That would be much appreciated; I can't seem to find it on google.

I'm feeling so guilty right now, since my love for these two Ferraris are almost equal........ but I'm voting for F40 over Testarossa. :(

Edit: Even on the 40th post! I knew I was the #1 F40 Fan! :sly:

why is everybody picking the F40 over the F50? is there something I don't know about the F50? or the Enzo? (besides the obvious downfall of only paddleshift with no option for a "true" manual)??

Ah! Something interesting to discuss in this thread, cheers.
-The F50 was marginally faster then the F40, at best.
-The F50 and the Enzo are fugly. Granted, a lot of people like the Enzo, but it is pretty widely agreed that the F50 is hidious.
-The F50 had heinous build quality.

It could be argued that the F50 and Enzo lack the visceral appeal and purity of intent evident in the F40, but not (effectively) by me.

F40 = Hardcore (no computer assists); sexy curves (and boxes  ); turbo V8  ; pure, raw intensity in the form of a street-legal racecar.

F50 = For the most part, "just another supercar"; looks kinda frumpy; naturally-aspirated V12 (great, but not very unique).

Enzo = Everyone and their cousin worships it, just like how everyone and their brother used to worship the McLaren F1; brings back the intensity of the F40, but still has electronic nannies; naturally-aspirated V12 (see above).

Those are my reasons for preferring the F40, anyway. :)

Wasn't the F40 stripped down so far that it was the first road car since the original Austin Mini to have a pull-string interior door "handle"?

It also didn't have roll down windows, as the winding mechanism was "too heavy" and instead, had sliding plexiglass panels in the door windows!

The F40 is one of the few cars that allows you to admire the beautiful welding work on the interior panels!

Welding? On Carbon Fibre panels?
You've bought the cheapy Pontiac Fiero conversion one! :P

If carbon fibre was used in the interior, I doubt it was used for everything... :P

The spaceframe, engine mountings and chassis were of aluminium construct, and bearing in mind this was a limited edition, way-more-than-you-or-I-can-afford, supercar, in which they sacrificed everything, including interior panels, window-winders, carpets etc, etc, in order to crack the 200mph-in-a-"road"-car barrier, I believe the "money-no-object" attitude lead to most panels being of Kevlar construction.

I'm drunk, so I'm likely wrong too! :dunce:

*edit* Nope. Still not killed that particular braincell yet..... Spent a lot of teenage time :drool:ing over this car!

Ferrari F40 performance, specs & pics.

 1991, $400,000, 201MPH, and still gets better gas mileage than a 2004, $19,000 Jeep Liberty! There's progress! 👎!!!!

Also - the layer of paint on the F40 is so thin you can see the carbon fiber weave through it. All in the name of weight saving...

The F40 was the last ever car to be signed off by Enzo Ferrari, therefore its the last true Ferrari.

I don't doubt that the F50 & Enzo are 'better' but there's just something so 'right' about the F40 - it just defines the word supercar for me.

Everyone forgot about the Porsche 959

2.8L Flat 6
Twin Turbos
4 Wheel drive
450 HP back in 1986 :scared:
Now that was a car that could go 200MPH day and night,in rain or sunshine, with no hint of worry.THAT is a supercar :sly:

The 959 is one of favourites as well. Over the years i've gone from the F40 being my fav to the 959 been my fav, over and over again - it just happens to be the F40 at the moment. I suppose these were the supercars of my generation.

Wow...no one else is picking the Veyron? They better make a lane just for me on the highways, autobahns, and other highspeed roadways, you guys will have to just get out of the way!

( shows taillights to all other supercars )

Supercars should be fun to drive on all roads, not just the highspeed ones!
