Replica (ish) of the Joest Racing's 1985 Le Mans winning #7 1985 Porsche 956B.

This took more time than it should have to make as only after I'd put together the base livery did I realise that it's not symmetrical, so had to start it again from scratch  As the 956 and 962 body shapes differ slightly I've had to move some decals around a little but I've tried to remain true to the original design. I also liked the black wheels I found on this version of the car so used them instead of the ones run in 1985:

Opel Manta Group 5 1984

This competition reminded me about a livery, I wanted to finalize in the future. As the future is now, I hope this 1984 Opel Manta Group 5 Fan Fiction livery fits the theme.

Great liveries everyone!

I did this because it's Walter Maurer. Maurer was the guy who actually painted some of the BMW Art Car designs on to the cars, he also raced. That's pretty much it really.

It's not an exact replica, it's a mix of a couple of liveries the car wore across the season.

edit 2: Oh yeah.. Maurer didn't race at Le Mans, just some of his cars, this is kind of a tribute to his contribution to the Art Cars at Le Mans.
