FINAL ENTRY

Finally got round to finishing this design, attempted to created an IMSA based factory entry for DACIA.

Couldn't really see any history of racing in their past so went with black and gold mixing in some Romanian companies and those already tied in to Alpine (with a nod to the GT40 stripe along the skirt)

On a side note, the 911 livery in my bonus photo was made by someone in this forum and I love it ❤️

Ok, now I'm getting confused, how much can a livery be based on a real livery? Like, if it's not a one-for-one recreation of an existing livery, it's ok? Because I thought liveries couldn't share any similarities with an existing one, but it seems like that's actually fine so long as the livery wasn't for that car in the first place?

The brief calls for original designs only. It can be based off something existing but shouldn't be an obvious replica. Simply switching colour/sponsor doesn't count as original...

Very nice cars and ideas so far ! 😋

I always take some days to do a special livery, and this one confirms it...
Still some work to do, but happy to see that the car and the theme have not been used (yet 😅) 😁

I think we are going to another rough fight for the votes !!!

So.... it can look like an existing livery as long as it isn't a direct copy? These rules confuse me since some entries are clearly inspired by a real livery, which I thought wasn't allowed.

If any of the existing entries have snuck past my "replica radar" then they've done enough for them to appear different to the original. The brief calls for original liveries, so they'll be favoured in the voting (at least by me...)

I tried to tick every box requested for this LEC.

An (at least I hope  ) obviously existing thing inspired livery without being a replica, and, which seemed to be important, from a manufacturer not present in GT7.

I reproduced the GT4 Polyphony Digital number plate model (and added the UK flag inside) but I guess I might have to update it to fit the "real race thing" (even if, seeing other entries, I'm not sure what is allowed or not on this point).

I had a couple of ideas before I start but the Lister Storm seemed to be a quite well known car and recognizable livery to "old" Gran Turismo players, and as the car isn't present in GT7 I wanted to find a car that "looked like" the Lister (I wouldn't have taken the Beetle! >< ) and tried to have a personal take on how the Lister Storm colours could have been applied on the Huracan.

I asked for Lister decals on the svg request thread but couldn't help myself from posting so I might change a few things if the decals are made. :)

It has been "fun" to use the available decals and having to hide the outside circles to keep the blades only! 😅

Have fun everyone, and have a good night if it's late for you too! 😴

You've answered your own question there. 😉 Replace them for something from an established race series (in real life) and you're golden. Great livery by the way!

@Nuschel01 So I just need to add a number placard?
I guess so.
And sorry for being the guy who pointed out that, I'd rather have left my personal number, but I finally made some quite cool changes (imo) to put my British flag somewhere else.

@Nuschel01 I'll be honest : I guess the number itself is part of the real race thing so I removed my "Fabio style 27" and tried to find the official WEC numbers but couldn't find the 7 so I used the default GT7 numbers (which seem quite similar), I hope it will be fine.

Depending on the racing series you'd be making it for, yes.

So here is my updated entry.

Changed the number panel and a few things here and there, and the green has been darkened a bit.

As I couldn't keep the UK flag behind my custom number (and I think it's part of the original livery mine is inspired from), I found a new way to display it.

I also added some GT Planet decals here and there, so thanks for making me change my number, I'm happy with the few changes this allowed me to do. :)

(link has been added and one bonus shot changed in the original post)

Hi, can I just check whether an idea will fit the rules please? There was a Chinese manufacturer Lifan who sold Hongda branded motorbikes, and there appear to be a number of asian energy drinks who have identified a demand for bovine branded energy drinks, so would a Lifan Hongda Moogen Wild Cow livery be allowed? I was hoping to do a pasiche of the real livery, but with amended colouring and branding... is it far enough away from 'replica'? I'd like to keep the overall design similar to the real thing if possible, for the pastiche element? Given the brazen copyright infringements of the real manufacturers involved, I'm hoping it is something that they'd actually try if entering motorsport, but I can see how it could be deemed as not an original design :)

I've started the above, I'd really like to do Power Cow, but I suspect it's a photoshop joke, and tbh I do wonder about Wild Cow, but enough people claim to have drunk the stuff that I just about believe it is real

As long as it doesn't just look like a parody Red Bull/Honda livery and it's NOT on a Honda, I'll allow it. Mainly because I'm intrigued to see what this would come out like! If it's just a semi-replica with swapped branding and colours it's not really original... ;)

Finally got my Skoda VRS DTM 2023 done. Wish they would make a coupe car but think VW and Audi would not like that idea. Started out by trying many different ideas and building it to finish little by little. Hope that i did not over or under do it. Livery would work in any base color but had to keep it green.

Bentley Beetle GT DTM 2022
- PS4 base -

The Bentley Beetle GT
What could be more apart than a Volkswagen Beetle from a Bentley GT? That’s what I was thinking – before later on I found out that Bentley is part of the Volkswagen Group since 1998. Nevertheless I like the idea of dressing a German icon just like a British classic 24h Le Mans winner. And British motorsport means of course dark green paint and the Union Jack. The rest isn’t that much important, just a few sponsor decals mandatory for the German racing series DTM 2022. I tried to keep it simple, classic and not too colourful at all: BRG and mustard-gold dominating the livery design.
To recognise the British Racing Green in full beauty please watch the bonus images (spoiler).

The green looks so good in the bonus pictures

The Bentley Beetle GT
My other idea wasn't for the Beetle but was about the Bentley!
As I said before I wish I could have the "same" shape or at least some similarities in the name and so my first idea was related to Bugatti.

If we had a Gr.3 Bugatti I would have probably done a "British Racing Green Bentley Race Car inspired livery".

The Beetle never came to my mind so I'd like to congratulate you for that choice and the way you did it!
