Now that we have seen PD „listen to feedback“ and update the Elantra N exhaust sound with the Spec III update (stock pops and bangs added), I thought it might be a good idea to start a compilation of all sound inaccuracies/proposals for improvement that I have noticed and read about here.
Who knows: Maybe PD is reading along?;). They might read this for future updates or the next GT…

Some of these were already noted in previous threads but i wanted to compile all and give this some structure.

Guideline (it would help if these were followed)
  • For roadcars I only compared stock exhaust in game vs real
  • If you believe a car „does not sound right“, „not like the real thing“ or just „bad“ please provide some „evidence“ (videoclips etc.) and make sure to compare apples with apples (e.g. stock vs stock).

Alfa Romeo
155 2.5 V6 TI 1993: Many people complain about this not being authentic, however I could not find a high quality clip or onboard footage showing the exact same variant with the quad exhaust. Can someone provide a link?

1994 Version (from 2:14)
1993 DTM (from 19:10)

4C 2014/MiTo 2009: These are using the exact same sound (4C revs higher). Yes, they are both Alfa 4-Cylinders however the 4C sounds a little raspier and has some exhaust crackles in some clips (but not all). Adding that dual clutch upshift sound to the 4C would help.
4C stock exhaust (cold start)
4C Upshift
4C Sound

Mercedes/AMG
A45 2013: Simple fix (like the Elantra) Add the loud stock pops and bangs. It would make driving this more authentic and enjoyable. If possible also add the DCT upshift bangs.
A45 pops and bangs

AMG GT S 2015: Pops and bangs are barely audible. They sound like little firecrackers in game (another „firecracker“ is the Supra and many others, it seems to be a GT Sport era thing…)
AMG GT S

C63 S Coupe 2015: This sounds like the SLS AMG with the 6.2l NA engine when it should sound more like the 4.0l Biturbo which it shares with the AMG GT. No pops and bangs unfortunately in game (as far as i know these can be turned off with the AMG Perfromance Exhaust). The loud upshifts are missing.

SLR McLaren 2009: Never heard an SLR pop and bang (this is more a 2010s thing) and havent found a video where it does. I believe this is wrong. Also im pretty sure it does not rev match irl when downshifting, it uses a torque converter that did not have such feature. If it was modeled correctly the downshift times would be much slower than in GT7. Supercharger whine is much louder irl.

Audi
R8 4.2 FSI V8 Quattro 2007: Should not pop and bang as it does in game.
R8 sound

Audi Sport quattro S1 Pikes Peak 1987:
I am missing the loud turbo blow off in outside view/replay. And listen to those exhaust explosions…what a brute.
Loud Quattro

Ford
Mustang GT 2015/Shelby GT 350R 2016:
Same exhaust note although they have different engines.

Hyundai
N2025 Vision GT Gr.1: I know this one is fictional but it just does not sound like a combustion engine :)

Nismo
R34 Z-Tune 2005: It is missing the loud turbo blowoff „whoosh“ you can hear in onboard footage.

Pagani
Huayra 2013: Just listen to the turbo noise. We need more of this in GT7. It does not sound that spectacular in game.

Porsche
Carrera GT 2003: Not the stock exhaust PD recorded. This one sounds stock: Link
And another one: Carrera GT Sound

Volkswagen
Golf VII GTI 2014: DSG „farts“ missing.

Lexus
SC430 Super GT 2008: As pointed out by @Michelin Man: „In-game it just uses a copy of the RC-F GT3's cross plane V8.
Whereas in reality the it had a far better sounding high revving flat-plane V8.“

Mazda
RX-8 Spirit R 2012: RPM warning sound is missing

General:
Most cars have an increased redline when upgraded, but many of their sounds don't change in pitch. Video by @lbpomg95
