Ok I've realised theres no thread for fans of what has to be the largest series of games around today, Final Fantasy.

So use this thread for:

• Talks with other Final Fantasy fans about the current and future games of the series
  [*]Help if your stuck on a certain game
  [*]And to generally just have some nice fun
  

This is open to everyone! No verification or acceptence needed, just post if you like the series.

The first one i played was FFVIII and i have been hooked on them since.
I don't have a favourite character, i think most of the characters are good in there own way. As for party members i tend to use fighters rather than magic.

Fighters rather than magic? Intresting, thats pretty much the oppisite of me. At most I would have just the one fighter, then I would put in a White Mage (Healing), a Support chracter (I.E. For stealing) and a Black Mage (To support the Fighter)

But since FFX you can only have 3 party members, I'd drop the Support Chracter.

I think FFVIII is my favorite, I just love the story to it.

I've played 160 hours on one FFX savegame, and I really enjoyed that too. I just love filling in all those spears and making all my characters stronger. The Black Aeons are a challenge too. The only way I have managed to beat them is with the Zanmato attack from one of my Aeons (cannot remember the name, some Japanese/Chinese name).

Wow, this is really reminding me how much I loved these games. I've not played them in AGES.

Edit: Oh, and I've completed FF VII, VIII, IX, and X. My brother has done all the rest (except XI), I just havent got around to them yet!

Yojimbo 👍 Probably my least favourite Aeon, you can't trust him/her in battle.

It's a while since i have played it but i probably have more than double your ammount of hours. I have all stats maxed at 255 for all characters with around 40,000 health. With these stats i defeated the dark aeons fairly easy, but it still took me around 3 hours to defeat penance.
Zanmato is right it's one of Yojimbo's moves that instantly kills any enemy.

in FF1 (NES) I used a basic setup party of a Fighter, Black Mage, White Mage, Blackbelt. I damn near beat the game many years ago with that setup (I still can't believe how over powered a Fighter is in that game, a party of 4 Fighters is nearly indescructable!)

FF5 I played a variety of class and ability combos. I kept Butz with all the main defense jobs (Warrior, Magic Warrior, Samurai, Monk, etc). Lenna I kept with all the main Mage and etc jobs (White/Black, Summoner, etc). I had Faris as all my odd jobs (Blue mage, Trainer, Chemist, Geomancer, Hunter, Bard, Red Mage, etc). I had the old guy and his grandaughter as the Melee jobs (Theif, Ninja, etc). Damn near beat that game too just havent gotten around to it.

FF7 I played until Aeris died. =(

FF8 I beat many many years ago, I can't even remember what the main boss looked like.

FF9 I still play off and on, I'm still in the first few hours of that game though.

FF10 just freezes on me, so I dont play it.

FF11 I played a since US PC release. I played a RDM up to lvl 18 and stopped.

FF12 demo looks nice and looks REALLY promising!!!

FFT and FFTA are always fun to play, never got too far in either one.

Omega Weapon is bloody annoying, to say the least, its first attack...

Yeah Final Fantasy 12 looks great, last one on PS2 aswell I would have thought before they go to PS3.

Final Fantasy on PS3... That would be so damn amazing.

I never managed to slay Omega Weapon in FFVIII, but in FFX is was dead easy.

I would like to say that Lulu is my favorite Final Fantasy character because of her differences compared to the other girls. All the other final fantasy girls always need to have this protection from guys as if they are weak and fragile. Lulu is different since she got a mind of her own and will speak her mind either you like it or not! Like Wakka said, she have a short fuse so getting her mad is not worth it since she will cast a Fury of Firaga or Flare or Ultima for an Overkill on you.

The most enjoyable party I have ever played in Final Fantasy was a party in Final Fantasy VII. I used Cloud, Tifa, and Red for the majority of the game. The party got really crazy once I got Knights of the Round and Omnislash. With those two things at my disposal, it made the entire game a breeze.

Right now, I have a feeling I am going to change my mind on Lulu being my favorite. I think Ashe in Final Fantasy XII might be my new favorite. She got this aura around her that I have EVER wanted in life! A princess, a fighter, a lover, heir to the throne, and an ADVENTURE OF A LIFE TIME!

I would like to say that Lulu is my favorite Final Fantasy character because of her differences compared to the other girls. Played only FFVII,FFX,FFX-2,will probably be one of the first persons in europe to play FFXII(I have a cousin in US,and he will buy me a NTSC-US copy of it because he owns me some favors, ,and he alredy sent me the demo,due to be delivered any day now heh)(I have a modded PS2 👍)

Favorite FFVII carachter: Vincent,Tifa
Favorite FFX: Auron,Yuna.
FFX-2 as thrown away (read:re-sold to some kid)imediately upon seeing the Charlie's Angels style introintro


In FFVII i mostly used Cloud,Tifa,and Barret.
In FFX my usual party was Auron,Yuna,and switching Tidus/Rikku/Lulu,though I mostly used Rikku's Mix overdrive(*cough* Trio of 9999 *cough*) and Anima when I got it.

And I managed to complete the dreaded "Chocobo ballon catching" minigame

But the my favorite thing about the Final fantasy is the music.Especially the Otherworld from FFX.

If Wakka says "ya" at the end of nearly every sentence, then Chappu(Wakka's dead brother who died from Sin) must say "no" at the end of every sentence.

I guess I should join up as I've played and completed VII, VIII, IX, X and X-2.

Favourite character would be Auron partly because he reminds me of Toshiro Mifune's performances in Kurosawa's films "Yojimbo" and "Sanjuro". Don't worry if you don't know what I'm talking about!

Looking forward to FFXII and watching Advent Children once the subtitled version is released.

Oh and did you know that the voice actor for Wakka and Kimahri in FFX is the same one that did Bender in Futurama?

Hmmmm... all this FF talk is making me want to pick up X...

That's exactly what i thought. I got home last night got FFX in the PS2 and then disaster, i can't find my memory card for FFX.
While searching under my bed i did find 3 super nintendos, N64, dreamcast, and PS1 with a lot of memory cards so i might try FFVIII tonight. I don't recall fighting Omega weapon in VIII is he a secret boss?

The best FF to date that I've played was FFVII, I used Cloud, RedXIII and Tifa or sometimes Vincent they were the four most used characters.

I played FFX, I enjoyed it but it wasn't a patch on VII, VIII and IX I completely missed out on, XIII appealed to me, looking back I'm suprised I never got it, I was just too busy with other things to spend 100 hours on a game and it just came and went.

FFVII is imo one of the best three games I've everplayed not counting MGS, MGS2 and MGS3 all together cos that wouldn't be fair.
