Actually, for anyone in Texas, this is Texas. You must be mistaken. And, as someone who recently went to Texas, anyone from any state would call you names, ohh wait, they do.

And I'm 110% sure that the worst cars in the world are from US companies(note how I didn't say "are made in the US" because they aren't. The only thing really American about the cars are that they are made by American workers, most of which are so stuck up in the companies, they wear shirts saying "Japanese Crap" and "My American car can kick your import's ass". I've been in 2 plants from 2 different companies, and they are both the same. We went with my dad when he taught at Renken years ago, and we were told that the plant managers said that they can't be held responsible for any damage to a non-American car on thier lot. Shows you how much they appriciate other companies' hard work that they steal and use on thier cars made from parts made in India, Mexico, or China, and put together by robotics made by Japanese companies. But yea, they are American cars. Give me a break.), and GM cirtainly is on the top of the list.

says who? I like the skyline the best but that doesn't mean I wouldn't jump on the chance to own a cobra series 1 or Z06...

now besides that are you telling me it's not true? hell one of the only "american" cars made 100% in the US is the dodge viper....

When we went on one of the tours the tour guide went on and on how American the cars are, and my dad actually said to him "The parts are made in Mexico, the robotics are from Japan...really the only thing that makes the cars American are that they are assembled here by Americans." This guy had a devestated look on his face. I don't remember what he said back though.

No...I think you misunderstood....I'm agreeing that these "american" cars are made in mexico and they (ford lovers) love them but they hate on hondas which are made in japan. so what gives them the right to call a car made in japan crap but not one made in mexico? I never agreed that american cars suck. Just wanted to clarify ;)

all cars have their advantages and disadvantages...
 
Wouldn't anyone who sees how poor American cars have become be biased towards much better cars from other counties? And not all cars from American companies are bad. Look at the Ford Probe. It's a "Ford". It's manufactured by Mazda. It's actually more practical than it's Mazda counterparts because they are hatchbacks. And they have the quality of a Japanese car. And you can take it to a Ford plant and not worry about some drunken Ford employee trashing it cause it's got the Ford name on it. It's a win-win.

When you look at other countries, there's not a whole lot of consumers buying cars from the US. Then you look at the US, and a great amount of car sales goes to cars imported to the US. It's gotten so good that many companies now have plants in the US which offer the same quality as the companies' home country.

Also, look at the US companies. Oldsmobile is going down. Geo went down. Plymouth went down. Saturn might go down. And you know why? Because the US companies wanted to increase sales by adding devisions with the same vehicles just rebadged. And it worked for a while. But now it's starting to slip.

Ohh, might I add, while in Texas I saw TV commercials for Chevy that blatently said "Assembled right here in Texas". Assembled. Not produced, just put together. Any country could put cars together...what makes it special that it's done in the US?

Okay, but are those cars made in Mexico designed in Mexico, by Mexican designers?

Maybe Americans hate cars designed and built by Japanese in Japan, yet love the car they have come to design and have a hand in building.

well they still hate hondas that were built in america by "american" honda motor co, with american workers, which they ALSO had a hand in building....see what I'm saying? It's hypocritical....

You have to think American to see the situation entirerly.

well seeing as I am american I'd like to think that I think american....and being able to disagree is what being american is....and not all imports=rice I just want them to be able to acknowledge that...
 
Every car not made in the US is an import. That, sadly, would include US cars made by parts made in Mexico. It also includes cars from BMW and even Maybach. So you can't say that all imports are rice. Also, say you are in Germany. BMW would be a domestic for you, and US cars would be imports.
 
But if you're a redneck v8 gas guzzling american then all imports = rice.

Well unlike the common stereotypes there are a fair amount of Americans with all of thier teeth living in actual houses in nice nieghborhoods driving cars with less than 8 cylinders.

Well that's odd, I'm American and I don't see that at all, seeing as how Porsche's are also Imports, I don't consider them rice, Considering GSXR's are imports I don't consider them rice, considering the XTR2 run's off of a Imported engine, I don't consider it rice, Seeing as how most American cars arn't made in america, I don't consider them imports. What a weird way of thinking Cobraboy, very stereotypical and very negative. tsk tsk:rolleyes:
And can we please stick to cars that are in stock exterior trim, I can have the front end of Integra Type R, and it could be a Honda civic. Modified cars shouldn't apply, then it's just a matter of did the owner have enough money to put a new fascia on there.
