And as already pointed out, if you're buying a pick up truck, why would you care about acceleration anyway unless you were looking at some sport truck like an SS, Lightning, or SRT-10...

Are you mad? Have you ever seen the hicks operate? They love to floor their trucks.

Nah - in the first post, just any random buyer. And since most trucks are proportionally sold in the south, I figured 'any random buyer' to be this guy:

But there are plenty of non-hicks who buy the trucks who could care less about the acceleration.

Well, look - if you honestly think people don't care about acceleration just because they drive SUVs then a) you're wrong and b) you clearly don't drive an SUV.

Well I guess I must have been the only one out there while driving our Bravada and now Suburban who realized that it's only an SUV and not a sportscar.

Because I honestly don't know anyone who is comparing 0 - 60 times on their Durango out on the street or trying to gun it at stop lights...

People in the suburbs by Durangos. They show their neighbours their tools on the weekend and they have big RVs.

I have a lot of stereotypes. :(

Did you have a first-generation Bravada? And by "Bravada" I mean "the sexiest thing ever invented". I was the only person in America who liked the 1991-1994 Bravada, but I loved it with such a distinct passion that I should've been doing ads for Oldsmobile.

One of the first 2002 Bravadas, fully loaded with everything except the entertainment center since those didn't come out until 6 months after the vehicle launched. We chose it over the TrailBlazer and Envoy because we got the $1000 off for already owning another Oldsmobile (my Alero).

Prior to that we had a 1999 Expedition and before that a 1997 Expedition, although I never liked driving those too much.

Ahh - loyalty cash! Mercury is currently offering $2000 in New York for returning Mercury owners - if I were in the market, I'd get a 1986 Sable from a junkyard for $100 and try to get the $2000 off a Mountaineer.
