The GT5 goodbye thread. RIP old friend

My Sig says pretty much what I'll be doing for the next week. Aiming for at least 50% done, 75% at most. :)

haha, unfortunately there is not enough space on my ps3 for both, I will have to delete gt5 installation. Also, I hope that gt6 will be good enough to make me forget about gt5 :p

They will definitely add some more F1 cars anyway so it'll be fine
 
Day 1 I got my GT5 with my 320gb PS3. After two game discs, losing my data twice in recent six months, I still maintain it's best damn game I have ever driven. It has flaws. Dodgy AI, uneven quality cars, poor A Spec, but it critically nails what it set out to do - the driving.

I've always been a racer. First and foremost. I've cut my teeth in racin series thick and thin. From 300hp FWD saloons, 600hp V8's, FGT's, back to Mini Coopers and my trusty 30,000 mile+ Ford Mk IV, a beautiful peace of kit. The driving has been immense. Last two weeks I have taken my first wins in classic sportscar racing for around 50 races and two and a half years, just loving the driving.

Tomorrow night (sunday) I drive Spa, a fine epilogue for GT5. The best DLC of a lot, a fantastic recreation of a fantastic track, and I will be driving like crazy, rain or shine. Three years on GT5 has bought me around 400 events, and what must be around 125 podiums, and 33 race wins. GT6 for me will be a step up. Bathurst, Brands Hatch, the new physics, everything looks set in place.

Tomorrow night I eject the GT5 disc one last time, and i'll shove it to the back of my gaming shelf.

Goodbye old friend, thanks for some epic memories.

Well in GT6 we will get the X2014, which will be even crazier.

Btw, where was it confirmed that we will not have the Ferrari F1 cars anymore? I haven't read anything about that.

Hi mate,

Cannot remember where I read about Ferrari F1 cars not being included, or if other F1 cars are included in GT6. They are not on the official car list though => http://www.gran-turismo.com/local/jp/data1/products/gt6/carlist_en.html

....hope the list is outdated.

I've been avoiding reading or watching videos about anything GT6, so I'm probably wrong...one more week to go! Hope the F2007 makes it to GT6....if not, all sweet...GT5 will always have a special place then.

Goodbye GT5, even with the disappointment of your delay, I still holded you in my arms since release date, played you on with my DS3 before purchasing a steering wheel just for you. It was my pleasure.
 
Goodbye old friend.. Thanks for all those hours of joy.. GT5 (prologue) was the only reason I bought my PS3 and G25.. My fat 80GB is still rocking and ready for GT6.. :)
