier!
  • Mark your FINAL ENTRY clearly, with red text.

  • No post-game editing, besides proportional resizing and rotating, is allowed.
  • One entry per user. It must be your own work, and never previously used in a comp.

  • You may change your entry once. Do it clearly; edit out your previous entry, and
    either post the new one in a new reply, or in place of the original.
  • Do not post "Honourable Mentions" or outtakes - just your Final Entry, that's all.
  • Winner gets to choose the following week's theme.
  • Winners cannot enter in their own theme!
  • The Host may ask for the original image and it must be submitted if so.
    It's recommended to save the original image (preferably in-game) until week's ends.

I'm looking forward to see what everyone has to offer here.
I personally never made any interesting shot with that mode.
I don't understand how it works within the GTS "environment"

Why so few entries for this one? Do people just not get what Mode 1 is?

In order to get the Renown colors I recreated the entire livery of the car from scratch.

I forgot the different modes existed until Krisduv pointed out what it was above.

Mode 1 is a bit finicky when you're trying to get a shot as well, seems like the tiny square that you use for autofocus is the only spot that won't get motion blurred which doesn't fit with a lot of people's style currently, that is, having the whole car crystal clear and the background gets motion blurred.

I like the theme though. Forcing us to use a setting which may not get used all that frequently creates a nice challenge. Hopefully we get some more entries closer to the deadline though. I encourage anyone who hasn't entered yet to give it a go :gtpflag:
 
Yes, it's the effect due to the camera in Mode 1 being too close to the subject.
